Hi. I have lots of questions, this one is about going w/o kids, please tell me your experience: was it what you thought it would be, or better? was there enough adult things to do?

Have you been on other cruises, not disney, and what made you choose Disney?

i'm thinking about going w/ Disney Cruise. I really want to go to the caribbean and to Castaway Cay, the price seems a little higher than a week at Disney World...

Definately enough stuff to do....structured & non....loved the time I spent on the comfy seats outside the Cove Cafe :thumbsup2

I have sailed 4x on Disney - 3x on the Wonder (2 3nt, 1 4nt) and 1x on the Magic (15 nt WBPC).....always with only adults. Actually the 4nt & the 15th I was solo, even though I did know people on the ship. Have a 7nt w/ Tortola booked for 2009. 1st planned trip w/ kids (niece & nephew) is 2012.

I chose Disney cuz I love Disney and had heard amazing things about DCL. Great service, good food, great island (LOVE Castaway Cay). I have only cruised on DCL, and as long as DCL goes where I want to go I will go on DCL. If 2010 rumors of the Northern European/Baltic region - I'm there.

GO FOR IT!

We have been on 8 Disney cruises, all without kids. We love it. We have met many friends while cruising with Disney.:goodvibes

Disney is awesome w/o kids :cool1: Plenty to do and you can avoid most. About to take my 5th cruise (4th w/o). We love kids and get to see all the little ones having fun but still enjoy adult time for us.

we have cruised once with kids and once without. We have booked one without and one more with. We are planning on booking another without kids on our next cruise that is about 30 days away.
my wife is a chicken@#$%. She will not fly or go on a boat where she cannot see land. But being Disney, she said that pixie dust will help keep her safe. So we boarded cautiously the first time and ran on the second time and cant wait for the third time........
There is so much to do on an adult only trip on DCL, or not do.

We have sailed DCL several times - all with our kids. We are leaving in 15 days for our anniversary - adults only - I can't wait! :yay: I'll let you know how it compares when we get back!

DH and I have done four Disney cruises, all without kids. We had a blast!
We spent lots of time at the Spa (Rain Forest Room), the adult pool, the clubs, the Coffee house and of course the adult beach on Castaway Cay.

There was PLENTY to do, and we were seated with all adults at dinner.

We have never sailed on another cruise line, so I can't compare, but we LOVE DCL.

We did the Disney cruise soley for the joy of taking a toddler. I personally would not sail DCL as an adult without children. Adult oriented ships generally have a better quality of food, less anxious parents and a more upscale dress code. It all boils down to what type of environment you are looking for, DCL is definitely geared to kids.

I've sailed on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean each once, and Disney twice all without kids. Definitely the best experience of them was Disney. Disney does an excellent job of allowing adults to have as little or as much interaction with small children as you wish. We love watching the kids with the princesses, but prefer to have our adult time as well. Disney does have more event aimed at children, but you can avoid those easily if you wish.

I'll have to disagree with the previous poster about the food. Disney food was the best of the three for us. Celebrity was pretty close, but RCCL tasted like they had microwaved the food and threw it on the tables.

Ah, but what about those of us who are kids at heart? I just sailed on the speical 5 nighter to Castaway Cay, and I heard that there were only 500 kids on board, and the ship was fully booked. So there were definitely more adults on board. I must say, the adults were having all the fun. The adults were in the movie theaters, the adults were running around on board enjoying themselves, the adults were signing up for classes, the adults dressed up as pirates, and were up late on Deck 9 watching Pirates of the Caribbean, after the buffet!!! Oh, and by the way, there were about 200 DIS'ers on board. (they were the real party animals)

Sorry, Olga, DW and I have to disagree with you too. We have been on 10 cruises, all without kids (nine on DCL and one on HAL). DCL without children is fabulous. The adult-only areas, including the pool, spa, gym and clubs make for an incredible cruise experience. We also agree with the poster who said that the food on DCL is as good or better than other lines. Palo, IMHO, is not only adults-only, but also one of the best experiences in food, land or sea.

Cannot wait until Sunday when we're off on our eleventh DCL kids-free cruise. A nice martini in the Cadillac Lounge, coupled with some relaxing piano music. Counting down the (few) days to go!!!

I'll take my martini straight up with 3 olives please.

Dh and I went on our first DCL cruise in Jan 2008. We did a 7 day western. We absolutely loved it! If money and time allows I hope to plan another for May 2009!

was it what you thought it would be, or better? was there enough adult things to do? It was even better than we thought. wE LOVED THE INTIMACY AND HIGH END LOOK OF THE SHIP, the amazing dining, we went to the spa...did martini and wine tastings, hung out at the adult pool, had brunch and dinner at Palo.We went to the adults only district in the vening. Disney found a great way to keep adults and children seperate if adults so choose.

Yes I have been on other cruises but not compared to the level of service and quality on dcl imo.

Our first Disney cruise was our honeymoon!! We had an incredible time. The food was amazing, the service incredible, and so many activities to choose from. The entertainment on board was nothing less than what you'd expect from Disney--unbelievable Broadway caliber shows, and I'm picky about that!!
There are plenty of 18+ areas and activities as well.
We've been on two DCL cruises since then, with our kids and we've already booked our next DCL reservation...this time without kids again!

We have done 63 Disney cruises without kids, so you can guess that we think it's a pretty good trip for adults. We LOVE the adult-only areas, which are sorely lacking on RCCL (they had some in name only, with NO enforcement).

We just went on our fifth DCL cruise, the fourth one without kids. We love it. One of the very best vacations you can take. Great crew members, good food, good drinks and good times.

I enjoyed my first Disney cruise on the Wonder, and I think it's an especially good choice for families. However, I prefer cruising with far fewer kids onboard.

Our first (and only so far, but that'll change in November) cruise was on our honeymoon and we LOVED it. There was so much to do both involving kids and not, and we just had a great time. :thumbsup2

We are kidless, middle aged Disney lovers. And we also love to cruise. I am not going to tell you that DCL is the only cruise to take ever, but I suggest you try one of them.

We cruise DCL (2 plus one in 2 weeks) and Celebrity (2 plus one in '09). They are like fruit to us. Yes, we love apples (DCL) and was also love oranges (Celebrity). They are both different, but both very good. Try them all!

PS I agree DCL is very expensive. We cruise off-season. We would never pay the high prices that they command during peak season (except for one Christmas cruise, which was a 4 day and not that bad). If we couldn't get a DCL cruise again at a great price I would just not cruise them. We love oranges!
