Ear pain is miserable! I hate the stuff, but try Afrin. It's like roto rooter for your sinuses. Also, if it's more allergy related sinus congestion, and if you are still bad a day or so before your trip call your doctor back and ask for a steroid. You probably won't notice the jittery side effects much since you'll be running around WDW (heck, the extra energy might be nice there), and it'd definitely drain everything.

:scared1:

:lmao: :lmao:

Totally agree with all of this! I have had sciatica flare up since college (I used to show horses, sometimes you fall off horses, and it royally jacked up my back) and it can be totally miserable.

In addition to the muscle relaxers I have found acupuncture works absolute WONDERS for my back pain. Before I started having acupuncture done it'd take over a month for the pain to totally go away, but 3 trips to the chiropractor for acupuncture over one week and that usually completely clears up any flare ups, usually without bothering with prescription meds at all. I know some people are squiffy about needles, but if you're really worried about not being in good shape for your trip, it definitely can't hurt to try!

I've heard others have had GREAT success with acupuncture, too. Definitely something else to consider. Works wonders for my 60 year old mom!

Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. Not because I'm needle squeamish (I'm not)...but because my issue stems from a small bone spur (the remnants of a childhood injury) on my tail bone. When my back goes into spasm (usually from a disc issue at L4-L5), it "realigns" my sciatic nerve to rub right over that bone spur. To the point, when it's REALLY bad, it starts to cause numbness on the outside (not arch) of my foot and the back of my knee. Basically, it's two issues that make one major pain in my rear end (literally) and down my leg.

Only thing that solves the problem is getting those back muscles out of spasm, reducing the inflamation, and stretching the living heck out of those muscles til everything goes back where it belongs. There are other things that can help reduce the pain, short term, in my actual BACK (chiro helps there)...but not, it seems, the sciatica. My PT, earlier this year, couldn't believe how bad it was. Think: hunchbacked and listing to the right...NOT the S shape from a herniated disc...without an ability to take a full stride with my left leg). I looked like Igor (except 6 ft 3).

Treatment, for me, is a predictable pattern:
Drugs to relax the muscles/reduce pain/reduce inflamation til back pain subsides.
Heat (physical or "rub"/patch) to keep it loose, continue pain/inflamation meds.
Exercise/stretch/PT til sciatica finally goes away.

Backs and knees are the WORST....

I LOVE Afrin. It's my "night time relief" during a bad cold. At least then I can breath while I'm sleeping.

Also..if it's allergy related...did I miss someone suggesting (or the OP already talking about) grabbing some 12 hour OTC Clariten (or generic version)? That stuff works wonders on me the couple of days a year I need it (when the pollen count is off the charts).

Dang! I wish I looked that good without make-up!

Me too! It's a great picture!

As expected, I didn't sleep much last night! My mind just wouldn't shut down! This is our first trip since our Disneymoon that it's just me and DH! Our honeymoon was my first trip ever to Disney. We are leaving our 19 and 22 year old college sons home! That brings it's own level of stress!! Luckily my MIL and FIL are just down the hill from us! Today I will finish packing and then go through last minute instructions for the boys. I've never seen Disney at Christmas and this is such a dream come true trip!! I have enjoyed "meeting" all of you and hope to see some of you while we are there! Safe travels to everyone!!

Have a fabulous time!

It is just after 7am here, in 24hrs we'll be in the air on our way to 'the World!' I'm doing the last of the errands this morning and actually feel pretty calm. We'll see if any of us can sleep tonight before our 4am wake-up for our flight!

Yup, I'm Jordan! And obviously you all know the name of my traveling companion, Abby. :thumbsup2

Do I dare ask who you would cast as me?

:

It really depends on the budget, we are willing to make a sacrifice to get an a list actress for Abby...

I'm sorry ... it won't resize :sad::sad:

Pretty!

I love seeing pics of everyone!

Here's mine. I also just took it with the camera phone and I have no make up on. I tried to go through my pics but the only things I could find were the professional shots that were done. I tend to hate pics of myself.

Tltorrez - I'm sorry you had to resort to plan B, I'm hoping you get a BB offer for next year.

I can't believe our trips are already here!

The changes in the Accuweather forecast from last night to this morning is huge. Silly weather, doesn't it know that my packing is dependent on it! :rotfl:

I know there were other things I wanted to comment on, but I lost track. I hope everyone has a good day!

My almost 21year old son will have finals until the 14th and we get home on the 17th. I'd actually feel better if he were home. My dd is almost 22 and she's in an apartment. She'll take our dog to her place. Gee....now I'm worried about my house!

What type of homeopathic meds?

So less than 2 days and I will be in WDW- by this time on Friday we should be on our way to DTD to get TiW, PAP, Photopass Plus.... Then off to the Jambo House!!!

Oh and I'd like to add- I've lost my voice... Yay sinus troubles :( I have a Neti pot.... Hoping it will help. On the bright side kids are still healthy!!

Hilarious!! I am thinking Reese Witherspoon, but she is a bit too old. Who is a young Reese?? Is Dakota Fanning old enough? Does Abby have blonde hair? In my head, she has blonde hair. There is a pic on Jordan's PTR, but I cant really see her hair. Just her beautiful smile. :)

I take the 24 hour Allegra every day of my life....I'm thinking I should have gotten the one's with the Pseudoephedrine in it!
