We don't have kids but this sounds fun:

On another thread they are talking about doing a scavanger hunt in the ships for the kids using the passporter treasure hunt book. Then at the end give out little prizes. I have this book and if anyone is intersted I would be happy to make one or more for the adults and kids on our cruise. Just let me know if anyone is interested. We could do familys or groups or adults verse kids or I could just make them up and give them out and people could enjoy them on their own.

Let me know if anyone is interested if not thats ok too.

Jill

That sounds like a ton of fun! I would be up for the adults and kids one:cool1: Well, the kids one for my kids:) Families would be fun too. We did an amazing race type scavenger hunt this summer at a family camping trip and everyone had a blast.

Was that a Freudian slip or WHAT????:lmao:

That's what I get for not previewing before I post!

I could go back and edit it but it's better the way I wrote it. I wonder if John, the error catcher, has found it yet?;)

I MISSED it !

Since I was not online much today, I had a lot to catch up on, and was probably reading way too fast. Oh well, PJ did a stand-in for me!

Bedtime in the East guys!

Good Night!

DS camped out in December to get his Wii. Then to DD's dismay, he took it off to college with him after break! I can't believe they are still that hard to get!
?

Well, I have to admit, after all this searching, I am quite intrigued by the system. Hopefully we will be playing one soon. I hear they are tons of fun. I was thinking since it was a physical game (you are moving around) I would get one and use it for my exercise of my weight loss plan, how does that sound?! :lmao:

Same here!! For those that did not read the article, here is the link:

:surfweb:

Thanks for that link! I often look things up on Snopes but hadn't read about this on there. I first read about it (believe it or not) in the AARP "newspaper" several years ago. It wasn't presented as a joke either! I didn't realize, however, that there were individuals that had actually done it
RIGHT ON!!!:thumbsup2

I have a friend who's kid is such a couch potato and they got her one. I was so excited to see she would have to move around to play but she pretty much mastered how to play on the couch.:rotfl:

Maybe we should start making posts with deliberate errors, just to keep John on his toes!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Don't want you losing your edge, John!!:cool1:

I think this is a terrific idea for the adults!! Count us in the hunt!!

I don't gain on a cruise either...too active, wanting to enjoy every aspect of the ship, running here and there. And then there are the shore excursions, which usually involve an activity of some kind. So, I'm usually OK (watch, after 15 days I'll be *eating* my words...pun intended)!

Lucky you, I will really have to watch what I eat!!

Oh no, I'm not thin by any means and on a day to day basis, I have to watch what I eat else I'm in big trouble. But it seems, on a cruise because of the level of activity (does that show you how inactive I must be at home :rotfl:) I tend to burn what I'm taking in...thank goodness because I don't need anything else added to my already padded figure!

We were at our High School Boy's basketball district semi-final game tonight. We were losing the whole game, and came back to win in a nail biter by 4 points.

You guys may remember my post about the seven foot kid we have (who is Greek) going to Ohio State next year. They projected that if there was an NBA draft for HS kids, he would probably go eighth in such a draft.

Anyway, there was an awesome story about him in the paper today:

http://www.cantonrep.com/index.php?Category=17&ID=340631&r=5&subCategoryID=29

If you want to read a feel good story about a great kid. Our community is very proud of him, and, he is a 4.0 student too.
What a great article! Thanks for sharing the link, John.

Jill,

I think that sounds just lovely!!! Please count me and my little one in!

I have been at a funeral all day, but I am caught up and thinking of you all! I promise to be more active, life just keeps getting in the way lately.

I want you all to know that Lisa G. is one of the nicest people I have ever met. 'nough said.

I am very tired and DH family is all here for the funeral so my best wishes to all of you for sweet dreams.

Goodnight

Kim

Seeing myself on the Jumbotron is NOT an incentive, Woody! Does sound like fun...do you get admission to the parks, or just get to wave at them while you walk through?? I looked online, but didn't find that info.
Park admission is not included. The Half Marathon is completed before the parks officially open.

We used to live in Monterey and there was a California school that had the Banana Slug as a mascot. I'ld take an anteater over a slug any day.

I updated DH on our latest DIS conversation on mascots, while we were at lunch, @ Panera, we both agreed our college mascots Santa Clara Univ Broncos and San Jose State Spartans were a bit boring, he suggested I tell you about the UCSC Banana Slugs.... we have a few friends that have gone there. Something about licking a slug makes you in a club...I'll have to call one and get the whole story to relay to you all.

Have any of you west coasters ever taken a quick Baja cruise? I know I should ask this on the other thread but I don't feel like it.:rotfl: If so with who? I am just trying to get a quick fix for having to wait so long until the real deal. I was thinking October. Both DD's will have a week off of school.

My sister and I went on a longweekend last St Pats day weeekend to Ensenada on RCI, it sucked. I went with as it was a scrapbook weekend, really cheap and planned on scrapping my Disney cruise, but just spent the weekend thinking about how much better DCL was. The food was bad, the ship itself was old and smelly and just much more a party bar feel to the whole place. Ensenada was fine, small but interesting for the weekend. I'd love to do something further into Mexico before this cruise too, just nervous about the quality of other cruise lines.

love this idea, adults, families or kids any of those ideas are cool with me.

I believe they have NO room service on the last morning - you would need to order the coffee the night before.....they want you out of the room as soon as possible.

I plan on ordering breakfast and give them Noel or Karen's cabin number..you can just leave the food outside your door with a big "Calmom" sign! Ordering breakfast was one of the best things about being in a suite. And the last morning...that was perfect. You can't order a hot breakfast, but you can still order food and coffee. It was great! Lucky you guys!

I think that is a FANTASTIC idea. My DH, DM, and DF would be interested in one for adults!

Isn't 2008 DCL's 10th Anniversary? Do you think they'll be having a special celebration next year? That would be so cool!
