Oh and I have no clue how to post pictures, so sorry can't add to that, but I love all your pics. I can't wait to go.
You can also use your DIS account to upload photos. On the dark blue menu bar above, hover over Photos, and then click on Community Gallery. Login using your regular DIS account info, and then you can upload photos to your account, which you can link to from your posts on the boards.

I had no clue you could do that! Thanks for the info!

I have only 2 pics from my trips as a kid. I will have to track them down. I know one was of a show with Dumbo and the other was of me. OK once the kids are in bed I am on a mission.

Ok, time for some fun to get us excited about our upcoming trips! This is sort of a QOTD, but instead it will be a picture of the day. Today let's start off with Spaceship Earth since so many of us are sadly finding out it will be down during our trips. So, post your favorite SE pics (and feel free to suggest a different location tomorrow!)

This is one of my favorites from a 2009 trip:

What a beautiful pic of your boys!!! (and an awesome idea for the QOTD!)

We don't have many photos in front of SE that turned out well. Almost all of them are way overexposed and we have glowing white faces :sad1: . This is the best of the bunch, and its nothing to write home about. Also circa 2009....I can hardly believe how much we've changed in 4 years. I hardly recognize Jake without his beard!

Oh my oh my how plans and expectations can change...

As I had mentioned, my upcoming trip was to be my sister, my kids and I. Especially looking forward to it since losing our mom last month. Well...my sister has since gotten custody of her 15 month old grandson and will not be able to make the trip this year :sad2: My heart broke when she told me since I know she had been looking forward to going to Disney for the very first time.

Now, for a quick bit of info on me, relevant to the rest of the story ;), not to long ago I had reconnected with my 'first love' from when I was 18. We had been together for 3 years when went our separate ways and had our own lives. He contacted me and we started talking and realized we still had feelings for each other (aww ) and have since gotten back together. Well, my sister suggested taking him in her place; oops, I hadn't even thought of that :rotfl:.

I had felt bad originally because I was planning on leaving on August 23rd to drive down to FL. The 23rd is his b-day so it was like, "happy birthday we're leaving for 2 weeks, have fun home alone." Of course he had understood that this was planned before he was in the picture so he wasn't worried about it. Well, now I get to tell him that he can go! Talk about mixed emotions, heart broken that my sister cant go, but happy that he can go...what a roller coaster lately LOL

So later on I get to break the news to him, call Disney and change guests, rearrange ADR's and celebrations and basically start planning all over again :lmao:

How wonderful that a story with such a disappointing start had such a lovely ending! Wishing you a FABULOUS trip with your beloved! :goodvibes And happy "re-planning'! :rotfl: At least you have something to do while we're all wondering how to pass the next 70 days!!! lol

This was from my 1982 trip when I was 10 and Disney was still celebrating it's 10th. M left my glasses at home and my mom got this pic for me 'cause I couldn't see the stage. I couldn't find the pic with me and a Disney 10th anniversary light pole banner maybe my mom has it. Sorry the pic's so big, but I wanted you to see Dumbo!

Well, I have something new to countdown for and obsess over! :dance3: I am planning on running the Tinkerbell 1/2 in January. I am so up in the air over so many aspects of this trip, but the big one right now is that I'm stressing over getting in!! The registration for the Princess 1/2 opened yesterday, and with it they introduced a new C2C challenge. I am planning on doing the C2C with W&D in November 2014, but this one is a special pink princessy type one, so a ton of people jumped on it. They also introduced the Glass Slipper Challenge which is a 10k one day and the 1/2 the next. Well, the GSC is already sold out and the Princess is at 50%, AND if you opted for the special C2C, you could do a special early registration for Tink yesterday. Tink doesn't officially open up until July 9, but a lot of people already have their spots by going this route. So now I'm panicking it's going to sell out super fast! I'll be sitting by the computer on July 9, obsessing....27 days to go! I am also debating adding on the Neverland 5k, which sells out instantly, so I really need to make that decision too.

Then I need to figure out the rest of this trip. I've never been to DL before, so it's all very new. The biggest decision I need to make is whether to do this trip with or without the boys. With requires them missing two days of school, it will be very $$$$, and obviously we (DW is running too) won't be able to totally focus on ourselves for race prep. Also, if they do come, I will allow DS12 to run Neverland, so I'll need to be set with that decision by July 8th. If I don't bring them the guilt might kill me :rotfl2: What to do, what to do?!?!

Yay! This is so exciting!! I've never been to DL either, but will have to do it someday :goodvibes

I actually just registered yesterday to do the 10K at the Princess half weekend in February. As I just began running about 2 months ago, I'm not quite ready to commit to the half-marathon, so I thought a 10K was a good compromise (and I still get to go to Disney :dance3:) Need to add a new countdown for me too!

This is the only SE picture I could find :confused3 Sorry for the grainy quality. It's from 2012. The only picture I could find with my boys in it was from 2005 when my youngest was not yet a year old :rolleyes1 I need to plan to get their picture there this year....:thumbsup2

:dancer::dancer: All paid off :dancer::dancer:, I did not do the dining plan since we are going to a few non Disney parks during our stay, they should really give you a option of how many days you would like the dining plan like they do with park tickets :confused3

I would go for that! We usually get the first flight there and the last flight home. I might actually pay more to add 1 more day to the plan.

Jump right in! we're a friendly bunch but things move fast. We want to hear anything you have to say so don't be shy!:)

Totally jealous of your cruise too!!! Last time we stayed at AKL I was sitting in the lobby one day watching everyone line up to go out to the Cruise shuttle and I had this overwhelming urge to jump in line with them:rotfl:
Since Disney likely doesn't allow stowaways I decided against it, but I sure hope to make one work sometime in the future.

The 25th is our last planned day at Epcot, hope it'll open that day. Thoughts on that??

If not I'm going to have to do some rearranging. We dont' go home until the 28th, so I am sure I can figure something out :):rolleyes1:rotfl::rotfl2:

http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions...ing-for-week-long-refurbishment-in-august.htm

Spaceship Earth closing for refurb for a week in August. We LOVE Spaceship Earth. Luckily for us it will reopen 2 days after we get there but I thought I would put it in here in case it affects any of your trips. I think we're probably the only people who would be hugely disappointed if it was closed though:rolleyes1

Just to reassure you, you are NOT the only people who would be hugely disappointed. I saw this yesterday and panicked until I could check the dates because it is my eldest daughter's favorite ride at EPCOT (yep, even more than Test Track, Soarin'...!). Luckily we will be there for a few days before it closes, so she will get to ride it. She would have been MAJOR bummed if it were closed the whole time.

A bit off-topic, but does it seem unusual that so many rides are being closed in August? I know we have a long-ish trip at 12 nights, but during our stay these are all scheduled to be closed for at least part of the time: Spaceship Earth, Carousel, Jungle Cruise, Muppet Vision 3-D -- all pretty major attractions and it's still a fairly busy season, no? It surprises me a bit.

The dates of our trip mean we will miss ALL four rides! We are totally bummed. I don't think it's too unusual for Disney to start refurbishments after a busy summer season winds down. What suprised me, though, was the length of some of these downtimes. Three of the rides will be down at least three weeks to over a month long. Yikes!

Hi SenecaWolf,

Echoing everyone's thoughts on being sad that your sister cannot go on the trip but happy that there's a good ending with your sweetie (and birthday in there too!).

Could I also have a LGMH without my username? I think the "KSL" is too short to look nice. Classic characters would be great. Thanks!

Also wanted to ask, are you still updating the ADRs list? No pressure - I know it's a TON to go through. But I had posted mine awhile back and don't see them yet. I can repost or find the post number if needed. I will try to post park-day plans soon, too -- I know you asked for those to be reposted recently.

Thanks again for all you do on this thread, especially with everything else going in in your life these past months.

I am bummed for my daughter the carrousel will be down hopefully it reopens on time since that is our last day. I wanted to share with you all my coworker just got back and she and a couple other families were able to walk up to BOG for dinner and got seated so it may be worth a shot.

Wow, that's good to hear. I hope lunch service is just as easy. :goodvibes I've read about long lines for lunch, so I hope it isn't as bad as we are expecting!
