Our Very, Very Late Disneymoon TR!!! It's DONE!!

Day 5 (Wednesday) So, we got up ridiculously early (I am SO not a morning person) and made it to AK in time for rope drop! It was very cute.

Hi Mickey! (Pluto's so cute too, isn't he?)

IMG_3831-1.jpg

We walked into AK, and went over to the safari.

Monkeys!

IMG_3833-1.jpg

IMG_3834-1.jpg

We went on the safari, and took a TON of pictures, but I'll only put a few up here.

Here's the baby giraffe that wouldn't get off the road. (It held up the safari for a while.) :)

IMG_3902.jpg

The rhino got so close to us!

IMG_3908.jpg

IMG_3910.jpg

After the safari we took some pics by the Tree of Life, and then went to Expedition Everest.

Image29.jpg

Grr!

Image31.jpg

Aww, Baby Simba!

Image32.jpg

Here's some Everest pics. (I really liked this ride, going backwards on a coaster is great!)

IMG_3892-1.jpg

After EE we went over to Dinosaur! While we were in line, I asked the CM where I could find a sparkly temporary tattoo that I had seen on someone while we were at Typhoon Lagoon. I asked where they had gotten the tattoo and they said AK. Anyway, the CM didn't know, but she asked us to wait while she called someone to find out. We waited for a few minutes, and she not only told us where to find the tattoos, but she handed us Fastpasses "for making us wait!" It was so nice! I love WDW... So, after Dinosaur! I got my tattoo, and we went back to the GF to change before we spent our afternoon/evening at Downtown Disney.

Ooh are we going to see a pic of the tattoo?

The food at Citrico's looks amazing, making me hungry at the thought!

Out of interest, how intense is the orange side on SM?

Yes, the tattoo does make an appearance! :) Citrico's was SO yummy. About Mission: Space.. I LOVE roller coasters, but spinny rides make me ill. I know Mission Space spins, but I found that if I focus on the screen I actually feel like I'm flying in space, rather than spinning around. You feel the g-forces push you back as you're taking off, and then you feel like you're floating in space a bit. It's definitely intense, but a lot of fun!

We went back to the hotel to change, and while we were there I had to take some pics of the awesome rug in our lobby. :)

And of course, the hidden Mickey!

IMG_3946.jpg

DH took a pic of me in the elevator... (we're kinda silly that way)

IMG_3896-1.jpg

We wandered around for a while. (LOVE the Lego store!)

Me in the World of Disney store. (There's the Mickey tattoo!)

IMG_3915-1.jpg

We went to Portobello's for an early lunch. It was good, but not our favorite of the trip.

Of course, we had to stop at Goofy's Candy Co.!

IMG_3921-1.jpg

My yummy Mickey Rice Crispy Treat!

IMG_3922.jpg

After wandering around some more, we went to see La Nouba!! It was completely breathtaking. There was so much going on, it was impossible to see everything. DH and I kept poking each other saying, "Look over there! Did you see that?!" It was so much fun, and a completely beautiful show.

We went to Fulton's Crab House for dinner. It was AMAZING. I had the King Crab Claws and they were SOOOO good!

IMG_3930-1.jpg

IMG_3931-1.jpg

Dessert was very yummy, too. I had the milk chocolate Creme Brulee and DH had the Key Lime Pie. (It was definitely one of my favorite Creme Brulees..)

IMG_3933-1.jpg

IMG_3932-1.jpg

Ah, what a good day... Back to the GF for some much-needed rest!

Loving the tattoo!

I've just shown DF your photos of the lego shop, think he is more excited about visiting the store than Disney itself.....

:lmao: That's too funny, because my DH LOVED the Lego store! It was one of his favorite things! He actually asked to have his picture taken with the gigantic Lego, instead of me forcing him to get in a pic! Glad you liked the tattoo... You can't go wrong with sparkles and Mickey!

I'm loving your TR! The pictures are great, and I love the one with Stitch and you. I wonder how Lilo fell down? DH and I are planning on doing the Lilo and Stitch breakfast on our trip to disneyland.

I was thinking about your animal towels... maybe they are cats?

Cannot wait to hear more!
Peggy

I love the way the tattoo colour coordinates with your top. Good planning!!!!

I would say boys and their toys....................... but i can't really talk with my disney obsession :rotfl2:

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying it. No idea how Lilo fell down, we just heard the big "CLUNK" and she was on the ground! It was a really good breakfast, though, I definitely recommend it. :)

:rotfl: I'm the same way... My DH often looks at me and asks, "How old are you again?" any time I get overly excited about something Disney. I can't in all honesty accept the compliment about planning the outfit color.. I don't ever plan stuff like that out! But, I am glad that you thought I was that slick..:cool2:

Omg where to begin?!?! Hi!!!! I just found your TR!!! You are the cutest couple ever!!

We are almost wedding date twins! DH and I were married June 5th 2009! Just reading your story made me tear up. Your wedding photos are beautiful, and you can just feel the love between you and your DH and your family too.

HOW AMAZING that your DH surprised you with an upgrade to GF!! WOW!! How exciting!! The ears in the room was so cute too. So far your whole trip sounds so magical! I can't wait to read more!

We are going to be at WDW at the same time, celebrating our 1 year anniversaries!! So cool!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Day 6 (Thursday)

We woke up early again, and made it to Hollywood Studios for another rope drop.

IMG_3935-1.jpg

Of course, we headed straight to Toy Story Mania. I got in the standby line while DH went and got us FP's. DH and I LOVE this ride! It's really just too much fun. Even the queue is fun, because there's so much to look at!

This is so cool, because I totally had this ViewMaster disc!

IMG_3915.jpg

Some more queue pics..

IMG_3926.jpg

After Toy Story Mania, we tried to see the Indiana Jones show, but we just missed it, so we went to Pizza Planet to play some video games and have a small snack. Pizza Planet is fun, and the food wasn't bad, either. We walked around for a bit...

IMG_3928.jpg

IMG_3937.jpg

IMG_3945-1.jpg

After that we went over to Rockin' Roller Coaster.

IMG_3947-1.jpg

IMG_3949-1.jpg

And, we had another bit of pixie dust sprinkled on us... We waited in the standby line, and when we had finally gotten into the ride vehicle, a CM ran by us while we were waiting to move and said, "Congratulations!" and handed us two fastpasses! It was so cool! (We were wearing our Just Married buttons.) :) It made our day! We went over to grab fastpasses at Tower of Terror, and then headed back towards Sci-Fi Dine-In, since we had made an ADR for there.

IMG_3929.jpg

IMG_3930.jpg

We had a bit of time before we ate, so we went on Star Tours.

IMG_3951-1.jpg

IMG_3952-1.jpg

IMG_3953-1.jpg

After that, we ate at Sci-Fi Dine-In, and absolutely loved it! I had spinach and artichoke dip, and ribs, and an AWESOME milk shake! DH had the ribs too, but he had chili for his appetizer, and apple cobbler for dessert. I can't remember what I had for dessert, but I think I might have had ice cream...

IMG_3956.jpg

We used all of our fastpasses, (we loved Tower of Terror, too!) and then it was on our way back to the lovely Grand Floridian for a very much needed afternoon break.

Hi! Our schedule is looking great!! I've finally stopped tweaking (for the most part:rotfl:) and it's pretty much set! The only little thing, is I'm checking for a cancellation for Crystal Palace for before the park opens for Monday 6/7. Right now we have 9:10 am, but we'd love to get in around 8-8:15. It's our very first character meal together! Lots of times they'll have cancellations close to travel date, so I'm optimistic!

Where are you staying on your anniversary trip? We are staying at WL, club level, and are sooo excited! I've stayed there once before, and I can't wait for DH to stay there. We are doing the deluxe dining plan, and trying a Signature restaurant each night of the trip. We're doing Cali Grill for our arrival night/anniversary dinner, Narcoossee's, Artist Point, Yachtsman Steakhouse, and Jiko! We can't wait! Our other ADR's are Whispering Canyon, Les Chefs de France, Crystal Palace, The Plaza, Yak and Yeti, and 50's Prime time! We just can't wait. I actually got sick on the plane ride down to Orlando for our Disneymoon, and was sick practically the entire time :sad2: It was horrible! Poor DH, I don't know how he didn't just pack up and head back to NY because I was awful! I was so upset to be sick and just wasting my whole honeymoon :sad1: We NEVER thought we'd be able to afford to go back for a long time, but we got a 40% pin, and when I called the CM was able to extend it to dining as well! So we got a massive deal! :woohoo::banana:

Tell me alllll about your anniversary trip!!!!!!!

OMG your trip sounds like our Disnyemoon with all of that good food! I think all we did was eat on that trip... I'm sorry you were sick on yours, that sucks. :( But, at least you'll be making up for it this time! It sounds like you'll have an AWESOME trip! I haven't been to all of those restaurants, but Narcoossee's is one of our favorites! Also, Crystal Palace is a great character breakfast, that was our first character meal too! DH and I are definitely making this a budget vacation, but since we didn't think we would be able to go at all, I don't care, because we'll be at the World!!!! :dance3: We're staying at Pop Century, and we've never stayed there before, so I'm excited! We only have 3 ADR's, and they were pretty easy to get. We'll be getting there Friday evening, the 4th, and heading to EMH at Magic Kingdom :cloud9: Ah, I LOVE me some MK... *shakes self back to earth* Anyway, Saturday we're going Epcot, I believe, and we're planning on drinking/eating around World Showcase, because both times we tried that last time we got rained out! :sad2: Sunday is our actual anniversary, and we're doing DH's favorite park (HS) and my favorite park (MK again!) We have ressie's at 50's Prime Time during the day, and then we're going to Narcoossee's for our Anniversary dinner, and hitting EMH at MK again! I'm so excited, because Summer Nightastic starts that day, and we'll get to see the Main Street Electrical Parade!!! Monday we're tentatively doing DTD (just to have a relaxing day) and then we have a ressie at Kouzzina at the Boardwalk, since we didn't get to see the Boardwalk at all last time, and hitting HS again to see the Summer Nightastic version of ToT. Tuesday is our last day:sad1: but we're hitting Epcot in the morning again, and then saying goodbye to MK. We're also gonna celebrate our birthdays at the same time, since DH's is on June 22nd, and mine is on July 1st, so we'll have Anniversary buttons, and Birthday buttons! (I'm so darn excited for those buttons!!) *whew!* I think I'll be calling this our "Short but Sweet" trip!

OH YAY!!! Your trip sounds awesome!! We love budget trips. Our first trip to WDW was a budget trip, we stayed at ASMu and had the best time. Pop is AWESOME! I stayed there for one night before a POFQ trip and it was super fun. Make SURE you try the tie dye cheesecake in the food court. It's to DIE For!!!! SO GOOD! Instead of having regular graham cracker base it has red velvet cake! I die!

Ok so get this....We're eating at Narcoossee's at the same night!!! Sunday 6/6!!! We have a 7:10 pm ADR and then we're going to MK for the first night of Summer Nightastic!!!! Maybe we'll see each other!!!!!! SO crazy! I've never had the pleasure of meeting another Diser.

Anyway back to your trip. Kouzzina sounds soooo yummy. We love that whole Boardwalk area. Yay for drinking around the World!! We're planning on doing that as well! Can't wait! On the list are Grey Goose Slushie, Rosa Regale, Bellini, MARGARITA FLIGHT at La Cava del Tequila! YUMMM!!!

Edited to add: I just wanted to say that it's really smart you're staying at a Value. We have stayed at Deluxe, Mod, and Value now, and we have found NO greater value at the Mods over a Value. We find the Values have better transportation for sure. We also don't mind about the hot tubs or pool slides. We would only stay Deluxe or Value for a budget trip.

AAAHH! That's so cool! Our ressie is for 6:55! I've never gotten to meet another DISer either! I know I'm going over on the exclamation points, but I don't care, that's just too cool. (Oh, FYI, in case we do run into each other, I am now a brunette.) We've never been to the Boardwalk, so I'm very excited about that. Although I am the hugest Disney fan I know (outside of the DIS) I only got to go to the World once before our Disneymoon, when I was 19. (I'm turning 30 this year.:sad1:) DH only went once when he was about 13, so we discovered SO much last year. Plus, we knew a lot because of the DIS, but it was so great to see everything in person. Now we're going on this trip, and planning on taking another in January because DH is getting his Master's Degree in December! I think DVC is in our future... ;) But, the best part about all this is that DH was never a Disney fan! And now, he is falling in love with the World and I couldn't be happier! Of course, he justifies it by saying it really is a great value because of all the stuff there is to do there.. but I think he really did get bitten by the Disney bug! (at least a small one. That, or maybe he just got sprinkled with extra pixie dust while we were there last time) :goodvibes

I think it's fair to say that he has been bitten by the Disney bug! I can tell by his amazing grin in all of your pics!! SO funny that we'll be dining at the same place at virtually the same time! Crazy random! We normally take only one trip every other year (this year it may be two in one year though with the surprise trip I currently have booked!). SO COOL that you think DVC may work for you guys in the future!!!

Oooh, surprise trip? Do tell! :)

Oooh, surprise trip? Do tell! :)

Ahhhhhh!!! Ok I spill!!! Soooo basically last year was possibly the hardest year we've ever been through. 10 days after our honeymoon DH lost his job, and then things just went bad! My grandma got sicked and passed, I had to take a leave from work to help my fam....Major badness! In that time when my grandma was sick and dying was poor DH's 30th birthday. I wanted SO badly to be able to do something really nice for his 30th. He never gets a big fuss made for him, or anything. So I felt so bad I couldn't do anything. His birthday is Novemeber 18th. We went to Disney our first trip in November 2007, and did MVMCP. He LOVED it! He is a HUGE Christmas nerd! So basically I started thinking, hey his birthday falls on a Thursday, we could do a long weekend trip (3 nights) and do MVMCP! So I started playing around with ressies on disneyworld.com (ASMu, Pop, etc.). About 2 weeks later or less I got the 20/30/40 pin for my dates!!! NO WAY!! So I called and booked! I got the WL CL in a honeymoon suite for like $1800 with meal plan! Then I heard from close friends that they stayed in a HM suite in WL and it was not very nice. I've been reading tons on the GF so I decided to just call and see what rooms they had on my PIN. Well sure enough they had a King Deluxe room Royal Palm Club!!!!!!!!!!! It all came to $2400, which I think is totally great! It all comes down to how much money I can secretly save til then....I hope I get to do this for him! He will CRAP!

The plan would be to take a really early flight from NY to Orlando on Thursday November 18th. We would check in and hang out in the resort, etc. Then we will hopefully head over to MK for our first night of MVMCP! I'm trying to get CRT for 5 pm so we can eat in the castle. I think he will love that on a MVMCP night.

The next day would be another hang around the resort and chill day (maybe DTD). We would do a second night of MVMCP on this night.

The next day is up in the air!! That would be for DH to decide! We could do EPCOT, DHS, MK or AK...Up to him!!

Then sadly we would take a realllllly early flight the next day. Right now the flights are $79 each way but I'm too scared to book. We'll lose so much money on the canceled airfare if God forbid we have to cancel...AHHH!! Brain overload!!! :rotfl:

Ok, back to the TR! :)

We came back to the hotel, and found more towel animals! :-)lmao: the banana's funny, because I made banana pudding for dessert today! I kill myself...)

IMG_3940.jpg

After a lovely rest at the good ol' GF, we went back to Epcot.

IMG_3958-1.jpg

You can see the storm clouds looming...

Image47.jpg

We headed back towards World Showcase to drink around the world (again) and.... we got rained out. Again. :sad2:

So, we went back towards Spaceship Earth, and actually went on the ride. I really enjoyed it! Then, we went to the character spot, and took some pics. :)

Image52.jpg

DH says Pluto's shoving him out of the pic in this one...:confused3 (Actually, it kinda makes sense, because Pluto knows how much I love him. :lovestruc)

Image54.jpg

Love Donald too! (he's my 2nd favorite, but don't tell him that!)

Image57.jpg

By the time the rain stopped, it was just about closing time, so we went back to the GF to have some *ahem* other kinds of fun.. :thumbsup2 (Hey, it was our Honeymoon, after all.. ;) )
