Wow! we could've used that...

Definitely as many have already said... extra baggies. I put my used ponchos in a big baggie and shake them out back at the resort to reuse them. Especially the rain comes and goes and comes again so I never want to be caught without a poncho! esp on that I just threw away!

We bring scented dryer sheets to throw in dirty laundry bags/basket. In most cases we can do a load or two of laundry but this is not always the case.

I carry a black backpack into the park. Why? Because all of the family has to share in carrying it.

Inside one sandwich bag: band-aids, triple antibiotic, roll of tumms, in a tupperware pill case (sudafed, tylenol, aleve) and a pair of ear plugs.

I have learned to also bring snacks. I buy individual bags of cookies, goldfish, fruit snacks and granola bars. I always throw a handful of these in my bag each am.

One box of cereal, cheap plastic bowls and spoons that I throw away when we leave. I buy milk at the gift shops and we eat a quick breakfast in the room. This year at Target I found individual cereal in bowls that you pour milk into.

2 large plastic cups. Sometimes in the hotel I just want a big glass of water and the little plastic cups just don't do it.

At Target last night I found a 4 use tide bottel for .99 in the travel section, just in case.

I always pack Palmolive dish-wipes... great for washing out the resort mugs

I've never seen the Palmolive dishwipes! I'm going to look for them tomorrow! But I read on a thread somewhere that they took sponges and cut them in half and then poured dish soap on them and let them dry - then packed them and used as needed. I thought that was a great idea but buying them at the store sound so much easier!!

Hand sanitizer and a extra pair of socks to take to the parks. Might as well say hand lotion also. I bought hand lotion and hand sanitizer from avon and already have them put back for my trip in december.

It has been my understanding you can no longer buy the palmolive dishwipes. At least in my area.

But if you take papertowels and wet them, put dishsoap on and let dry...it works. Personally...I just take a 4 oz bottle of dishsoap and use the hotel washclothes.

I bought a 20 Questions electronic game at Walmart for about $10 (it is as big as a tennis ball) and we played it whenever there was a line. It got to the point were we wouldn't even be in line and my kids would be asking for it. We got to get to know a lot of people too because they would play with us. It was a lot of fun.

We went low tech. We have the Disney Trivial Pursuit game and we took a stack of cards with us to pull out and read on line. Every so often we had a really good game of trivia going with other people in line. Very fun.

Clothes pins -- for hanging wet bathing suits & closing the drapes TIGHT

Ground coffee & filters

A ziplock filled with Tide powder

Aluminum Foil -- to line baking pans when heating pizza for the kids or to wrap up any leftovers (when we are in a DVC villa)

Goggles for the kids

A small soft-sided cooler for our water & snacks for the parks

First post! :cool1:
I wanted to ask about the ponchos. Do they keep your lower half dry? If you're on the Kali Rapids, water gets in the seat, if I remember correctly, and then you get wet, or are the ponchos long enough to cover that area?

Subscribing!!!

Just FYI you don't have to post to subscribe to a thread. You can also do this by clicking on "Thread tools" at the top of the thread and then "subscribe to thread".

Welcome to the boards.

Depends on the size of the poncho. Get 2 $1 ponchos and put one down and wear the other. My expereinces on Kali has been drenched with a poncho and drenched and by the end of the ride, the last thing on my mind was the water that was on the seat from the begining.

Have a good time on the boards.

how about......

swimming goggles, chewing gum for the plane...cant buy on property, seven up soda, wet ones and advil.

Dawn made some as well. I was so disappointed when (after searching everywhere for some more) I found out that they stopped making them.

this may have already been posted but just in case....if you are going during the summer buy some cheap washclothes. Put a few in a plastic sip lock baggie with some ice. You can use the washclothes to wipe hot faces, put on the back of necks, and keep your water cold. Also you can put that cold water bottle on the back of your neck to cool down.

THanks for the bump!

I am so grateful for all the ideas I just read on this thread!

I didn't have time (it would take a month and I have to meet my sister for breakfast in two hours) to read this all but this tip is so good it deserves another mention if it was mentioned already:

We are going to buy vaccum seal bags and seal one days worth of clothes in each bag to make room in our luggage for the flattened clothes! We have to pack winter and summer clothes because we are going in Feb so we need all the room we can get! Then we will have room for food items we plan to take but won't have to pack an extra bag for!

I hear Purex laundry detergent comes in sheets like dryer sheets. They are laundry detergent and fabric softner in one. Love the ideas that everyone has shared. This was one of the most beneficial threads in a long time.

Has anyone used the mobile phone website "Lines"? It is in a beta version and I wondering how accurate it is. Thanks!
