I believe you just tell them when you get there. I'm not sure if ALL have it but I think so.

The 6" cakes are $12.50 + tax and you have a choice of vanilla w/ vanilla or chocolate w/ chocolate. If you have a preference to either, you should call so they can note it in your ADR.

I want to do a Happy Mother's Day cake. Was told they would put that on the 6 inch cake if I pre-ordered it. Is there a table service restaurant that would give us a bigger choice of options for the cake? She loves chocolate. We are staying at AKL and have reservations at Boma but could change restaurant.

Do I need to mention everything to our server or will everything be set when I call and order. I'm disabled and in a wheelchair so it would be hard for me to do something without her knowing once we get there. Thanks!

Try 1900 Park Fare or Coral Reef.

Ok thank you. They told me the same flavors as Boma. Maybe they have changed.

If you do any restaurant in the GF (we really enjoyed GF Cafe last trip) then you have lots of choices through the GF Bakery :thumbsup2 Now those choices will cost a bit more to a lot more than the $13 cake but it's an idea  And it gives you the ability to order and have it delivered with the flavors/decore of your choice :thumbsup2

Good luck!

This was our wedding cake Feb 9 of this year. We ordered it from Publix and picked it up and took it to our 2 bdrm Villa at OKW ourselves, no big deal.

It was listed in their catalogue as a Groom's Cake titled "Macho Moccha", rofl.

We ordered it with yellow cake inside and fresh strawberry filling between the four layers. The frosting was the most amazing chocolate fudge. Delicious! Oh, and it only cost $102.00

I was jealous of my own wedding cake! Our guests raved about it. Publix also does mini cakes of any of their specialty cakes and we plan to order two for our first anniversary (as there was none left!)

Thanks!!! We actually changed our plans and upgraded to the Poly and added a night so now I'm not sure what to do.

Hey! Thanks to everyone for the advice and I came back with photos of DH's birthday cake.

I ordered from Boardwalk Bakery because we were staying at the Dolphin and it was easy to pick up from there. It was an 8 in. vanilla with white chocolate mousse filling and white chocolate frosting. It was sooo delicious, we all loved it. The frosting was the same type of smooth texture as the frosting on one of those Pepperidge Farm cakes you can get in the frozen section, but the flavor was outstanding! It was so much better than an average birthday cake. Extremely moist, too.

Anyway here are the photos:

I would highly recommend it and we all considered it a good buy for $25.

I'd love to do a "welcome to Disney" cake for my kids' first day (Chef mickeys) or something for our last night (LTT dinner). Which would you recommend?

Would you mind a third option???

I'd have it delivered to your room the first day. What a fun way to start off the trip and then you'd have it all week to enjoy :thumbsup2

Also, Chef Mickey's has fun and yummy deserts so I wouldn't want the cake there. And I wouldn't want to have to tote it out of the MK to have it at the LTT ;)

Here are pictures from my birthday. We stayed at BWV in a studio and it was fabulous. DBF had a cake delivered to the room from the Boardwalk Bakery. The cake was marble in the middle... amazing.

This cake is beautiful! My family will be going in May along with my best friend and her family. Her daughter is going to be turn 6 while we are there. We have reservations at Chef Mickey and she would love this cake. Do you mind me asking how much it was? :flower3: Thanks!

thanks Minnie! that is exactly what I am going to do. Since our first day together is July 4th, I am going to have a cake delivered to our room at the Poly for that day:thumbsup2

We're going in August and my mom's birthday is a few days after we leave but i wanted to have something special for her. We're staying at Old Key West. How do i go about orddering the cake. I want it to be delivered to the room and surpirse her when we get back from wherever we are. Who do i call and is it possible for the cake to be delivered from the boardwalk bakery????:confused3

Yes, that's a terrific idea! We ordered a birthday cake for my son at LTT. It was nice, but frozen solid. We actually took the hot cobbler and poured over pieces to make it soft enough to eat.

Then the staff told us they wouldn't hold it for us. Nor could they take it in the back for the staff to eat. We ended up giving it to the table next to us.

Having it in the room would give you an opportunity to eat it for a few days.

I have an idea. Would everyone be interested in a sticky thread of just cake pictures? I could organize it by location, and add the date posted. This thread has grown to 200 pages now. That's a lot of pages to skim for ideas.

I would update it once a week with pictures added from this thread. We could keep it clean, keeping the questions and comments here.
Just a thought.

That's an interesting idea. This one will get locked soon anyway. I don't remember the limit but it's around 3200 posts. :confused3

We probably should have one for photos and one for comments/questions/information but it may be tough, getting people not to post on the photo thread with their questions/comments etc...about the cakes they see!

Halloweenqueen, that would be great! I love looking at the pictures of these delicious goodies and it would be great to see where they are from. Thanks!
