June 15 - June 22 2013 Eastern Fantasy

Just a couple FE questions:confused:

- Is there a cut-off for our group?

- Are we going to verify the participants closer to the cruise date?

Wow, 99 partipants! I better get working. :stir:

Tigger/Pooh4 had said there would be a cutoff date, I just can't remember when. Are we at 99 total? Yikes! I was counting up for the kids' presents and came up with about 30 kids 12 and under and about 15 teens 13 - 18.

Also, I have seen some pics from a 5K on CC,but couldn't find anything. Is this all the time? I have good intentions now, but the cruise food might kill me! LOL

Yes, the CC 5k is held on e every cruise that makes a stop there. I'm planning to run it, and I think Staley8 is planning to as well. Join us; we can be a good support group. Besides, it'll be a great way to burn off the extra calories!

Thank you for the excellent advice! It sounds like whatever we do, we can't go wrong. The Lind Point Trail sounds just perfect for us. Thanks!

You're welcome! I hope to talk my family into doing this as well but I have a feeling they don't want to hike any so we'll probably end up either taking a taxi to Cinnamon Bay or doing an excursion.

I thought of some things if you decide to take the trail to the beach - if you would like to swim wear swimgear under shorts and a shirt.

Tevas worked fine for me but I would not do the trail in flip-flops.

Bring bugspray and sunblock - I don't remember being chewed on by mosquitos on that trail but it's possible especially if it has rained well a couple of weeks previously.

I would travel light and carry everything in in a backpack - I'd have some water for every person in my group. I didn't take any with me and I was fine, but I was wanting a cool drink by the time I returned.

You can buy some at Wharfside village, which is a bunch of shops to your right as you get off the ferry, or at Mongoose Junction, which is across the street from the National Park Visitor's Center. Both areas have some good places to eat lunch - my favorite is the Beach Bar at Wharfside but there's all sorts of places to choose from.

I also just recalled that if you do hike all the way to Honeymoon Beach there's a new (and only) business there that does all sorts of gear / kayak rentals, lockers, bathrooms, snacks, etc:

I could prattle for hours about St. John! I went there as a kid (waaay back in the early 70's) and while the non-national park spots have built up some, the park itself has changed very little.

If anyone has other questions about St. John I would be happy to answer! :beach:

Yes the cutoff is at 75 days (PIF date) from the cruise. At that point I will send out a email/PM to all participants to verify they are still in. They will have a week to respond and then I will finalize the list. Currently we have 29 staterooms and 99 participants. 101 days to the Fantasy. :cool1:

This is what I have so far:

Girls 7-under: 5
Boys 7 and under: 5
Boys 8-15: 14
Girls 8:15: 17
Teens 16-21: 5

Adults: 49

Not sure if there are any left, or what the logistics might be, but would it be possible for our family of three to share one with another family of three? $500 is a bit steep, but half that is a bargain. I haven't seen anything that says all six people have to be from the same stateroom.

If this is possible, is anyone interested?

The CC Cabanas were gone within ten days of the conceirge/platinum dates. To obtain one now you will have to check the website like a hawk for a cancellation. Sorry and I hope you will be able to score one.

Yes! We'll have a blast burning some calories together! :)

Good morning fellow cruisers.
We now have only
tharg-1-50-trans.gif
tharg-0-50-trans.gif
tharg-0-50-trans.gif

days to go to the Fantasy. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Unfortunately, my family is going to have to back out of this cruise. We will still be going on the Fantasy - just on a different date (husband's work schedule). I'm bummed I'll have to wait 6 weeks longer , but at least we still get to go! :cool1:

Please remove us from the FE list.

Now I have to track down our new cruise thread! :surfweb:

Enjoy your June cruise! I'll be thinking about you!

Sorry you will not be able to join us. Good luck and have a magical time on your new cruise date.

Any chance the fish extender group will be split in two? My work schedule has always prevented me from participating. I don't want to bite off more than I can chew with such a large group especially since I figure more will be signing up. I already started making some things so some of you may wind up with a surprise gift even if I don't get to participate.

I'm so confused. I read in another thread about the clubs for kids filling up for certain ages. Do I register her before the cruise or at boarding? She wants to feel the freedom away from us so bad, and I would hate to disappoint her because I didn't get it in time.

Thanks!

Hi all, it has been a while since I last posted that my family and I are going on this cruise...since we are getting closer to our sail date I thought I would post again. My family and I would love to participate in the FE for this cruise! :) A couple of questions: Is 75 days for the cut-off date on April 2? Is it possible that we split the FE group into two groups? And maybe if more DISers want to participate by the cut-off date, could we limit the number of cabins in each FE group to 25? This might help everyone in the FE group to not be overwhelmed :) We are finally starting to get excited for this cruise and can't wait to go on the Fantasy! :cool1:

-Mary Jane :)

Currently we are at 28 staterooms and 96 guests. We wll have to see at the cutoff date Apr 1 as to where we stand. If the number gets to much past 30 we can take a vote to see if we want to split the group up.

The kids clubs filling up has to do with letting guests booking the cruise itself. DCL makes sure that kids has space in the clubs for ALL kids booked on the cruise. No fears. You child under no circumstance be turned away due to space restrictions in the clubs. You do resgister your kids as part of the online checkin and also either in the terminal at PC or once onboard. A small hint, it is a whole lot easier and no lines to just skip the registering at the terminal and do it onboard.
