I have a question about SW credits. Are they transferable? If I get my tickets now and then a lower price comes up and I get a credit, can I transfer them to another family member? My sister flys all the time, but my family does not fly very often. If I had a credit I could sell to her down the line, it would make it worth it for me to book now. Prices were higher than I had hoped and I'm trying to figure out what to do. I have little ones so I REALLY want nonstop. I don't want those to fill up and go away if I wait.
Thanks!
One thing to keep in mind....if you book now, hoping for a price decrease later...the price decrease may be LESS likely to happen since the plane will already be more full of passengers, like yourself, who book at the higher rate. kwim? If the plane is already getting full, no need to offer many discounts. Thanks Mommyto5! That's what I was hoping for!!!
I think I will book today.
Do I have this right???
My departing flight is $193.
It is a Wanna Get Away ticket.
I know that these ares are nonrefundable but may be applied toward future travel on Southwest Airlines.
So if I get them and then cancel them if a cheaper prices comes out...does that mean that I have a credit with Southwest for $193, and that $193 is applied to the cheaper ticket.
Wouldn't I end up having credit with Southwest that can't be used since the tickets would be cheaper.
We were booking with a friend - we both clicked - order - at the same time and her's was kicked back with an $11 per person each way more expensive flight! Unreal.
Let's say the flight goes from $193 to $143...$143 of that credit would be applied to the NEW ticket, leaving you with $50 excess credit.
That $50 credit would have to be used on a FUTURE SW flight, no later than the expiration date of the credit (which is one year from the date the original ticket was purchased. So...purchase today, and any credits that result from changes to those flights expire on 6/26/09)
