Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

NO!!!

I haven't had a chance to visit the Japan pavillion in my most recent trips a few years but I was hoping she (or a replacement) was still doing this! I remember waiting what felt like hours until her next "showing" and I would be up there front and center to make sure I received one of her beautiful creations!

When did she leave? The last time I remember her was probably sometime around 2001...

It was really sad when she had to leave. It was just a couple years ago. DW and I miss her very much!

Love that If you Had Wings pic. We really miss that one!

Does anyone have a pic of the outside and inside of the old Penny Arcade on Main Street when it really was a penny arcade? To this day I think I miss that place the most!

From wikipedia (so it must be true):

Miyuki is an Ame Zaiku artist who had performed at Epcot's Japanese Pavilion inside the World Showcase since 1996; with her last performances occurring on November 23, 2013.

Thank you both for the information. I could have seen her in my last 3 trips but with 3 young kids, the World Showcase was never their preferred place and we never made it over there. I wish have I would have drug them over there now. I was just telling them about her and they wanted to visit this year. We will be walking around World Showcase this year! The kids and my husband are missing out on more than they realize.

Thanks, everyone for the awesome pics! What a great thread. Feeling very nostalgic now........and somewhat soupy-eyed for the days of yore.

By 1997 those Aladdin parade camels were standing either side of the Soundstage Restaurant - where Playhouse Disney is now. No idea if they were still spitting! Look, it featured the Hunchback of Notre Dame too, remember the play in MGM - that was fab! I have no pics of it but we used to keep piles of the bell shaped confetti that was released from the ceiling!!

I remember this!!! There was a restaurant somewhere too that you could eat with characters and one was Quasimodo.

I think it might have been both - I thought it was a counter service but when I googled it I found mention of a character buffet too there so I think it had a few different incarnations :)

You could buy a house at Disney World????

Actually, you can buy at house at Disney World now....if you are a millionaire....you can live at Golden Oak. This was actually a picture of a house on residential street at MGM....now Hollywood Studios. It was part of the Backlot Tour once upon a time. The houses were just facades.
