** Kat & Pauls Wishes Wedding 3.8.11 WG/AG/DP @ UK Lochside **

Oooo I'm loving reading about the wedding day - you had me in tears! I felt like a princess walking down to the ceremony too - in fact walking anywhere in Disney in my dress, I was soooo sad to take it off!

I have to post a picture of our rings, I gasped when I saw yours lol. So similar!

Congratulations on the baby! I'm due just about a month after you, January 14th. Wait until the morning sickness is gone...you'll want to eat EVERYTHING in sight, all day long. Or out of sight. Or anything you can imagine. Hoo boy. I agree about transitioning from wedding to baby, my planning just shifted to a new focal point lol.

Great minds think a like!! :goodvibes

About time I came back and wrote about the pre reception and reception I think!!

Before I start I just have to say that we got our wedding DVD this month and it is amazing!! It's just over 2 hours long and really takes me back to the day. I cried when I first watched it. So did my mum and sister :) We're doing the rounds so everyone that was there can see the DVD. Can we post videos on here??? :confused3 I'd love to post some of it to show you!! I'll have to have a look into it!

Back to the wedding...after the ceremony we had some group photos taken and also had our staged exit...

After all the photos Carol took all the guests to Ariels for the pre reception and DH and I stayed outside with one of the videographers and our photographer to get some pictures of just the 2 of us...

Oh Yay Kat sweetie,I thought you had abandoned us!!!
Seriously, though, I now know how difficult it is to keep up to date with your TR. I love writing mine, but each installment takes so long with having to upload photos and all and it can be hard to keep the momentum up when it sometimes seems that nobody is reading!!!
I am loving the new installment and the photos are so beautiful!!!
Hope you are keeping well and not feeling too nauseous!!!

Lovely pictures Kat, please keep them coming. I love reading all about everyones special day :goodvibes

I could never!! It has taken a long time though you're right, and I'm sooo tired all the time! When I get home from work I just want to go to bed!!

Lovely pictures Kat, please keep them coming. I love reading all about everyones special day :goodvibes

Thank you! Me too! :goodvibes

I LOVE that staged exit with petals photo! So cool!

Yes me too! Considering he wasn't a professional our photographer got some great pictures!

You got some amazing photos looking over the water!

Yes we did! There's loads more but I'm trying not to bore eveyone with them!

:)I really like the photo of everyone in the Mickey ears...classic!

Me too! It's one of my favourites! It cost us a fortune to get all the ears but it was so worth it!!

So first up, here's the latest picture of our little baby at 21 weeks and 1 day

ducky.jpg

It's got to be a girl with that nose right?! ;) I cannot wait to find out! :goodvibes We're 24 weeks 2 days now and it's flying by!

Back to the wedding!

DH and I headed to Ariels where our guests had spent the last hour, having a drink, resting and chatting. On our way they radioed ahead to get drinks ready for us...we asked for a coke and I'm so annoyed about that as I completely forgot we had champagne punch at the cockatil hour so I could of had some of that!! Doh!!

When we got to Ariels we just hung around by the main entrance (on the other side of the big fish tank?) kind of funny seeing as everyone could see through the tank! :rotfl: Most people were still on the other side of the room at the cockatil hour finishing off drinks though so it didn't really matter. My sister came and did the bustle up on my dress and took my veil off and removed my garter as it was so uncomfortable and our DJ, Steve, came and introduced himself, he was so amazing. I was so worried about having a DJ as we were such a small group but I really didn't need to worry. He had people up dancing the whole time! I remember having a good laugh with him. His name was Steve and so is my dads and my nephews so we had a giggle about that too. Then he headed back to the dance floor to introduce us.

GandKatWeddingD702.jpg

We went straight into our first dance which was weird as we wouldn't do that back here in the UK but it worked really well for us!

GandKatWeddingD711.jpg

GandKatWeddingD717.jpg

I loved our first dance. It took such a long time to agree on a song but in the end we picked 'Book of Love' by Peter Gabriel. We picked it as it was the final song in the last episode of Scrubs and DH is a big fan (this is also how we have ended up agreeing that if we have a little boy his name will be JD! :rotfl:) It didn't have any special meaning to us before then but now every time I hear it, it makes me smile as it reminds me of what an amazing day we had.

After our first dance it was straight into dinner! This was the first time I'd really been able to see the table and I have to say Warren did an amazing job!! It was so perfect!

Unfortunately neither DH or I were hungry. We were taken up to the buffet first and our helpers/servers were very nice but didn't really listen and piled our plates high! Neither of us really ate very much of it! Luckily all our guests had plenty, most going back for seconds!

The speeches followed. They were all very good. Considering both DH and the BM were still writing theirs the morning of the wedding! :rotfl: My dad was very organised and had it planned out long before the wedding and it showed! He did such a good job but unfortunately the videographers missed the beginning of his speech! :scared1: It's not their fault though and they couldn't stop apologising! The speeches started a little early so they were still out back having something to eat. I don't mnd that they missed part of it as I have my dads copy so I'll never forget what he said!

The father daughter dance went very well. Dad and I learnt a dance for this as I'd always wanted to dance properly to 'the way you look tonight'

Isn't it funny how there are so many little differences between what the US do, and what the UK do and what the Aussies do?

We did speeches first before anything, and by the sound of it that really threw my planner off.

Yeah I'm not surprised! We did ours after dinner but that seemed to confuse everyone! Even the way we walk down the aisle is different here! We did it the American way but my poor dad kept saying this isn't right! :rotfl:

The first dance before dinner is a new trend in the US. It's only the last couple years I've seen it and not at every wedding. I don't like it because IMO once the dance floor is open, it should be open. Then again, I am not a fan of sitting around at a wedding after I'm done eating waiting for the next stage of the event.

Kat sweetie - Loving all the new pictures you posted but especially the one of your little mousketeer!!!! Gosh, time is really flying and in no time at all, your little one will be here!!!!

Super excited because Carly spotlighted our wedding on the Disney Wedding Blog Friday!! :goodvibes

I promise I WILL finish this TR...just not today!! :rotfl: I'm pooped (this pregnancy is really taking it out of me!) I was SUPPOSED to be leaving work on Thursday (I'm on a fixed term contract that was coming to an end) and 4 days before I'm due to leave they extend it!!! Not impressed! I'm ready to leave so I can sleep before my little bundle of joy arrives but no such luck now! I'll be working until mid November. Ho hum :confused3

I'll try and get some more of this done at the weekend (but no promises as we're in the middle of doing the nursery and I'm so slow things that should only take a day take me 7! :rotfl:) The joys of pregnancy eh?!

Only 10 weeks to go!!! :scared1:

Ok so I'm pretty crappy at doing this but I'm back now and determined to get this TR done!! :thumbsup2

Firstly, as has become a bit of a tradition, here's out latest baby scan...

only 8 weeks to go! :scared1: I can't believe it's gone so quick! The nursery is all pretty much done too...

the new blinds arrive tomorrow and then it's just little finishng touches! It's all so exciting! :goodvibes

Also, my contract at work got extended. I was supposed to leave 29th September but have been extended until 31st May! :yay: This means I'm entitled to full maternity pay which is great! :woohoo: There's a chance it could be extended again and if it is I'll have to return to work full time for 1 month but that's not so bad!

Anyway, enough of the baby talk! Back to the wedding!! :)

After the father daughter dance we had a few slow songs played so everyone else could come up and join us

GandKatWeddingD773.jpg

I love this picture. This is my uncle and soon to be aunt...for the 8 years Paul and I have been together my uncle and Paul have always joked about how much they love eachother and that they are a secret couple and my uncle couldn't wait to get Paul on the dance floor with him! At my sisters wedding in 2008 they held hands in every photo! They are quite amusing when together.

GandKatWeddingD771.jpg

GandKatWeddingD763.jpg

Our DJ then decided to teach us some dance moves to some very famous songs :dance3:. It was a surprise and super fun! We had a little boogie to beat it, jailhouse rock, staying alive, vogue and several others. I'm actually watching our wedding video (again) as I type this and can't help but laugh at it...it was so much fun!

This really helped loosen everyone up and get them into the swing of things! I've got some great video of the little girls too...I wish I could show you all!! I tried to upload it to FB but they took it off and said if I do it again my account will be deactivated! Ooops!! It's got Disney copyright so I don't know if I can upload it anywhere else?! There was no stopping anyone after this...there was always someone on the dance floor. All my worries about if people would actually get up and dance or not disappeared!

After this we played a game called 'lasting impressions.' Which again was a big surprise. Steve asked Paul to pick 2 guys and 1 girl (so he picked the BM Sean and our 2 friends, Jay and Jo.) They each had to pick a number between 1 and a million and then act out that song. Jay was excellent, he's a great dancer and danced to 'cant touch this'. Jo was a good sport and danced to an Elvis song and poor Sean got the short straw and had to dance to Barbie Girl. Sean is not the best dancer, but it's incredibly funny watching him busting a move on the dance floor! To finish up they had a mash up of different songs to dance to before we got to vote for the winner (needless to say Sean won just for being so funny) They were all such good sports and really got into it!

Here's some pics of Sean dancing...I hope they make you giggle as much as I do when I look at them!

Hey you're still here too! Don't worry I haven't finished mine either :rolleyes1

Wow, it really looks like a baby this time! I don't need anyone to point it out to me  The nursery looks great, looks like you've put a lot of work into it!

Try Youtube for your videos, FB is weird some times with what it will and won't allow :confused3

Glad it's not just me then! Now the wedding isn't the number 1 prioirty in my life I just keep forgetting to come back!

Yep it looks like a baby now!! Feels like a baby too at 4lb 13oz! Cannot wait for baby to arrive now! :goodvibes

I have to say I did next to nothing in the nursery! DH has done it all! I purchased everything but he's had to put it all together! Doesn't stop me taking the credit for it though! :rotfl:

Oooo that's a good idea! I'll head over to youtube now and see if I can upload there! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Ok...today is the day! Today I AM going to finish this TR! :thumbsup2

I'm 37 weeks pregnant and feel like a ticking time bomb so have decided to get this finished before baby arrives and takes over my life!

Sooo...after the dance off we just partied the evening away :dance3: It was great fun and the dance floor was never empty. Admittedly there were a few times where I was the only person on the dance floor but I was having a fab time so who cares! We had an open bar (thanks to my dad :thumbsup2) but I didn't actually have anything to drink! I had a glass of champagne for the toasts and then a glass of water and that was it! I was far to busy having a great time to stop for a drink!

At 6pm Steve announced that 'we had news from the magic kingdom' and in came Mickey and Minnie! :yay: Unfortunately some people had popped out to have a cigarette/get pjs for the little ones, so not everyone was there to see their arrival. I am so glad that I managed to keep it a secret though! I'm not great at keeping secrets at the best of times and this was a tough one to keep but I did it! (yay me!) The kids faces were a picture! They were so excited! I love the fact that they whole heartedly believe that Minnie and Mickey are real and that they were there. To be honest though, I think everyone felt like that! :goodvibes

GandKatWeddingE840.jpg

At this point DH still had no idea that I had also gotten Donald Duck for him as a surprise (best surprise EVER!!) We had 15 minutes of dancing with Mickey and Minnie and then Mickey had a little 'chat' with the DJ. Steve said if Mickey really wanted to do that then they would need a song so he played duck tales. No one thought anything of it though and just carried on dancing away. When I realised what was happening I turned to DH and told him he could have his wedding present now. He looked a little confused but when he saw Donald his face absolutely lit up and he got a bit teary (I'm not sure if I mentioned before but Donald was also his Dads favourite character and he passed away the year before so it kind of had a double meaning for DH) Donald came straight over to him and shook his hand and gave me hug and then joined in on the dancing. Having all 3 characters was so worth every penny we spent (and the difficulty I had keeping it a secret too!)

GandKatWeddingE830.jpg

More dancing and then time for the cake cutting. This was my least favourite moment of the day! We had no idea what we were doing and no one helped! The characters tried desperately to mime what we needed to do and we eventually got there and ended up with the BIGGEST slice of wedding cake!! DH practically just cut the side off the bottom tier! :rotfl: The DJ then started saying about feeding cake to eachother which was something we really didn't want to do but didn't feel like we could get out of it so DH cut the slice of cake into smaller pieces and we got that over and done with! No cake in the face...I would of been so mad if DH had done that!

GandKatWeddingE880.jpg

We had some group photos taken before Minnie and Mickey had to leave and then hit the dance floor again with Donald for the cha cha slide and carwash! Everyone came down to join in which was great. My neice still talks about dancing with Donald and will not dance to the cha cha slide now if Donald isn't there too!!
