Thank you for your kind thoughts. Fortunately we are not affected, other than a layer of ashes on everything.

I hope others in Southern California are not affected either.

Woody

Were good too! Just super smokey and lots of ashes to hose down at work(S.B.) and at home(Oxnard). Malibu, Arrowhead Lake And down by Lisa are getting the worst, and Magic Mountain area too! So smokey last night that I wouldn't let the cat out, she was not to happy!

I'm so glad you guys checked in....I was worried about you.....glad to hear you're safe. Be careful of breathing with the smoke and the ash. Hope you stay safe! I'll be thinking about you!

Oregon Ducks 55
Washington Huskies 34

Our most hated rival - we don't like those stinkin Huskies.

Oregon moves up to #5 in all the polls.

Oregon #2 in the country in total offense and #2 in the country in scoring offense!

This could end up being a very special year.

Next victim - the USC Toejams

GO DUCKS!

Does he have a Medical Flexible Spending Account available where he works? It is too late for 2007 but if he has an FSA and it is calendar year he can get a pre-tax withheld from his paycheck beginning with the first pay in 2008. The beauty of the FSA is that you can file claims against it up to the contracted amount BEFORE all of the money has been with held form your pay.

In addition, since the money is pre-tax the buying power is greater - in a 30% tax bracket the $1000 deferred has the buying power of $700 after taxes. It is more bang for your buck.
I have no idea if he has this, but I'd imagine he does. We've just never talked about it.

I'm supposed to be packing, but I'm procrastinating.

Hi Marilyn!!!!! Hi Noel!!!!!!! Hi Lisa/dl and Lisa/cm!!!!!!! Hi Angie!!!!!

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
Hi right back! Have fun packing! I just love getting ready for a trip!

Opray has the guy on that is giving the speech that John put on the site. He is doing the pushups and all!
Thanks for telling me! I TIVo Opray everyday - I will check it out,

That is what it says on the sign right under "Welcome to Cleveland".
I saw a funny 30 Rock where the main character goes to Cleveland with her boyfriend. I've never been to Cleveland...it looked quite fun on the show!
ugh, I am still so stuffy. I am wondering now if I have developed allergies...?

I will be glad for tomorrow night when my head is nestled in a Disney bed.
Disney dreams!:cloud9: Doesn't get better than that!

Actually, I'm keeping track of the "master list" so I have everyone who PM'd me their info, so I have the majority of the ages of the kids (provided I was PM'd with the info). If you gals want it, just PM me with your email addresses and I can email you with a breakdown of ages. ;)
Do you have my boys info?

Thanks Deb, the fires are on all but our West side where we live. The high school across the street from us is one of the evacuation shelters. And sections of the town to our East have been evacuated. Air quality is pretty bad - you can see ashes floating about and smell the fires as well. Work pretty much sent everyone home so we've been hanging out watching the coverage on tv. Pretty scary knowing I can see the smoke plumes from our parking lot (Descano fire).

Thank you for your kind thoughts. Fortunately we are not affected, other than a layer of ashes on everything.

I actually have masks to wear if we have to go outside (I have asthma).

We figure having an evacuation shelter across the street is a sign they don't think this area is in any real danger of being hit by the fires. Although that could change at any time.

If we have to evacuate we'll probably go to a friend's house. Hopefully we won't have to...

Thanks, Noel,
I haven't heard anything about the airport closing but the 15 is closed in spots already.

Qualcomm is also one of the evacuation shelters. It's great that a lot of the shelters are allowing domestic pets in crates as I think having to leave pets is one reason a lot of people don't evacuate when they should.

It must be very difficult for you with asthma. I remember how thick it was in 2003.

The airport was closed in 2003 to both inbound and outbound flight because of zero visibility.

Sounds like they learned a lot from the evacuations in 2003. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your families that the fire will be under control soon!!

Insurance will now cover 50%, but not until AFTER we pay (meaning I pay) $2,500.00 each year. But it's better than nothing. I'm happy!

I agree that SOMETHING from the insurance company is better than nothing. We all sure pay high premiums for insurance that you would think things like this would be covered!!

Very good news to hear that you and Mrs. Woody are not affected by the fires.

Posting some pics from my friends Harvest Party we went to. It was so incredible and the kids had the best time (and so did we)....

After dinner she had the ice cream truck come and everyone got to pick what they wanted...my boys went with the snow cones (look at their faces, so happy)!!!

My friend (who was dressed as the Wicked Witch of the West, so not who she is either) is giving instructions and passing out bags for the kids to collect candy with...both boys came home with one pound of candy each :scared1: and it's not even halloween yet!!

The race is on....

Me and DS9 haming it up....(I'm really just a big kid at heart!!!)
MinegarParty037.jpg

Myself and a friend...if you can't already tell...she's dressed as Dorothy which was by coincidence, she didn't know the hotesses was going to be dressed as the Wicked Witch. Half the people dressed up, half did not (as you can see I'm part of the half that didn't  )

Congrats to Mark :cool1: So....did you let him keep his loot or did you snag it for DOD money onboard:lmao: ?

Great pics Lisa, looks like it was a ton of fun!

Pictures look great Lisa!

So I'm still debating...it is twice the price to fly direct. We would leave at 1pm, get in at 9pm. Or it is half the price to stop via Denver. Leave at 9am, get in at 9pm. I know it is a lot of DOD, but I'm so concerned we will be really, really tired after traveling all day. But then again, the direct flight won't be a walk in the park either. No matter what, traveling with a 2 year old (not to mention the other 3!) is work, work, work! I wish I could just decide and book it as I'm anxious to get our flights arranged... Lisa

Right now the cool $100 is on the fridge. But since he was a pirate in getting his butt in the chair (he pulled it out from under the guy before the poor guy could sit in it) I think it's only fitting he use it for DODs on the ship. ARG! pirate: :lmao:

That's too bad the direct flight is so much more expensive. When we booked our direct flights, they were only about $30 more per tix, which for $120 for all of us it is well worth it. I wanted direct because I'm very concerned about the airline losing our luggage at the connection point and/or us getting delayed at the connection point. That's happened to us more times than I can count and I so do NOT want to miss being on the ship. Maybe prices will come down for the direct flight?!? Let's hope....

When I booked the United flight from SFO, which is the one I think you mean, I paid $174.40 r/t for each one of us. Has the fare gone up that much since then? SWA has a direct flight from SJC which has a few stops. I suspect the May window will open up in November if you don't mind a few stops.

I think you are much better off flying direct but if the stop doesn't include changing planes, the price sounds way more attractive.

Keep safe those near the fires. It does look frightening.

I think I am taking some Nyquil and going to bed. Hopefully I can get up early and finish packing!

Hope you wake up feeling better and ready to go.:)

It seems like everyone is packing tonight....except for PJ....I'm sure she is finished already.....and Monica.....who gets to do all these great DISmeets and doesn't have to pack a thing. HA HA HA!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm not packing.........but then I'm not going anywhere.:sad2:

Thanks! I definitely won't have time tomorrow afternoon because my boss gets back tomorrow morning after being out of town since Thursday, so he'll be frantically trying to get caught up. It will be one of those days where I'm too busy to even go to the bathroom! :lmao: So I'll post tomorrow night after Tyler's in bed. This will be very convenient that the doc's office is on the 2nd floor of my work building. All I have to do is run up the stairs and back down again. And when Tyler has his full day of testing next week, I can go downstairs and work while they're doing that! :thumbsup2 Once his dad & stepmom find out I work in the same building, I'm sure they'll see that as a devious plot on my part. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'm totally KIDDING!!!! Just making light of how they've acted throughout this situation. :rotfl: Yup, the real me is coming back! :dance3:

:lmao: Always good to find something to laugh about Holly!!!

Not nice having the ash everywhere.

Oh...and the best part of the party was that my DH won the adult musical chairs competition...$100!!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

:dance3: That's fun!!!

Good morning!

Raining cats and dogs here too!

I saw a funny 30 Rock where the main character goes to Cleveland with her boyfriend. I've never been to Cleveland...it looked quite fun on the show!

All kidding aside, this is a fun and great place to live . . . If we could only win something!

Since you guys have known me here . . .

Ohio State loses in National Championship Football game
Ohio State loses in National Championship Basketball game (both times to Florida)
Our High School loses in the State Final Four
The Cavaliers lose in the NBA Finals
The Indians lose in the ALCS to Boston

I mean, can I get a break SOMEWHERE????
