I'm still a GTY, no room assignment yet. I called Disney and asked for 5th floor Aft, no sixth floor. They told me I had to contact DU. So I sent them an email....who knows what's going to happen.

My luck, I'll get an upgrade to a CAT 5 and will refuse it and ask to be downgraded to a Cat 6 and be put on the 5th floor. I'll get the upgrade because I don't want it.
:confused3  :confused3

But if you get 6 aft we would be neighbors! (We already have our cabin number - Cat 6)

We are planning on staying for 4 nights at the DL hotel. Do you think this will be too long? We figured it would be so crowded with the holiday week-end that we would take it easy and swim at the pool during the day and go in the park for dinner and for the evenings. Are we going to be bored?

We have done 5 days at DL/DCA and not been bored. They may not be open late on week days that time of year though.

I took from a studio as well as at the school. This was my high school.

I was an original student and our first year we had to dance at the American Legion because the building was not completed yet.
At the studios I took ballet, tap, jazz and modern. At school we had ballet, jazz, modern, and on Friday's we would have a special class of lyrical, musical theatre, hip hop or something new that the teachers chose.
We had lots of master classes with professionals like Gus Giordano, Anne Reinking - she was the secretary in Annie...she is a FANTASTIC musical theatre dancer.
I don't know what my favorite is I think they all build on each other. I gravitated to lyrical, modern and muscial theatre. We did many productions and I also was in shows at Theatre Winter Haven and at Florida Southern. I would love to audition here, we have several theatres but I don't have the time!!

My DD took from Gus when she was 10 for a year. She was the youngest one being that he doesn't like to teach under 15 but he made an exception for her. She danced all around the world and was asked to move to California when she was 14 but her dad and I thought she was too young. She was accepted at Alvin Alley for the summer program when she was 14. She was in a movie with Mick Jaggar, as a dancer. Ya'll will lots to talk about!

Wow, how awesome!

We couldn't cope without our afternoon naps on the cruise! And even then, after dinner we generally just take a quick stroll around deck 4 before heading to bed. It must be the sea air, but we find it so tiring doing nothing! :rotfl:

Not sure how the change of time zones will affect us on this cruise. Hopefully it won't be too bad, as usually we find going west isn't as bad as going east. Although that may be because flying west we're going on vacation whereas flying east we're heading back to work. ;)

I am expecting John to sleep the cruise away!! He is usually bad on holiday, particularly in the US. I tend to wake early and go for a coffee letting him sleep in a bit, but 8am is just about the absolute limit! The holiday goes quick enough as it is!:lmao: However, we do tend to go to bed earlyish. I think the dinner will go on a bit , so it may be a walk, like you, and then bed.

Mmm, I went to ballet classes until I was about 11 and then 2 things happened. My dancing school moved too far away and I got a little too fat!

I'm sure we'll need afternoon naps as well.

I spoke with my Grandma last night about mom and she knows what I meant. Mom is still not talking to me.

Sorry V.:confused3 Don't know what more you can do. Is she expecting an apology or something?

I know how you feel. Every time I go to Mexico or on a cruise my mom gets mad because I don't invite her.

oh well, hopefully she will get over it.

Today we are going to an Italian place for lunch on the budget manager. She is taking several of us to thank us for the work we did to help get the budget together. I thought that was nice and it's a place I have never been to before. Yum!

Hi Heather, glad you jumped in....I remember seeing some of your posts earlier in this thread.

I love your daughter's name....it's the name of a beach that I love. Is she your only child?? How old is she? Who is traveling with you on this cruise?

Glad you're joining us it's going to be a blast!!! Do you have your DISlime green tee shirt yet for our group picture???
:thumbsup2 :cutie: :thumbsup2

Thanks Ella, I actually was reading a Harlequin smut book and the authors name was Bethany LOL I just thought with our last name being Brittingham that it would go but now everyone calls her brittany for that. She is my 2 lb miracle and it actually means "house of God". She is 9 going on 40 as Holly can atest too and yes she'll be coming on the cruise. Tyler is usually her dance partner so shell be bummed . Holly has a cute picture of her and tyler dancing that maybe I can get her to post.

No, I dont have a tshirt yet but dont want to be left out so let me know.

I definitly need to join the champagne girls but Im surprised Holly hasnt started the " beer girls ":rotfl:

Hooray for Holly!! Take some time for resting up for the next semester and have tons of fun with Tyler.

Gee, I just love how everybody's making plans for me when I was just throwing ideas around! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I won't know until the first week of October if we can even go anywhere, but if we do, I don't think we'd go until Sunday because Tyler's at his dad's until Saturday. It's just too tiring to rush from his house to the airport and get wherever we're going almost at bedtime. Much easier to get up Sunday morning and leave. :thumbsup2

For me, it was always easier to get the kids on the plane and let them nap on the plane. That way if we go to where ever we were going by bedtime, the kids would fall asleep and in the morning be up raring to go where ever tp start our vacation.

Kaylee: Good job on all your hard work unpacking! Moving is so time consuming and hard, but very rewarding once you're all done and settled. Keep at it and you'll be done before you know it! :goodvibes

My goal....be completely unpacked by christmas. I figure that is reasonable. Scott's goal, done in a month!:scared1:

High School Musical 2 comes on tonight!
I like Danielle, too. I like Dick better than most the others, I think he is funny keeping the house so mad but he does go over board sometimes.

I really liked Dick at first because of the way he stirred things up, but he crossed several lines last week. Hopefully now with alliances switching he will become a bit nicer again. I actually think I want Jessica to win:confused3

Gainesville is about a 2 1/2 to 3 hr drive depending on who's foot is on the gas pedal. And yes that is where we go for the games!
HSM2 --- yeah! Party at V's tonight!
.
:lmao: gotta ask...who's foot is heavier:lmao:

V...how great! Do you still dance at all?
My grandmother was a dancer and danced a bit in NYC. When she got married she opened a studio and taught children. She kept it open until I was born and when I was 3 and was falling on my own feet, she decided I didn't get the genes and she stopped teaching! When my DD's started dancing I decided I wanted to tap, so I started taking classes 3 years ago. I am ok...but definately not great, but I have fun. Luckily my grandmother was able to see my practices a few times before she passed away.

Does she still dance? My mom's favorite dance group is Alvin...she sees them whenever they are anywhere around us.

I spoke with my Grandma last night about mom and she knows what I meant. Mom is still not talking to me.

sorry your mom is still upset. Hopefully it will resolve itself soon!

Fourmcds - I still think Jessica is brainless. While in college my DD destroyed all the cartilage in 1 ankle and some in the other so she does not dance seriously anymore. She did do dance team in college and plays around now. She still is much better than she thinks she is.

I think her brainless attitude is her game. I didn't like her until recently and there is just no one I really like in this season.

Deb, I emailed DU and put in a request for a plexiglas verandah wall!!:) They have had it added.:) Thanks for mentioning it!

And by the way.......

I'M DONE!
I'M DONE!
I'M DONE!
:dancer: :jumping1: :dancer: :jumping1:

LOVE THE PHOTO - I SOOOOO enjoy everyone's pictures!

Deborah, I know Marilyn invited you to join the Champagne Girls tasing party....but, let me invite you to join our ladies only high tea party. It will be held on the boat at Palos.

We lost UKangel/Mandy....she had to cancel....but Marilyn and Mandy were going to hold court and we would all learn Brittish slang and how it differs from our language. Would you like to join us and teach us some Scottish slang? Is it different from Brittish? It could be a lot of fun, would you please join us and teach us? I'll put you on the list.:coffee: :rolleyes1 :coffee:

Miss Deb - Did Jackie sign us up for this? I would LOVE to join the TEA! We once had tea with Mary Poppins in DL when they still used to do that - and I just LOVED IT! I HOPE I'm not inviting myself to something that isn't open to everyone. (HOW  embarrassing!!!!) Did I spell that correctly?

WELCOMES to all I've missed so far.

Cloudy here today and I just heard we are close to breaking records here heat wise - 25 days over 110 degrees. The record is 28 days in 1979 - but I think today will be cooler since we are protected from cloud cover.
