Hey everyone,
My life story isn't that exciting, but here is it in a nutshell...
In my mind I am still in my 20's and hope to never get older than that!
I have a part-time math tutoring business that caters to students in middle school through college. I am also a part-time SAHM. I absolutely love both jobs!!!
I taught high school when I first graduated from college. During that time I earned my Master's degree and went on to work for a large publisher as an educational consultant, providing support services to schools throughout the southeast using computer-based instructional programs. Next I worked for a large manufacturing company as a training developer for IT systems, including SAP. When I had my DD, I decided to leave the workplace for awhile. We also moved when my DD was about 10 months old. Up until that time, I had been living in Charleston, SC, since I was 8 years old. We now live outside Charlotte, NC, and really enjoy it here, too. My DH is originally from NC so he is now "home" again.
DH is an IT guy. He is the director of data architecture for his company. In general, he's not into Disney as much as my DD and me, but he loves us
so he keeps letting me book the vacations - LOL. However, once we get onboard, he begins to relax and have a great time. I tell him it's the perfect vacation for him because he is not attached to work with his computer and phone and gets some true relaxation. He has been more excited about this trip than the last 2 Disney cruises we have been on, so maybe I am converting him?!
I find that the cruises are a perfect vacation for me because I do not have to clean, cook, shop, etc. I think Disney cruises are truly a mom's paradise!
DH and I enjoy
DCL because it is the one vacation we can go on and get some quality time as a couple. DD loves making friends onboard and going to the kids' clubs, so DH and I will typically go to Palo once or twice during a cruise. We have never been able to get to any of the adult shows because DD is an early to bed kind of kid, but we are hoping that we can do some of those this time.
Our DD does not know for sure we are going on this vacation. She knew we had been discussing it but we ended up telling her we were not going. When she thought we might go, she couldn't think of anything else. She LOVES her Disney cruises!!! As much as I love her enthusiasm, I need her to remain focused on other things right now - like school
- so we decided to wait until the time is closer to tell her. She will be so excited when she finds out we are going. We are probably going to tell her in about 2 weeks. I would wait until the day we leave, but I don't want her to miss out on the couple weeks of constant nagging that she'll get from me about staying out of people's faces, washing hands, wearing her coat, etc. so that she doesn't get sick!
(I hope I'm not the only one who does this.)
We are really looking forward to the trip and meeting everyone in the group!
