(Final 8/12)The WILDEST Ride in the Wilderness!" Princess Half Marathon TR/Feb.2014

That stinks about turbulence. glad you all made it safely.

I am glad Eleanor relaxed after 1st night in Disney. Sure that was nerve wracking :goodvibes

In the pic of Magical Express Bus, looks like the guy with the stop sign was strumming it like it was a guitar :rotfl:

That was a really long DME line!! Holy smokes!

I always post bout my travel day too... my trips starts so long before I actually get to WDW, that it seems right... but I too feel like it is boring. Maybe not though... maybe it is just the opposite. There is all the anticipation of "did they get there alright"

Speaking of that... turbulence is never fun. So glad that Eleanor was able to brave it considering she has not flown before.

Starbucks coffee... ::yes:: definitely a must!

I know! So many people and so little time! I can't wait to hear about your race, how did it go???

It went great, I'm addicted to Disney races now! :rotfl: I'm sort of planning to do 2015 Princess (on my own for the weekend) and then 2015 Tower of Terror (with the family and a friend).

Your first day sounds a lot like ours! So many lines, so much waiting! I used my point and shoot the entire trip, so I keep giggling when you're semi apologizing for not using the big camera!

Ohmygosh, I seriously didn't mean to go a few days, but I got wrapped up in writing my Race Report on my blog (the link is in my siggy if you want to read it but I'll recap it here as well) AND I was kind of planning my next trip/race in 350 days with Nicole! :rotfl2:

So, where were we?! Yes, waiting. We arrived at Pop, slid through the shorty-short Online Check-in Line (man, that regular line was long!) and were checked in quickly. I got all my requests! I requested 60's & highest floor. There was a reason for this. First off, Savannah wanted the highest floor, less noise and people walking by your door. I wanted a lake view of AoA. No problem! The 60s sections that are NOT preferred, are ALL lake view, so I passed on requesting lake view and just went the 60s/highest floor and got exactly what I wanted! :thumbsup2

We dropped our bags, took a few pics, and headed down to eat!

Oh, I love that they got rid of the full comforters. They were so dated and ugly, the little decorative one is easy to put up but still makes the room look cute! ;)

View!

It was the Mogli side of the 60s. I think I liked this area better than any of our other stays. Close to the Hippydippy pool and the food court.

WDWPrincesshalf0014.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf0015.jpg

We loveD the Pop Food Court in the past. Oh, did I capitalize that D in LOVED? Yeah, that's b/c we used to love it. Savannah & I both got our old favorites (well, technically mine was the veggie lasagna, which they no longer serve. womp, womp.) but I got the veggieburger. Savannah got her Mac-n-cheese...seriously, this girl talked about how Disney had the best M&C for months and then she got this dried up stuff.

WDWPrincesshalf0018.jpg

She was not happy but ate it anyway and hoped it was a fluke b/c we were a bit late for lunch.

My burger looked good but didn't taste as good as it used to. The fries were fantastic, but I don't normally eat fries...like EVER...like since the last time I was at Disney a year ago...so I'm not the best judge. Just like cupcakes. Gimmie a cupcake and since I don't eat them, I'm pretty much going to think that any cupcake is amazeballs...but I digress...

WDWPrincesshalf0016.jpg

Speaking of cupcakes (guess I'm not digressing!) I got some b/c I saw they had little mini Babycakes! Yay! I didn't eat them right then, however, I saved them and ate them before the race Sunday morning. :p
WDWPrincesshalf0017.jpg

that's because I got my favoritest dessert EVER, tie dye cheesecake. Except it wasn't my favoritist ever b/c they changed it. :crazy2:
Tell me folks, does THIS: (current)
WDWPrincesshalf0021.jpg

look as good as THIS: (past)

or THIS:
Disney2013054.jpg

Uh no. No thank you Disney. Change it back! :furious:

The girls had oreo cupcakes, which seemed to be a big hit.
WDWPrincesshalf0020.jpg

when they could get them in their mouths.
WDWPrincesshalf0019.jpg

We headed up to the room to drop off our mugs and grab what we needed for the Expo (uh...MONEY.)

The girls posed for a photo yet again...and there are millions of these, and I'm gonna post them all. (Nicole and Ann, yes, you can learn from me. POST ALL THE PICTURES!!!) :hyper: BTW, I have come back to edit this and tell you the best way to know if you are posting enough photos is if you go to post and it tells you that you have exceeded the 25 images allowed! (and I cannot even put a laughing smiley here b/c of it!)

WDWPrincesshalf0022.jpg

Savannah had the point and shoot with video, she filled the memory card with video on this trip!
WDWPrincesshalf0023.jpg

And we were off to the Expo!

Up next...where we wait more, walk more, and spend more... ;)

Ah yes.....look who has chosen your blog buddies over her Dis-buddies!! Don't I feel all special and such now!! :sad2: Oh, and by the way, Nicole didn't bite when I suggested that either you or she push me in the wheelchair around the course next year. So, that leaves it up to you! :thumbsup2

So, now you have me re-thinking my requests. You say it's your favorite area so far?? Really?? So, should I be changing my requests? Hmmmm. I kind of really like the 80's area, though, and I can't imagine it's THAT far from the food court --- not if I cut across the parking lot, right??

I believe that is what they call dissing us Nicole.....we must listen and learn from the master!!!

At least now if she ever flies again, it will be a breeze b/c she'll think turbulence is really normal! ;) The line was longer for ME than I had ever seen it!

Uh yes, I'm apparently addicted now as well. My bank account is not happy, so I'm going to have to limit to one race a year but not sure when my family will ever get vacation then!

Hey, you are free to be a blogger friend too, ya know! :p

I won't push you in a wheelchair but all kidding aside, you can TOTALLY do it in a year if you train. Think about it... Planting the seed... you are getting very sleeeepy... :stir:

I wouldn't change your request if you think you'll like 80s! They all have their fun and interesting points and I'm glad I've stayed in a lot of different areas, makes each trip different. We liked the 50s as well and the 90s were our first trip. I just didn't like the 70s, but I don't like that decade anyway, so maybe I'm bias! :lmao:

Oh, I know I could read your blog and I have read a bit, but I'm not a runner so I really can't relate to all the training stuff. I just dont' understand it all. It's nearly impossible for me to get on my treadmill, you know! Besides, my chest area would probably flop up and knock me unconscious!! :lmao: I can assure you, my friend, I am wide awake and not sleepy whatsoever. Nice try, though! Yeah, I think I'm going to keep my requests the way they are, although I really appreciate all of your input and your many, many pictures of POP!! :goodvibes

Joining in! I also ran the PHM and am writing a TR about it, so I'm excited to read about someone elses experience!

That's good to know about the cheesecake! I'd heard so many people talk about how you have to get the tie-dye cheesecake at Pop and it's so great. So we saved a snack for it and we ate it and my husband was like "sooooo....why is this awesome?"

Yay!!! Another runner! Can you direct me to your TR? I don't see a link for it! :goodvibes

uh yeah, totally not the same. I don't even know if there was more than a tiny spoonful on one side of the cup-o-cheesecake that had red velvet. Totally not the same! Blech!

Just keep talking about waiting and bad food changes... That really helps squash the Disney fever...

I agree about pop food court. Blech. It has definitely gone downshil

We only ate there twice because of those stupid 15 group girls, but both times..YUCK

This is Rachel (aka rachelandcamera). I'm not good at all about posting comments, but I'm definitely going to be following this. :wave2:

I didn't know they changed the tie-dye cheesecake, but it looks so disappointing now. Sad I never got to try the original.

Enjoy it now, Friday was our least magical of days and it was still pretty exciting! ;)

It used to be SO good! I had heard that it changed, but totally reserved my judgement and was so sad that what I had read was right.

We SO lucked out! I worried about the 15s (bad experience last trip at Pop with them) and the first night when we came in, I saw a handful of them in the gift shop...then...NOTHING. I think we actually arrived on the say they left! :woohoo:

Rachel, you are so elusive!!! :rotfl2: I even wrote about you in my race recap and didn't know how to link to who you were or say anything other than your name was Rachel and you worked at Disney and took amazing pictures! :goodvibes AND, I never got to properly thank you. I know you probably didn't realize it, but when you started to run with us, it really helped me. I needed a distraction and listening to you and April chat was perfect!

How the h#ll did I miss you started this? I was actaully looking for it in your siggy and didn't see it.

I will go back and comment appropriatly tonight after getting my puppy home today!!! :cheer2:

Yhea. TR time.

Jeez, slowpoke! :rotfl2:

Yay for pup coming home!!! :lovestruc

Caught up. Caught up! Yhea.. caught up. Can't believe I failed on this one. Discover you have a TR THREE PAGES IN. Sigh. I'll blame it on the excitement of planning an outfit I'm going to wear in 350 days!! Which is going to be sooooooooooooo cool.. so totes worth it!

Sorry about the cheesecake. That is a royal bummer. Hopefully you found some other stuff that made up for it- even if not at Pop!

Great pics of Eleanor and Savannah outside the room. Even if, ahem.... you called me out on posting them all and there is only one. Just sayin'.

Oh Ann, don't discount yourself. There are actually 'walkers' only in these races. You could always work and train for the 5K or the 10K and not the 1/2 That would get you cupcakes and booze... and of course, awesome company.

Joining in! I also ran the PHM and am writing a TR about it, so I'm excited to read about someone elses experience!

I see you are doing ToT?! Me too!!! Very excited! :) (sorry, that was a takeover of your TR Karen)

Just keep talking about waiting and bad food changes... That really helps squash the Disney fever...

It won't last Hope. The fever will come back strong- especially with Karen's awesome pics. I mean, she has not even gotten to her DRINKING yet... so... ya know?!?... it's coming..........

Jeez, slowpoke! :rotfl2:

Yay for pup coming home!!! :lovestruc

I here now!!! With a pup in my lap. All caught up! :flower3:

Joining along! We could have waved at you from our room at AOA. Very interested to hear how the race went as I am seriously considering doing this myself next year.
