for me it was brussel sprouts. Would it have KILLED my mom to put something on there like a cheese sauce or just melt some cheese on it or something? I was a major veggie eater as a child (didn't really like meat but ate it because I was told to, only enjoyed the veggies though) but brussel sprouts, and oh yeah-lima beans, were the bane of my existence. I still don't like lima beans but brussel sprouts aren't that bad if they aren't just plain.
(I like spinach and green beans though LOL)

I was never force-fed brussel sprouts. My dad always said if he ever wrote his autobiography he would title it: I Never Chewed a Brussel Sprout since he would swallow them whole when he was a kid.

I've always been afraid of brussel sprouts! Love green beans and spinach, but the spinach has to be fresh, not the nasty stuff from a can. When I worked at a summer camp in college, the kids had to take 'no thank you' helpings of things they didn't like (so staff had to also). At least 3 bites of everything. I spent a summer of my life swallowing lima beans whole! :rotfl2:

BIP- I hope your husband feels better soon. None of that can be fun.

Just got home for lunch, Hazel had already left for her Ladies Retreat, and I found the neighbor's tree crashed through our fence and also landed on the house that sits behind us. Guess I'll be calling our homeowners insurance company. Angelina and I heard a loud noise this morning while she was getting ready for school, but it sounded like thunder to me. I'm the only one who uses the back door and I just happened to see our fence was crushed as I walked in for lunch. The house behind us got bad, part of their roof is missing from where the tree hit it.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Glad your house was spared! Imagine if it somehow got to your new water heater!!;)

I hope the neighbors are ok. I am sure the rain didn't help any.:grouphug:

OK...I will say good morning but it is hard to feel that way. I am tired & cranky. It is a very bad hair day. We are under a tornado watch and there is a tornado about 40 miles from here. The rain & wind are pretty bad & the street lights keep coming on. I probably shouldn't be online now but it is keeping me awake at the moment since I probably shouldn't rest until after this system has passed.

Is the storm all gone now? You guys okay??

I picked up my x-rays and report this afternoon at the end of my work day. Man, my knees look horrible on the inside, actually, they don't look that good on the outside either............:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Report states:

Right Knee Findings:

There is moderate to severe narrowing of the medial femorotibial joint space. There is also sclerosis involving the medial tibial plateau. The medial tibial plateau appears slighty depressed. This may be projectional. There is no joint effusion.

Left Knee Findings:

The patient is status post partial left knee replacement with prothetic components overlying the lateral femoral condyle and lateral tibial plateau. There is moderate-to-severe narrowing of the medial femorotibial joint space. There is osteophyte formation off the tibial spines and off the medial femoral condyle. There is also patellafemoral joint space narrowing.

Not sure, but I think maybe that's why my knees ache so much..........:rotfl2:

What say you Peter???

Yikes. That doesn't sound good. Take care of those knees.

Just don't ever visit in the winter time. Brrrr They do have a disney theme display that is part of the festival of lights. oh but I just told you not to go there in the winter time.:rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

Here's my last posting before I hit the road...

Now here's a sight truly to behold!

Niarga in the Winter...

canadian7.jpg

Having lived my ENTIRE life in SOCal I have seen very little snow - or tru winter weather. And having my spouse's mother be from Hawaii - this makes for a number of "winter holidays" in Hawaii. Some might think... ohhh, poor Tom"... but really it does wear thin after 20+ years. Folks on Hawaii get "island fever" where they get a huge bite from the travel-lust bug.

OK... I'd write more but I gotta run!

It's snowing.

I ended up staying home today, even though they didn't close the office. There goes one personal day. :headache: I didn't stay home on purpose though. I decided to take the 2nd bus in to work, just in case someone got a bright idea that it really wasn't safe to open up, but without luck, there was no such thing. So, I bundled up and went to the bus stop. After about a half an hour, something wasn't right. :cold: I made a quick call and found out that the bus I take to work does not go through town. Only goes to the downtown area, stops at the Chamber of Commerce and turns around back in to Portland. ACK! So I called work, told them they would have to survive without me and went home. By time I got back home, and I'm not kidding or exaggerating, I had 2 inches of snow on my shoulders.

So, I'm going to :surfweb: and popcorn:: and :happytv: . After the necessary ketchupin of course.

Since everyone seemed to enjoy old Disney pictures yesterday, I thought I would drag out my first experience with Small World. No it was not in California or Florida but New York. Here are a couple of pictures from the 1964 Worlds Fair that produced Small World, Carousel of Progress and the Grand Canyon Dinosaur portion of the railroad.

That's the down side of scrapbooking....the getting it all together part.

I went to a scrapbooking weekend in January and haven't touched the stuff since I brought it home. Yet, somehow I still need to get things together before I go to an all-day crop on 3/17. How on earth do I need to get things together when I never unpacked from the last time? I just don't get that at all. :confused3

DW was all giddy because the Archivers store in town not only has a BUNCH or scrapping crap (<--- that's my term for it) but they also have special times when you can go in and use their tables, supplies etc for a small fee in order for you to put your books together! They had lots of specialty themed items too--Disney, adoption, outdoor life etc.

Forecast

Morning sunshine, then cloudy, windy and cold this afternoon. There will be a few areas of rain and snow shower activity develop as the day goes on. 1-3 inches of snow possible in places like northern El Paso and Teller County as well as the southern Front Range Foothills. Calming down as the evening goes on with cold overnight lows. Sunshine and temps in the 30's and 40's for Saturday.

Sunny skies, very nice and warmer on Sunday.

Spring is coming! There's a Home & Garden show this weekend...maybe I'll earn some brownie points and take DW :thumbsup2

I want to thank everyone who has shared there WDW stories and pics. I have enjoyed them very much.:goodvibes I don't have any early pics to share, but somebody had mentioned a funny Niagra Falls story from NJ. Here is a pic from the 70's of me & my sisters. I am the one in the beige cape.:rotfl2:

My father wanted to get the perfect picture with the falls in the background. Against my mothers wishes of course he put us girls over the fence and on this rock. Still makes me want to ask.............what were you thinking?:scared1: I imagine if somebody even tried doing that today what would happen. Can't believe he wasn't caught even back then. Hey nice view of the falls though huh?:rotfl:

That picture is priceless!!

My younger one has noticed that her baby scrapbook is nowhere near as thick as her older sib's. I keep telling her that it's because he's older & that her book will have more pages by the time she's that age. I figure by the time she realizes that she'll never catch up to his age, she'll be old enough to scrap the rest of the pages herself.

:lmao: :lmao:

Very cool....even more rare than old Disneyland pics.
I'm going up to visit my parents in April, will have to go through all their pictures to "salvage" the DLand and family trip photos. I know my brothers don't care what happens to them, but I do.

Just got off the phone with my homeowner's insurance company, they will be sending someone out to check out my claim. Here is a pic of the tree that crashed this morning. I talked to my other neighbor and he has already called a tree service to come out and remove the tree. Luckily, no one was injured!!!

I've got to get back to work as soon as I fix myself a protien shake.

Will have to ketchup later

pixiedust: That everything gets better and the tornados stop before they get any closer.
