Taking my parents from December 23-30. Will be their first time to HHI

Hello everyone, we will be leaving on Tues for Hilton head! Only stayed 1 time for a short overnight visit. This time we will be there for 4days. My question is what are your favorite restaurants? I remember not many dining options at the resort it self. Any suggestions would be great!

We were just there. Ate at Robert Irvine's restaurant Eat! And loved it. We had a great time there. Look forward to returning.

No, but a 5th guest can be accomodated.

Does this mean they can bring a sleeping bag and sleep on the floor? Or that they have roll away beds? Or how are they accommodated?

You need to provide everything: bedding (eg inflatable mattress), linen, towels, although you can get extra towels for a fee.

One more thing is that you need to stay on points to be 5 in a 1BR, for a cash ressie they are more strict I think.

We stayed at Hilton Head one year ago and it is the perfect restfull, relaxing, old school getaway. Its not very disney as in characters but service, style, cast members and kids offerings are all Disney. My kids loved all the different events...there were so many things to choose from. The scenery is gorgeous and you'll definitely feel that you've been on vacation when you get back.

does anyone know what activities (if any) will be going on the week of thanksgiving?

They always have making Thanksgiving centerpieces, making tshirts, and if you're there Thanksgiving (although it doesn't look it from your dates), there's flag football at the beach house and a "Golden Turkey" hunt around the resort. And on the Sunday you check in, since that's always such a busy check-in day, B'leu Crabbe and Shadow are just outside the check in desk to greet you.

I hope those of you who traveled to HHI in 2012 are still checking this thread. We are headed to HHI June 2013. My DH teaches online courses and will need WiFi capability during our stay. I keep reading online reviews that say the WiFi is horrible at HHI. Can anyone comment on this recently? Also I wonder if there are certian 2BRs that can be requested that have better signals?

We had no problem with the WiFi, but we were in a studio right behind the front desk.

We had sporadic trouble with it two years ago- and they were very helpful and came to fix it right away. Last summer, no problem at all. Have fun!

I am hoping that could possibly mean that they did some kind of upgrade in 2012 to WiFi at HHI.

You could check with the resort if the wired internet is still working and if so, bring a wifi router? Note that wired internet was not working anymore at OKW a few weeks ago.

That is a great suggestion. I will call them closer to our trip.

Just got back today from our 3-nt trip to HHI and I didn't have any trouble with the speed of the internet, I just had trouble connecting the laptop a few times, but a reboot got that fixed each time. I suspect it was in my laptop and not in the wifi because my tablet had few issues. The most annoying thing to me is having to put a password in every time you shut down or disconnect.
