I really think that I would get a lot of use out of them. From spring until fall I live in flip fops. I can't hardly stand shoes.
Paula

Well, I swore I would never wear them. But when we were a WDW this Christmas, my feet were tired of my Pumas so I tried them on in the store and they were so comfy that I had to buy them. Have the black ones. My friend was able to get the hot pink ones because she can wear a kids size.
I wore them all the time. Until the snow came that is.

I like the flip flop crocs best. For some reason the regular ones rub against the bone sticking out on the inner ankles. What's that about? it doesn't seem to do that for anyone else, even in my family. Do I have freakish ankle bones or something? Anyway, it would give me blisters there if I wore them too long.
But LOVE the flip flops (or as they called in my days, thongs.. but that's something different now).
and ditto on wearing them all the time until the snow/cold came. :(

Okay, I was just wondering because you never know what could happen. The girls not hit it off, etc. And I know that WE wouldn't be bothered sleeping all in the same room, we're close like that (did I say close? I meant cheap LOL) -but didn't know if that would get us thrown in the aforementioned Mickey jail or something.

on the last cruise- cat 10 (didn't even have a balcony!) DH kept going to sleep in the kids room with them- and then later I'd have to have him come get in bed in our room (connected room). it really would have been NO BIG deal at all for me to just crawl in bed with him in that one room. No idea why they make them sleeping 4 only. When you have kids, you really can sleep more than that in there. LOL (and same for resorts, hotels, etc. I was very pleasantly surprised that the hotels near DL had reasonable prices for rooms that slept 5!)

Remember also that it is 15 days.......
1. you might want the extra room for that long of a journey.....
2. You could do it for paper purposes only but are yousure you really want to risk messing up your ressie after all the mess......

I think that I will order me a pair. I end up going through at least 4 pairs of sandals during the season.

Hi all - been absent for a few days - come back to found out I am helping coordinate the SM! Guess that'll teach me to to be absent! :scared1:

Take heed all ye pirates, swabbies, evil twins and of course wenches - do not abscond from the board or ye will be volunteered! ARGH!!!!!! pirate: :lmao: Just kidding - although I reserve the right to say: "I was,...really I was, I was, I was." :lmao:

Anyway, just popped in to say that I read the summaries and will have to go back and find the posts of bonding - can anyone give me a hint as to where these are? LOL - oh yeah - not sure if this has been mentioned or discussed - in Buena Park, CA there is an attraction that is called Pirate Adventures which is a dinner entertainment type of dinner show. My oldest DD -20 went when it first opened month ago and really loved it. She said that the actors were brought over from FL as this was a new show for CA. Now locals have taken over for a time and new music is supposed to be playing - DD wants to go - if I manage to take her or she goes - will post what she thinks of it. This type of show is similar to the Medival Knights dinner show that was popular several years back. OOOPPPSSS! did I just date myself? Anyway, if anyone is interested I can stop by and get pamphlets for pricing - might be interesting for a dinner meet out here some time. Let me know if anyone wants info - Later Laura - on my way to backtracking! ;)

That is so true. For that long I think the extra room would be wonderful. I would have gotten DS his own room, but I didn't want to pay the fare for him to bring someone with him.
He is really looking foward to our srping break cruise and not so much this one. I think the difference is my nephew is joining us. I hope that the teens at least make a good effort to get to know each other before hand. At 18 and up they get more independent.

Good night all! I've been trying to catch up again, but to no avail.. I get to the end and I'm tuckered out!

on #1- no really it wouldn't bother us. We stayed in one room at the all stars for 12 nights back when Rita was young enough that they'd allow that. (yet she wasn't in a crib)
For a moment I thought what about not having the extra bathroom?!? But it's not really worth all that much to us, considering this cruise we do NOT intend on taking things as seriously- such as not forcing the kids to go to the show and eat dinner with us each evening so that's 3 less kids that have to get all dressed up for dinner- and probably we won't be participating much in the formal nights this time. (haven't decided for sure on that just yet). So bathroom time is not going to be as much as it was last time- especially with ME. Honestly I can only remember ONE time the last cruise that 2 of us were showering/getting ready at the same time. Even with 2 bathrooms all but that one time (when DH was in one shower, eldest DD was in the other) we did things at different times anyway! I'd shower and start letting my hair dry while the kids showered and I got them dressed while DH showered and then I finished up getting myself ready (hair/dressed). Seriously, only one time did we actually use the showers at the same time, and it wasn't even necessary then.
Plus we do have the balcony this time which we didn't have last time- so there's more room if needed to have "space". So really the only difference is the bathroom which is a non-issue. We basically paid for a 2nd room last time JUST for the few hours we slept in our room (after I woke Jeff up to come to bed in there) and the one time we showered at the same time. We were never getting ready at the same time and never used like both rooms at the same time for any other reason than the few hours sleeping mentioned above. We could have easily slept in the same room the entire time, no problem.

on #2- I trust my TA that they would make sure the ressie wasn't messed up with any changes.

Anyway, it is stuff to think about. Thanks!

I think maybe I'd feel a little different if it wasn't SO expensive for that other room (almost as much as our entire cruise cost last time with 2 cat 10's SPH rooms) and if I knew for sure where our rooms were and that the room would be near our cat 6. I have visions of the cat 11 being on another deck anyway and if so, can you take a wild guess where all 5 of us would be sleeping anyway? (I'll give you one guess) And we certainly wouldn't be running off to the other room to help them get showered/dressed/etc. either. We would basically be in the cat 6 and paying for the extra room for nothing.
(if that were to happen- and who knows... it could!)

Hey Crash and Roger are over due.......

Crash probably went to his favorite Chinese restaurant with friends.....Or remember the night he was at a friends house and he was trying to tell them how normal we all were so we tried to behave for 10 minutes......I wonder if we scared them off.........Never heard the report......

Roger is working I think.....

Yes, I am working this weekend, just put the kids to bed. They were out of school today and since it was so warm around here they went swimming. Sorry Midwest and East Coast DISers. Hospital was busy today with 2 of our people calling in sick as well. Had to round on 40 patients today. Dogs are barking. Will read for a few more minutes before off to bed.

Okay, I lied!!:lmao: I had 2000 posts to catch up on.:rotfl2: By the time I get caught up for the day, I can't think of anything to say.Hey, that rhymes.:thumbsup2

I booked Howard Johnson Anaheim. Not a DL resort. Too expensive for our blood- we want to save the money for the cruise! it really depends on how things "go" this year whether we'll be able to even afford everything that the cruise involves (plus a few days at DL because we can't pass up probably the ONLY time we'll go there... well I've been there once but it didn't count- I was almost 9mo pregnant, there alone on business at the time, and only walked around in awe for a couple hours- rode nothing, bought nothing, and did I mention only a couple of hours?!?) Jeff can have really good years with lots of overtime, big bonuses, etc- and then he can occasionally have "not so good" years and we're a little tapped out at the moment what with buying a new house, bigger mortgage payment, etc. Yanno? So we'll have to give up the thought of staying at GC.

How many nights are you staying at Hojo? What's the nightly rate?:surfweb:

I really think that DCL will do a great job of putting people together. I think that is the main reason that so many of us have GTY. We had GTY on the last EB and I didn't hear of any complaints that families were split apart. But I didn't even know this board existed then. But I do realize the added costs of larger families, you are probably not the only one with this dilemna.

$99 a night for a room all 5 of us can be in (not disney view, but with balcony/2 queens/rollaway bed).
I went ahead and booked 6 nights but I'm not sure we'll actually go that early. I just didn't want to have "issues" later on if I made the reservation for less nights and wanted to add more nights later and not have availability in the same room/etc.
I'm CONSIDERING taking the kids earlier and then DH catch up with us when his work week is over (he works m-th if he doesn't work the other days as overtime). I'm still not sure though. I'd have to trust DH to bring his own luggage (cause I can't take all ours PLUS his by myself with the kids and all! and what I mean is making sure he brings everything he needs- some things can't be packed a week earlier if he's still at home needing to USE those toiletries, razor, etc.) and get the vehicle situated at airport parking, etc. LOL He's used to me handling everything- yanno?

So we may just go all together and only get there late Th night (late late) or early Fri and then have 1-2 days at DL. We'll see.

I do hope you're right... but who really knows. They don't guarantee that we'll have the room nearby and we may not know what rooms we have until after we've already paid!

I'm sure I'm not the one with this dilemna, positive I'm not!
(but I'm the one that jumped on Kristina's offer. :rotfl: :confused3 :rolleyes1 )

And I wonder.... if someone here is still waiting on a room that would love to have the cat 11.
