My family will be heading down to South Carolina later this week.

Last month my cousin lost her husband. Last night she lost her dad. He had a heart attack while at a BBQ in SC. His wife (my mom’s sister) keeps saying she just buried her son-in-law, now she has to bury her husband.

Once again our whole family is in shock. No one expected this.

My aunt and uncle were married for 38 years. I can’t imagine her without him.

I am surviving so far... (yeah no tall buildings to jump off of in Fredneck)

I am having lunch tomorrow with some peeps from my old office...

We'll see if going back there is a possibility...

I know i need to find something though... It makes it hard to even look being this close to the trip...

I feel doomed.... (and not being able to cancel stinks too... since trip insurance won't cover a job loss that is under 3 years)

I might have to stay away from here for awhile.... I'm just not feeling the excitement...

K, we'll miss your wit and humor if you're not posting much, but totally understand. We'll keep you in our thoughts and hope that something much better comes along soon. Let us know if there's anything we can do.

Since I found out last weekend that we're going on a cruise, he told me today exactly what cruise we're on! WOOO HOOOOO!!!

Now I can "officially" find things out about the cruise and I can sign up on the Roll Call now! I'm headed off to the Pirate boards!

Congrats Jen I think we can arrange a luncheon reception in Parrot Cay on embarkation. Just need to know what time do you want to do the reception line.

You know how when you board and go to Parrot Cay and they try to steer you up to the buffet?? Can you imagine all of us showing up mob style demanding entrance. Love it!!!

They were circling by our house last year too & we ran inside & watched them fly over the esplanade. Last year there were about 5, but this year there was only 2. It was really loud when they buzzed the crowd. Taylor got a great video of them on her phone.

I have to say, that will probably be the one & only time we head in to town for the fireworks. I told the kids I thought it would be a nice treat to see such a great fireworks show & Cade said, "Next time you want to treat us, bring us for an icecream!" I said, "But weren't those fireworks great?" And you will all appreciate this response...."Disney's are better!" Spoken like a true Disney Fan!!!

No Fly-By here on the 4th . I don't understand - they always circle before they head into Boston (Sox game, Esplanade) .

So Cade wasn't impressed . Probably would have been less hassle to take him to WDW for a fireworks show

K I feel for you. What should be the one of the happiest times in your life and you can't enjoy it You are a strong person and you will make it through this, it is only going to take time. We will be here for you if you need us.

On my family's first trip to WDW, 1984, my dad lugged around a huge shoulder-braced camera attached to a VCR is a shoulder case. The batteries alone had to weigh 15 lbs.

Sounds like the one my family had. And it was "state of the art"!

I went to the sale too! They had mini purell bottles for a penny...I went and grabbed a few of them to take on excursions with us!

I had my first cruise related dream.. for some reason ibounce was there and i had my sunglasses on and she helped me find my cabin. Only it wasn't a DCL set up for cabins but was similiar to the one that i took with my parents for my Dad's 70th b'day years ago. Then i asked her why she was there 'cause she wasn't supposed to be ( was in the WB Cruise) and she said she figured that she would go on this cruise too and be my roomie.. then Eric ( DS#2) showed up in the cabin and he said as long as DH wasn't there that he was there.. i then went to dinner .. what a strange dream.. ..

We had a good trip to Ohio..............my mom lives in West Salem Ohio, very small town. There is a fireworks store about 2 houses down from where my moms lives. DH had to go check it out and spent WAY TOO MUCH $$ on fireworks. BUT, we did have a nice display in the back yard on July 4th. On Saturday night around 9pm, the same fireworks place went up in flames and we got the fireworks display of our lives...........it was spectacular. This same store burnt down just 2 years ago........not sure if they will rebuild again.

Thank goodness noone was hurt!

I had a great three day weekend. Didn't go anywhere at all on Saturday. Friday we went to Home Depot to pick out new lights for the house. OUCH, we needed 6 of them including a new post light. Then of course we had to get energy efficient light bulbs for them and paint for the light post and so it goes. And I got the dowel for my FE. DH spent most of the weekend finishing the painting and putting up all the lights. And I managed to get some cruise related chores done.
1. Altered my dress for the Princess formal night
2. Finished the top part of my dress for the first formal night (at least I won't be topless )
3. Finished one FE gift and started on the other
4. Did some trial runs on some items for the scrapbook swap
5. Finished Barbara Walters' book (OK not cruise related, but fun)
6. Filled out my online check in

I am anxiously waiting for Disney to book my flights. TA says 30 days out (only 10 to go). I have to make arrangement to get to and from the airport. Hopefully we will leave early on Sunday and with the time difference still get there in plenty of time. But getting DD up early on her day off is another story...and she usually has to work Holidays so I may have to find someone else to pick us up.

The only bad thing about the whole experience is that DD went with me and now she thinks that she needs to get married on the Mickey ship too.

I don't remember how much the tolls are on the Beachline (528) but, if you choose to use the 417 you will get on from the Beachline (Beeline) around the airport. I just checked my sun pass account and the last time we used the 417 from Disney to the airport there were two $1 tolls and one 75 cent toll. I'm not sure if entering from the Beachline if there is one additional toll. The road has a lot of tolls but it is so much less stressful. The last cruise we left the port and used the Beachline then the 417 and it took us less than an hour to get to WDW. The only problem on the 417 is that at the exits the toll booths are unmanned -- so it is either pass or exact change. Make sure you have quarters. I think the last toll exiting at Disney is either 50 or 75 cents.

This may sound confusing if you have any other questions you can PM me. Right now I'm not at home but after 7/26 I will be and can ask DH since he is usually the one driving.

Yeah, don't forget the quarters. We have stopped and searched for quarters TWICE at that toll with no luck. Thankfully, we didn't get a ticket for driving through.
