Something I've noticed about BB online orders for gcs...I've had gc only orders paid with gcs cancelled right away and gc + additional item paid for with all gcs cancelled. All my orders for gcs + additional item where I've paid with gcs for everything except the additional item (usually batteries) with gc then paid the remainder with credit card have all shipped, never had one cancelled and I've done 7 this way so far. I've also received debates on the full amount each time (even cancelled orders), but it's taken about a week each time to post.

You don't even need him to sell you a Target card. He could sell you a weather rock. He lists it for $1000 or whatever amount you're trying to cash out. You buy it, pay w your EBay GCs. Those are gone -- Great. Do this when you get 8% Ebucks plus Ebates. Now husband gets paid in the form of Paypal funds (not GCs). However, he owes 10%-12% to Ebay/Paypal which he'll get billed for at the end of the month.

To make it less shady than to sell a rock you could sell an Xbox or other valuable object. You'll lose those Paypal fees on the sale, but make Ebucks and Ebates. There is no profit... just a loss, but barely so if you can get high Ebucks and you wouldn't otherwise get those and you don't mind paying fees now to recoup them later.

It all seems fine, however I'd bet Ebay watches for things like this and it would be grounds for termination of your accounts. Don't know.

DO NOT DO THIS! You will get banned by eBay. They do not look favorable on buying from related parties and they do know somehow. Years ago, my mom was selling something on eBay and decided she didn't want to sell it. She asked me to bid a ridiculous amount because it was too late to cancel. I did and when the auction ended we both got notices and warnings. They called it shill bidding I think (trying to run the price up by having someone you know place a bid). EBay and PayPal are both very fickle and will ban you.

Liked for originality and laughs, but I agree with @kool_kat, it's shill bidding. Years ago, my friend used multiple accounts to heat up bidding and inflate the final price on his auctions. It didn't take eBay long to figure things out and shut down his accounts. If you want to try this, you'll have to find someone much more distantly related (and even located) than your husband or parent.

So you ordered online at BB? Did you have to add anything else to your order to get it to go through and not cancel as has happened to some? I hesitate to do BB to eBay gcs this way first, because it's just so easy in store to purchase the loadable cards. And secondly don't wanna get it cancelles, lol. Be because the $50 gcs will be a bit more if a pain. But, getting some ebates this way definitely makes it more attractive for sure!

I didn't add anything to the order, and now I am supposed to have ebay cards waiting for me at BB. I forgot to activate ebates though. GRRRRR .

To contribute in the BB online order GC to pick up in store, I had it successfully processed once for 4x $50.00 Disney GC only and paid with BB GC. And cancelled 3 times. At the same store. I wonder if it's someone literally there cancelling it.

I will say the posts you quoted in your post, did make me think. And, like you say it's good to have someone to bounce ideas off of. I have to say, on the one hand I'd be a bit worried. On the other, if I had someone to do this with, could be interesting, lol! I mean if I had a friend, who I don't live with, though in the same town, and only posting an item for buy it now so no driving the price up... Idk, interesting anyway, at least to end up with cash if necessary... Yep, I miss getting my target/ebay/promo fix!

So, I'm thinking I have this right - your're the poster who was buying all the Disney gc's on ebay the other day? I was wondering how that all went? I was planning to use my ebucks in July to buy BB then disney for that money, keeping my churnings cards still for churning at this point, while I still can. But, your post also got me thinking, if I can't get anything through PPDG, what about buying the Disney cards straight away there? So, how did that work out for you? I was looking at the Disney cards a bit and I didn't find a lot. A couple for like $475 for 495, so twenty bucks more. And another for like 400 for 415. And they had good feedback, though the $400 one had feedback for that person as a buyer not as a seller. There were a couple $50 cards with an extra charge for $7.99 for them. I remember you saying you bought like $3000 there from individual sellers. Did I just miss a lot of cards or are they just all gone now? Just kind of wondering how all that worked out for you. I'm assuming you had to buy them as physical gc's and you'll have to wait to have sent to you. Did you pay with ebay gc's thru your paypal? INterested to see and hope it all goes well for you!

I do have the Amex Preferred so I'm thinking of buying a Target gc at the grocery store, earning 6%, then the 5 % redcard discount =11%. I may open a DVA for the additional 2% but not sure yet. Is there any way to add to the percentages here???? We have lost the ebates for gc purchases right?

@havaneslover just posted about this a few pages back. Wait for a 4x fuel promo (if Kroger) and then purchase your gift cards then. Kroger is having a promo right now (thru 19th). When filling up, take gas cans (or 2 cars) to max out on the gas you can get.

The only thing I can think of is if you're able to take advantage of any fuel rewards programs at your grocery store. With my small gas tank and a max 10 gallon fill up, fuel rewards are only worth an extra 2% for me on normal 2X on gift card purchases. I wish I could could take advantage of Kroger's 4X promos but Fred Meyer stores (our Kroger here in Portland) isn't categorized as a grocery store with AMex for some reason.

My last couple of gift cards purchases at Target only received Ebates on the non gift card portion.

It's good thru Saturday 6/18. The RiteAid offers don't usually show up on the Plenti page unless it's a special offer. The offer is in the RiteAid ad.

An update....

I just got off the phone with the eBay rep (he called me back!). I'm still not able to make a purchase from PPDG. We tried a bunch of stuff, but no go. I think I got the message through that the problem is with PPDG. He is going to take the issue to his manager and the other reps to see what can be done. I mentioned the feedback showing that others are having the same issue. He said that if they can see a trend they will do what they can to put an end to it. I'm not going to hold my breath, but I will hold out some hope that maybe, just maybe, this problem can be fixed for all of us.

And that is only the feedback from ppl who can actually make a purchase. There are so many that cannot buy or have just given up (me included). I called yesterday and was given all kinds of excuses including that I do not use PP enough - I have been buying and selling on Ebay since 1999, and use PP pretty much everyday.

Frankly, I've been very fortunate at GS. (Knock on wood). If that Avenue were to close for me, I would simply buy something to list on Ebay. I *might* incur some losses (but if I buy on sale, maybe not too much), but the overall amount I have churned so far would more than cover that.

Besides, I don't mind going to GS. there are a thousand near me and I've found the staff very friendly and helpful.

Question regarding the buying discounted Target GCs at Raise and then buying Disney GCs on target.com with Red Card as backup to get addt'l 5% off. I did the once and used a $200 gc I bought off Raise, I bought $150 in disney GCs and used the other $50 for random things I needed.

I bought another $300 off raise yesterday, but I need to get the GCs quickly to pay off our package. Then I need to collect some more in the next 1-2 months for our food and park purchases.
I've tried to wade through this thread a time or two but I get lost quickly in some of the ebay stuff.

Is there a concern of me buying just $300 of GCs in one transaction with no other purchases? Should i split it up? Or split it up over days and also buy other things. I'm a bit confused.

200-300 at a time should be fine as long as you space it out. People were putting in fillers to get ebates.

I bought 2 BB and 2 GS in the same transaction for $150 total. Worked great!
