Okay, now this is slow. We went to Outback for dinner tonite. I knew DH really needed a relaxing evening so I tried really hard not to think about the fact that we had no budget for this money. And on the way there he got distracted and drove into opposing traffic!!! He had to go up over the hump in the middle of the roadway to get back. And of course he has to "volunteer" again tomorrow at work.

Oh Nanu,
Everyone ok? The Outback is good.

Wow, I'll bet that was scary! My DH is working lots and lots of hours and is tired all the time so I pretty much do all the driving when we go out. I'm afraid he will fall asleep while driving. And I know what you mean about budgeting for dinners out. I had to think twice about ordering pizza for tonights dinner. I am planning for possibly having 1 or more weeks without a paycheck depending on when the new jobs pay period kicks in, especially since I am not sure when I'll get my vacation pay.

Oh yeah, I've never been to Outback, but there is one right next door to the Weight Watchers meeting place I go to and it smells really good when I walk out of the meetings!

Well, being 18 would make my children...my siblings! Ever watch the movie You've Got Mail? Tom Hanks' brother is about 4 and his aunt is about 8. Although, my mom had an aunt who was 5 yrs older than she was.

I have a nephew that's one year OLDER than I am. ;) Figure that one out! :rotfl:

I think the thing with retainers is funny. My DS had a permanent thing put on his lower teeth, and the thing for his upper teeth he (is supposed to) wear at night!

I wanted that permanent thing, but apparently my ortho doesn't do it. :confused3 This whole thing would be a HECK of a lot easier if I didn't have to deal with the bottom one randomly coming off in the middle of a sentence. :headache:

they called back pretty quick!

So she has a bulging disk in her lower back. That showed up on the CT scan. (I guess she has not had an MRI done like I thought she did) so more than likely they will be sending her for an MRI. I explained that I would not be at the appointment but Grandma would be there. They have my permission to talk about treatment and stuff in front of Grandma so she can relay the info to me. And Grandma can set up the appointments for furthur treatment and the MRI since she will be the one going with her. This doctor has no evening or Saturday appointments :confused3 Last appointment time is 3:30. :confused3

So she will be sending me a copy of the doctors notes a few days after her appointment. I was also informed that once DD turns 18 (Dec. 27) I will not be able to get information from them unless DD gives permission in writing. That Hippa stuff kicks in for her then. Funny how I'm paying for her and it's my insurance but they can't talk to me then. I understand why, it is just weird.

Treatment could be more physical therapy, cortisone shots or surgery depeneding on severity of the bulge. That will show with the MRI I guess.
She has been doing PT but they were doing it based on a different diagnosis, thinking it was her hip and a muscle problem not a spinal problem. If it's pressing on a nerve that could be why she has pain through her hip and leg. I wish we would have seen this doctor over a year ago instead of dealing with regular doctors. With insurance companies you have to go through so much crap to see a specialist.

But at least now we know what is wrong we just need to figure out how to treat it.

I'm glad you finally found out what it really was!

I feel like I'm in the Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds"...there's about 4,316,952 blackbirds outside. It's VERY noisy.

:lmao: :lmao: We saw a bunch of blackbirds the other day when we were walking into Wal-Mart. Mom commented on them and I said they were coming for us. :teeth:

Here's a pic of the new castle lights at night. They were testing them and this person caught a pic of it.

I'm excited!!!!!

:faint: It is SO beautiful! The Mickey Monitor (passholder newsletter) came yesterday and on the front cover is the fully-lit Christmas Castle. I did this , then this :), then this . I'm in love... :)

My good day ended rather abruptly. DH's friend's father passed away of a massive heart attack. The freind is an only child and I'm guessing even though he is 50 years old it will be rather hard on him. That plus his Mom was totally dependent on the Dad. She doesn't drive or anything. I just saw the Dad last weekend, he shopped where I work. He came up to me while I was cashing and jokingly said "I see you got demoted again"

Such a nice man. :sad1:

Of course now with the new job starting Monday I can not take a day or even a morning for the funeral so DH will have to go by himself.

 I'm sorry. :sad1:

Yeah, I missed that last part about the forever, and my teeth got all crooked on the bottom.:sad2:

:scared: I'm so afraid of that! When most people are trying to get out of wearing their retainers I'm WANTING to wear them to avoid any relapse of crookedness.

Oh yeah, I've never been to Outback, but there is one right next door to the Weight Watchers meeting place I go to and it smells really good when I walk out of the meetings!

I bet that's REALLY nice to walk out of a WW meeting to... Kinda testing the resolve there. ;)

Hmm, today we were out late because of karate belt testing, so we stopped by Arby's to get some dinner (we like, never get Arby's so it was like a treat sort of). Well we got in the store and they tell us, "Oh, we're out of roast beef." :headache: That's like KFC being out of chicken! So we had to drive a ways away to find another one.

See y'all later!

Good Morning! :sunny:

Matt's slipping...you'd think it was a weekend or something.:rotfl:

Nanu...I hope everything's all right.

NP...Arby's was out of RB?????:scared1: They might as well close til they get more!!!:scared1:

My cold is improving! And DH wasn't coughing as much yesterday. Knock on wood, laminate, plastic, steel, cloth, etc., etc., etc.

Good Morning!

Here is a link to pictures of WLV

I hope it's ok to post a link to that site here.

This is a slide show with lots and lots of pictures in it! And it's the right one!;) :lmao:

Thanks Nancy...I had seen them but today I took the time to look at them :upsidedow . I sounds like it is a very relaxing resort...but of course we all know how relaxing a resort at Disney can be ;)

:scared: That's not good Nanu! Hope he got some needed sleep and can take some time for himself on Sunday...Glad that no one got hurt..

Can't be that but I do have a niece that is 3 years younger than me.

Me too!!!

We had something similar happen to us at a Dunkin Donuts in NH...What??? No donuts!!!

Just a very quick hello and goodbye before I head off to my

LAST DAY of work at Wegmans!

This is how I feel today :woohoo: :sad1: .

I'll check in later to let you all know how it was. I'm scheduled till 6:00 but I'm leaving as soon as all my paperwork and filing is caught up. I have to clean out my file cabinet and pack up my stuff too. Then we have the wake tonight and after that I head out to the combined going away party.

Sounds like a busy day/night. Good thing I'm off tomorrow, although there is a football game (just not sure if I'm going to go)

Tammy...a question... How do you like SSR? I'm thill thinking here.:3dglasses :scratchin

We're staying there on this upcoming trip. This is our home resort. Our first thought was that we'd probably never stay here or at least not often because it closely resembles home here in VT. No palm trees etc..The real Saratoga Springs NY is just 2 hours from us...However....we stayed there last October...It was really VERY nice! The pool was great, it has a zero entry so the kids loved playing close to the edge..they could walk into the pool...The decor was nice..the transportation wasn't bad either..We took the boat to Downtown Disney but if you felt like walking there is a path for you. The resort is HUGE and they've opened up another whole phase since we stayed there. Our room was in the Springs, closest to the lobby area and we loved it there. The bus was very closeby as were the pool and restaurants. We've requested a room in the same area this trip (I know...there are no guarantees!)

My co-worker stayed there last fall and wouldn't stay again unless she got a room closer to the lobby area. Hers was in the newest section, farthest from everything! She said that even the walk from the bus stop that was closest to her was long. She said that they had to take a bus to the lobby area to grab dinner or soda's...I feel that these rooms should be reserved for those people that bring their own cars (my opinion) or request rooms away from everyone else :confused3

The restaurant (Artist's Pallette) was small compared to Port Orlean Riverside and I didn't like that when you buy food you are also using the same check-out as the gift shop (which is very small). The sit down restaurant (started with a "T" I think :rotfl2: ) was very good. Of course, you are so close to DTD that finding something good to eat is really not that difficult.

Overall..we really liked the resort...we'll see how this changes though once we find out where are room is this time! ;) :rotfl2:

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR LAST DAY AT WORK!!!!

Remember that they are going to miss you way more than you are going to miss them! And have a great time at your party!!!!

Thanks Tammy! I've been reading up.:rolleyes1 Seems people like Grandstand or Congress Park. I'm gonna look at that map again. I also saw there was one check out for food and gifts.:confused3 Saves on personnel, but if you want to eat HOT food...:confused3

I'm going to look at the map too! Congress park is the one closest to DTD. It's a long walk to the lobby area but you get a great view of DTD and of course, the path is right there. I think Grandstand is one of the newer areas that was set to open right after we left...I'll check it out...BRB

I checked the map out..We were in the Springs section 4101 to 4436. Our room faced the water and the bridge that crossed to the section wayyyy back there. We could see the fountain etc...very nice!

Our friend was in the Carousel section in the area marked 7101 to 7436 in the farthest room in that building :lmao: The Grandstand area was the one that was about to open when we left...It looked very nice and we could easily see it from the main lobby. I wouldn't mind staying there either...

Sheesh!!! I see what you mean on the map! Part of Grandstand looks close too.

From what I understand, it's a very relaxing resort.

How were the buses? I've read over on the DVC board that they weren't too bad...15 min. waits...no sharing with other resorts. The CR buses go to ALL the MK resorts.

I've also found that Jan. is not crowded, generally speaking.

I should correct that...I don't remember stopping at GF.

It was a relaxing resort...not a lot of hustle bustle...
The buses weren't bad at all...about 15 mins is right and that is if you just missed the one you wanted :upsidedow Many times we didn't have to wait at all and we never had to stand while riding :thumbsup2 Jan is not usually crowded. Some friends of ours went in January and said that there was never any lines to wait in...The downside to going in January for most people is that it's not HOT out. That's not a biggie to me so I'd go whenever I could!

How far out do you, personally, usually book non-home resorts? Are there busy times for DVC that are not busy times at WDW in general?

I just saw pictures of Va. Beach from yesterday. I hope Lynn made it ok.

Ohhh... I knew that she was going there but didn't realize that they were getting hit from the tropical storm...Hope everything is OK with her...Maybe she'll check in from her DD's computer
