Yes, someone from the EBTA put together a Dis Navigator of sorts w/ all of the activities & everyone's screen names, real names and room #'s included. It was very nice, but since I'm not volunteering to put it together myself, I should probably drop the subject! :rolleyes1

I'm more than happy to make something up if people let me know what info they want and where to get it. I hate to play the "I'm too new" card but I am sort of oblivious to what people would want. Also if someone has an example of what they are looking for or what has been done by others I wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel. Anyone willing or able to help?

Thanks! :)

Hey everybody! :wave2: I have kind of been a silent participant lately, as we have been so busy. Today I thought I better say hey and let people know we're still around.

Again, so sorry for your loss Karen and Gary, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers!

Noel, congrats on your daughter, how did it go on Monday?

Is it really really bad that I STILL haven't sarted my FE gifts or door decorations yet

Last year I was still finishing them on the first sea day in my stateroom :rotfl:

And I promised myself this year would be different....

My problem is I work so much better under pressure.... And 4 weeks still seems like ages away :rotfl:

I haven't finished ours yet either. I have just purchased a part of it and need to get it together.

I have also just started on our door magnets. I only have 2 magnetic sheets and then I'm going to do like many of you and just print them and use magnet tape on the back. Thanks for everybody's great ideas!!! :worship:

We are celebrating our 18th Anniversary on the cruise. Well actually our anniversary is September 4th, but we are waiting to celebrate it at Palos.

We are getting so super excited and can hardly believe there are only about 3 weeks left. :yay::yay::yay:

Wow! I'm so sorry to have been off the boards for so long. Steve (my DH), developed an infection 3 weeks after surgery and I thought for sure that I was going to have to cancel the cruise. Today, I'm 99% positive that we are going to be able to go! Phew!!!

We went to the doc and the second round of antibiotics worked. I won't go into all the gory details but suffice it to say that it was disgusting, very painful and even the doc was skeptical that 2 rounds of antibiotics would do it. But DH is a trooper (ok, a whiny trooper....but still ;)) and he is actually well enough to return to work this week! His tummy looks so much better.

I've yet to go back and read through all I missed out on, but it seems that Jackie had to cancel (we will miss you), Gary and Karen, my deepest condolences and Noel, congratulations to your daughter for getting into law school!

Now, back to reading what I missed out on....

Keri (aka, another Karen)

Glad your DH's ok Keri.

Warren ... 4 weeks is NOT ages !! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

and actually it is just over 3 weeks :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I have started my FE gifts but am waiting for lots of materials to arrive. I might be joining you in the cabin on the first sea day at this rate.

So much to do and so little time :scared1::scared1:

I just realised that DD took one of my cruise bags to Florida, so now we need to purchase another suitcase / bag. Good job I remembered now and not the day before :scared1:

Sorry to hear about your poor DH and his post surgery complications ... hope all is sorted and you can relax and get ready for a relaxing cruise.:hug:

Not sure if everyone has herd but September 19th is "Talk Like a Pirate Day." ARRRRR you ready for it?

Nothing like plundering booty!

Pity this doesn't fall on Pirate night pirate:pirate:pirate:

Today I will be submitting the final list for the drinks tastings. I am still waiting for one person to get back to me - hopefully they will be allowed to be added later on.

Thanks for all the information - fingers crossed it won't be too long before we hear something back.

Sorry to hear that Steve has been going through a bad time health wise. Glad he is almost better, and even more glad that you should make the cruise. :thumbsup2 Love the 'whiny trooper' bit!;)

I just need to have a little Virgin rant so please bear with me!

I was very excited last week when they told me our docs would be sent out later that day.

Called them this morning to see why they hadn't turned up and they hadn't even bothered to send them!!!

The lady assured us they Will be posted today so I will wait with baited breath!

Ok rant over , normal service is resumed.

Virgin customer service does leave a lot to be desired. When we were on our Virgin flight recently we were selected to fill out a survey about the flight. We spent time doing this and gave our honest opinions, tinking they might actually be interested. The other day a Virgin representative phoned up in relation to our survey .... however, he didn't really seem interested in the points we had made .... what he was actually interested in was SELLING US A VIRGIN CREDIT CARD :mad:

We had the last laugh though because we let him go through all his spiel about the product and then we told him we already had one :rotfl2::rotfl2:

You would waste less time if you did your research Mr Virgin :rotfl2::rotfl2:

That's interesting re: Virgin. I think they have a perceived reputation of having better service across the pond than any US airline. I thought the planes were supposed to be nicer with better amenities. Maybe it's all marketing?

I think the problem is with Virgin Holidays which is really just a travel agency and though part of the overall Virgin company is separate to the airline.

Would be a wonderful idea....I'm trying to keep track by writing it all down but so afraid I will forget something. Since I'm not volunteering either....guess I better keep my mouth shut too.....:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:

I believe Noel (birkner) and her DH John are doing this for everyone if I recall.

Noel - Could you let us know if you're putting together an info sheet?

If not, Heather has kindly volunteered to do so. If someone creates the document before the cruise, we could all print them out on our own so nobody has to haul 200 copies to the ship.

Hey Chris, the Pub Crawl t-shirts came out awesome. Can't wait to wear them. Do you think they will let us in to Palo for brunch with them on? Probably not, we will have to change after brunch before the Pub Crawl starts.

Well if they don't get me my docs here pronto I'll be turning up on mr bransons doorstep so he can sort it!!!!

(btw I am kidding...... I dont have stalker tendencies :rotfl2::rotfl2:)

There were good points and not so good .... fabulous entertainment system with touch screen and on demand movies and games! But the food left a lot to be desired. It made me laugh because they kept showing the Virgin Atlantic advert on the TV screen with all the air hostesses looking like supermodels and going that extra mile to make you comfortable etc and the ones we got were all miserable and grumpy and only actually offered drinks once on a 7 hour flight and nearly bit your head off if you asked them anything. :rotfl2:

I'm pretty sure t-shirts aren't allowed. I have a feeling that this cruise is going to make quick (clothes) change artists out of all of us.
