Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 4

DznyFan: Nope, I've never been to any of those buildings. They aren't really tourist attractions or anything, I believe they are pretty much dilapidated buildings in a very bad neighborhood. If I recall correctly, there were a few token efforts to turn them into museums but the area is so bad nobody wants to invest in it. It really is a shame.

I talked to my mom again about the kittens - her story has somewhat changed. Now she tells me the mother cat belongs to the neighbors across the street and she decided to have her kittens in my grandparents' barn, so they technically belong to the neighbors. I don't believe that for a second. She also told me they are completely feral and cannot be touched... which is 180 degrees from 10 weeks ago telling me how much fun Emma had holding, snuggling and playing with them. My brother showed me video of them on his phone of him and his GF playing with them too, they are SO cute! Mom just thinks it's a bad idea so she'll come up with any excuse in the book. I asked her to please just consider it.

I had a nice talk with DB and his GF about Disney, they are very excited. I can still see how it will be a disaster though. Right away they asked, "So what days can we sleep in until like, 11 or noon?" and "How much does it cost to go to Paradise Island and party? What are the clubs? How much are the drinks? Are there any limits?" Ugh... I don't get it. You can party and drink yourself silly at home, people! Oh well, as long as they show up for our ADRs I guess it's fine. I did get them excited about Adventurer's Club because I want to check it out. ;) DB liked his Mickey watch that I gave him for his graduation gift.

Hey Nicole, isn't tonight your dad's party? Or is that next week?

Everyone at the party today was telling me I should charge people to plan their WDW vacations. I said, Hey I know someone who does that! It was so cute, another girl Lyzzie's age showed up, some relative of DB's GF, and they were very quiet so I went to check on them. Lyzzie said, "I'm just telling her about Disney!" Her mother said, "Oh she's been there twice, we don't ever need to go back now. We like SeaWorld better, there's more to do." Eeeek!

Hey Lyzziesmom!

The party is Friday and Saturday. We still have so much we need to do! That's so cute that Lyzzie was talking to a girl about Disney! :thumbsup2 (thumb) Some people just don't get it, do they. :sad2: That's too bad your mom won't bring home the kittens. The Adventurer's Club is so much fun. You should try to go.

Lyzziesmom - that really is too bad about those buildings - and too bad they're in bad parts of town, too - so that you can't even go by and just check them out for historical value...
The Adventurer's Club!!! I guess you've never been? It's SO much fun! I'm with Nicole - you should try to go - at least for a couple hours.

Oh yes, I definitely want to try the Adventurer's Club! The comedy club sounds fun too. I'm hoping I can get my parents to keep the girls in their room for a night so I can go check them out. I never get the chance to do that kind of stuff! I think my DB and his GF sort of want to just go "party" and get drunk, which I don't want to do. Good thing SSR is just across the lake from DTD!

My girls are leaving tomorrow for my grandparents' house. I haven't even packed their stuff - most of their clothes are still in the dryer! Lyzzie packed herself a suitcase full of books & stuff to do that must weigh about 20 lbs - she can't even lift it. She stuck in toothbrushes, toothpaste & a hairbrush too. I'm raising such a good little traveler! I figure I'll just toss some clothes in a bag in the morning. It's sad that my 8 year old is more prepared than I am. I don't know what I'm going to do for a whole week by myself! Too bad I have to go to work... hmmm I wonder how many sick days I have left? ;)

Warning!! Warning!! Possible long post. Probably depressing as well……
Please feel free to ignore if you would like…..
I am just a little sad about some things going on with my little brother.
A little background……I am pretty sure I have mentioned to you guys that my father committed suicide less than a month after my 13th birthday. Well, my younger brother would have been about 8 at the time.

Anyway, he has always had problems dealing with it. He is a horse trainer and has basically lived his life going from place to place. But he cannot find happiness. And it is a shame too because he has lived in some great places – everywhere from Northern California, Colorado, New Jersey, Germany, Italy, and now back in Oklahoma.

In the past 5 years or so, he has gotten worse – drinking, depression, money problems – you name it. There was probably a 2 year time frame where I did not even know where he lived.

So, anyway, probably about 6 months ago, he calls me out of the blue – after not hearing from him in 2 years – and tells me he is working for a local TV meteorologist here in Tulsa. And since then, everything seemed to be going great. But apparently it was all a façade.

I talked to him on the phone on Sunday and asked him if he would like to come out to our house for 4th of July. And he said yes, he would like to. So, I told him I’d call him Wednesday morning and tell him what time. So, I call on Wednesday – no answer all day long. Same thing yesterday.

So, last night I call the wife of who he works for. And I got the scoop.

He is drinking so badly, that they had to let him go. In fact, they tried to get him counseling, tried to get him into AA, enrolled him in college so that he could work toward a different career path, basically anything they could do to help him out. And he has refused any and all help. He has shut them out.

Now, he has no job and will probably be evicted from his apartment – which they were paying for – soon. I still can’t get ahold of him. He still won’t answer the phone.

I am both mad at him for what he has done and worried about what he might do to himself.

Thanks for listening to me.

 POZEY - YOU and your brother are in my prayers. I'm so sorry... :grouphug:

Lin - so sad about your friend's little girl. Sending love and prayers their way

(and PS - TDS is a very bad place for me to be...have any of you seen the line they call Tiki Kingdom??? It's fabulous and I'm slightly addicted...)

Welcome tink85 - CNY - I know it well, GO ORANGE!:cheer2:

Pozey - how'd you do with your Lottery tickets yesterday? Quitting your job tomorrow?
Nope. No luck with the lottery tickets. I bought 2 tickets.....so that means I had a total of 10 numbers plus 2 powerball numbers - 12 numbers total. I matched 1. Yes, one. Out of 12. Just shows you how "good" my luck usually is.

We've got another beautiful, warm day today - but I'm inside watching a TIVOed show "The Hand Behind The Mouse - the Ub Iwerks Story" - it's a great show!
Well, my show is over - got to go work on a cruise for my office manager at work, then it's off to the pool for me.
I TiVo'd that show a few days ago. But I haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

Well, here it is Monday again.....

How is everyone this morning? Everyone have a nice weekend?

I had a pretty boring weekend. Didn't do a whole lot.

Saturday, after dropping Chase and Colton off at the birthday party at the swimming pool, DW, Courtney, and I went to Ted's to eat.

After eating, we went to Blockbuster and rented a couple of movies - we rented Ghost Rider and Happily Never After.

Ghost Rider was pretty good and Happily Never After was not. We watched both movies Saturday night.

Sunday, we went to church and came home and didn't do much. DW's sister and her kids came over for a little while. The kids played in the yard for a little while.

Then later in the day Sunday, I went out to mow. Just after I started mowing, April (neighbor/adopted daughter) came over and asked if she and the kids could go swimming. Sure. So she took them up the road to Forest Ridge Pool. They swam until probably 8:30 last night.

Well, that was my boring weekend.

Would that by any chance be a lady friend? You go, UnderDog! ;) ;)

Nope. No luck with the lottery tickets. I bought 2 tickets.....so that means I had a total of 10 numbers plus 2 powerball numbers - 12 numbers total. I matched 1. Yes, one. Out of 12. Just shows you how "good" my luck usually is.

Looks like your luck is marginally better than mine. :lmao: Hey, sometimes boring weekends are the best kind. Ours was busy and I can barely keep my eyes open this morning!

So I got the kids packed up this morning - or rather Lyzzie did. She is such a good helper when there is money for Disney involved! Got them off to Mom's house and said my goodbyes, which I always hate doing. Mom asked if I had any special instructions, and I only had two: Take care of my girls and bring them back alive. I always worry when I'm not with them -- I can't even imagine what kind of nervous wreck I'll be once they hit the teen years.

Not much on the agenda for today and that's just the way I like a Monday. Have a great day everyone!

I got the following in an e-mail today and thought I'd pass it along. It's pretty funny.

DOG DIARY

8:00 am - Dog food! My favorite thing!

9:30 am - A car ride! My favorite thing!

9:40 am - A walk in the park! My favorite thing!

10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing!

12:00 PM - Lunch! My favorite thing!

1:00 PM - Played in the yard! My favorite thing!

3:00 PM - Wagged my tail! My favorite thing!

5:00 PM - Milk bones! My favorite thing!

7:00 PM - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!

8:00 PM - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!

11:00 PM - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!

CAT DIARY

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.

Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. bast**ds!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now...

That is great that Lyzzie is such a good helper. Colton is that way sometimes.

Pozey...that is a riot!!

Lyzziesmom...Try not to miss your girls too much!

The Baptism went very well yesterday. Lilly fell asleep during Mass, only to be woken up when she was dunked in the font! Poor baby, she only criedout once. Then she was great. She was wrapped in towel and the priest carried up to the front of the church while everyone clapped. Then he lifted her high up for everyone to see. The first thought that came to everyone's mind....Lion King!!! We had a Magical Disney Moment!!

Nick has a doctor's appt in a little while. Just a sports physical and some booster shots. Then I will post a few pictures. Don't have many. Blake forgot the camera. My sister Melissa had her's but for some reason the pics were coming out blurry. Zach's mom took some but I haven't gotten them from her yet.

Have a great one!!

Michele: Can't wait to see the pictures. Forgot the camera, how dare he?? I let Lyzzie bring my old digital camera with her this week so she can take pictures if she wants - she probably won't though. She always forgets to. That's funny that you mention the Lion King, that scene has always reminded me of a baptism.

Speaking of the Lion King, do any of you remember the Lion King show that used to be in the MK where Philharmagic is now? I loved that show and really miss it - the opening scene always made me cry. It used parts of the movie combined with live-action puppetry. I don't know why they got rid of it. It would have fit it nicely at MGM, it always reminded me a little bit of the Little Mermaid show over there, the way they both tell the whole story in less than 15 minutes using movie clips and puppets.

Morning all!

Pozey - that email is hilarious! :lmao: the crazy thing is that I can seriously see my cat thinking that. I wonder about her sometimes...

glad to hear everyone had fabulous weekends! I ended up at the mall yesterday (of course) but my sister and I went in for lunch and a movie so I only spent minimal amounts of money this time ;)

Good Morning!!!

Michele, I can't wait to see pictures.

Lyzziesmom, I never got to see the Lion King show. I did find it on You Tube, so I'm going to try and watch it. Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lion+king+show+Magic+Kingdom

pozey, that email sounds like my dogs. Leary (pug) is more like a cat and I swear he thinks like that. Cyprus (boxer) is definitely acts like the dog.

My weekend was ok. We didn't really do much. I had big plans for moving furniture and organizing Mike's closet, but instead I didn't nothing. :sad2: I have been so tired lately and just didn't feel up to working.

I'll be in Ann Arbor - Grad school at University of Michigan - putting off the real world for two more years

Thanks for all the well wishing for my great aunt. She looked tired yesterday but she seemed happy. All the family was there so it was a fun day and absolutely beautiful out!

Linda - what a finish on that race last night! At least it was worth staying up for! My parents are big NASCAR fans - we used to go to the race at Watkins Glen every year.

It's way too hot out to be doing anything today but we're heading to the mall to return some stuff and I'm getting a new bed set for my apartment in MI :yay: . My sis and I might take in a movie - she's not feeling all that hot at the moment though so that's up in the air.

(PS - that Tink room sounds fabulous - why didn't Disney have a paint line when I was a kid??? and don't feel bad about getting covered in paint - my ceiling is only white and I think I was wearing half the paint can after I repainted it last winter )
Have you ever been to Cedar Point??? Maybe we'll have to have a mini meet sometime up there:banana:

I couldn't believe the end of the race EEK when they have to go back and review to be sure..you know it was so darn close!! My husband is a huge Jimmie Johnson fan. I've asked him a few times if he wants to go to any races..esp since Daytona is close to wdw ROLF but he has no desire to go to the track. Mostly b/c his back problems, but hey, it saves me a bunch of $$$ so I'm not going to complain:rotfl2:
Sounds like the mall was a good time whoo hoo!

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast DOnna!

Lesa- That is too funny about you being covered in paint! I'd like to see pics too!

Michele- I can't wait to see pics of Lilly's baptism!

Linda- I can't wait to see pics from the zoo! A bikini! I'm sure Mike enjoyed it!

I saw Transformers yesterday and it was so good!
I have to torture him somehow:lmao: and it is a good reminder to get my butt in gear and get on the elliptical more ;)

I was disappointed - and my friend was ticked - she discovered yesterday before coming over that you can't get that beer anywhere here! So - she brought Sam Adams and I had the usual rum & fruity. I can't drink beer anyway - it gives me a headache! But I used to love wheat and honey wheat beers, especially with a little squeeze of lemon!

We've got another beautiful, warm day today - but I'm inside watching a TIVOed show "The Hand Behind The Mouse - the Ub Iwerks Story" - it's a great show! Lyzziesmom, have you gone to any of the of the old buildings that used to house the cartoon studios that Walt and Ub started there in KC? I think it would be fascinating to track down those old places, just to see them!

Well, my show is over - got to go work on a cruise for my office manager at work, then it's off to the pool for me.
sorry you didn't get the beer this weekend... but working on a cruise is always good even if it isn't for us to go

It really is a shame.

You can party and drink yourself silly at home, people!

We like SeaWorld better, there's more to do." Eeeek!
it is a shame... that would be cool.

maybe if they're drinking their nights away and sleeping the day away...they won't be slowing you down in the parks:rolleyes1
Lyzzie telling her about disney...too cute...but NOT need to go back to Disney b/c they've been there TWICE oh please...Erins comment just came to mind..."I just died a little bit":rotfl2: some people just do NOT get it! That's ok...shorter lines for us:snooty:

Hey Lyzziesmom!

The party is Friday and Saturday. We still have so much we need to do! That's so cute that Lyzzie was talking to a girl about Disney! (thumb) Some people just don't get it, do they. That's too bad your mom won't bring home the kittens. The Adventurer's Club is so much fun. You should try to go.
whoo hoo it's almost party time!!good luck!

Snack Time!

that sounds like a nice relaxing weekend!! Sat was the zoo and yesterday I was down in the disney room most of the day working on my project...printing the menus and puting them on 5x8 index cards...that are covered in nice bright colors and have scrapbook stickers and fun stuff all over them...gotta have some fun!! then I'll laminate them and make a book:cool1: I ran to Hobby Lobby and spend another $60 on scrapbook stuff... that stuff adds up too quick!

Take care of my girls and bring them back alive. I always worry when I'm not with them -- I can't even imagine what kind of nervous wreck I'll be once they hit the teen years.

Not much on the agenda for today and that's just the way I like a Monday. Have a great day everyone!
you are as bad as me...I hate when I'm not with Kenny!!! I miss out on so much:sad1:

I got the following in an e-mail today and thought I'd pass it along. It's pretty funny.

I only spent minimal amounts of money this time
that is always good!!

Good Morning!!!

I can't blame you. You really just have to kick back and relax sometimes. When it's so hot it is really hard to get motivated too! I can't wait to watch this link tonight! thanks for posting it.

We were watching tv Sat. night and a comercial for E-Harmony.com came on and Kenny turns to me and says "you didn't have to go to e-harmony to find Mike":lmao: :rotfl: nope sure didn't:rotfl2: then he says..."I won't have to go to them to find love either, I already have so many girls that love me":rotfl: :lmao: omg...it was hilarious!!!
