Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Today is the first day we're using the buses at BC. We had to walk to the new stop. The cart guy wasn't around. It's not a long walk but in the rain or heat it wouldn't be fun. The area is covered but all the benches are wet and there are no fans. So I imagine once the sun is out, it will be hot. I think Disney could've done better, imo, but it's not horrible or anything. Everything else so far in our trip as been great. Our room had an awesome view of the HS fireworks at night. Looking forward to a great day at MK, whenever the bus arrives. The bus guy with iPad thingy has no clue. Oh well, letting go of any negativity and embracing the magic! :tink:

I love your positive attitude. :)

I was wondering if there is an exit door for the villas that would be close to the temporary BC bus stop. If it was raining or really hot then people could use that door to walk through the two resorts without getting wet, or hot. It would be just like using the Epcot secret door. ::yes::

The exit door from the Villas nearest the parking lot is really not much closer. It is near the Dunes Cove pool. I suppose you could walk through the main BC Lobby, past the Marketplace, out the door and over that way. It would be a longer walk I think, for not much advantage. JMHO

Finished our 3 night stay at GF's Royal Palm Club, on to YC!! Got my room ready text as we were checking out at GF at 9:25 this morning! :cool1: We're at Magic Kingdom now. Crowd seems very light. The security tables were actually empty as we arrived at 9:40. Took some pictures but it won't let me post them.

We'll head to YC early this afternoon. Great trip so far!

There was an exit door close to the new bus area in the villas. But my DH Magic band wouldn't unlock it. We're staying CL not villas. So not sure if it's just locked to everyone or only villa guests can open.

I'm doing the 60-day Dance! :cool1: I was up and on MDE at 7:00 sharp and snagged my FP+s. Since we're going the week before Thanksgiving, I don't think I had too much competition, but thankful to have gotten our priority FP+s. I CANNOT WAIT!!! :yay:

I'm jealous. We're there around the same time, but don't check in until the 15th, so still two more days until FP+

Our FP day is tomorrow! I'm so excited! I'm also a bit nervous, because my sister and her husband are joining us but not until four days later, so I have to try to match up their FPs with ours on Saturday. Very nervous about getting Frozen to match up. I'm sure everything else will be fine.

We're in the same boat. My in-laws don't check in until two days after us and my DMIL (I won't say what the D stands for) is insistent that she has to ride on FEA with the kids or else the whole vacation will just be ruined.

Writing now from BC :) We've been here for a week and we'll leave friday. it was an incredible stay, We loved the beach club and everything was perfect! great cast members, always happy and helpfull (the cast members in the marketplace were really nice!)
Our room was 4540, quite a standard room with a wood view. Plenty of space, super clean and the bed were really comfy ^^ (from the balcony was also possible to see the fireworks!)
SAB it's really a nice pool, we never found any crowds there.
The gym is really nice, you can find all what you need and it's super clean!

Cape may cafe was a nice place, we tried it both for dinner and breakfast. I prefer it for breakfast, but it's just me eheh :) when we went for the dinner we had a little issue, we waited almost 40 minutes and after we discovered that the pager they gave to us was not working...but that was the only issue.

The parks were not crowded at all, we never waited in line for more than 20 minutes. And we always found new FP after the initial 3 were gone (seem that finding a FP for space mountain is really easy).

the only things that annoied me was the bus way for the water parks....going to Typhoon lagoon is easy, but changing at animal kingdom to go to blizzard beach was really a pain...

oh, almost forgot...
We had the regular dining plan (got it free with the UK package offer). just one thing: OMG, that is too much food!!! really, we will use all the table service credit (we did 2 signature dining and CRT, so 3 with 2 credit each) but using all the snacks and the quick service credit is so hard...really, too much for us....and please, no more dessert xD

I. Am. SO. Jealous!
Those crowds look perfect. Sadly, as a teacher, I will NEVER get there at this time of year until I retire. So..only a scant 18 or more years to go!

I share your pain. To vacation anywhere as a teacher (without faking some kind of horrible illness and hoping you don't get caught) you have to deal with heavier crowds and higher "peak season" pricing. Flights two weeks before or two weeks after our winter break holiday, for example, are half the price. And the $249 night at MCO on our last night saves us a fortune over BCV holiday prices, which is scary when you think about it. If it wasn't our 20th anniversary there's no way we'd be doing a holiday trip. I've promised DH lots of hotel time (no commando 16 hour days in the Xmas crowds, unfortunately) to make up for dragging him to Disney during the busiest time of the year.

But, we get extra time off to make up for not having any choice about when that time off is, so I guess that's the up side of it. I've only got three years or so until retirement, though, and I'm looking forward to enjoying those low crowds in the not too distant future.

To everyone that's there now, please post lots of trip reports and pics so the rest of us can live vicariously... :jumping3:

Just got home at midnight last night. Suffering from BC withdrawl.
This afternoon, as I was doing laundry, I thought, "24 hrs ago I was floating around the Lazy River in Storm Along Bay"
I am right there with you! It was so nice meeting you! Glad to hear you had a great stay. We loved the BC so much and I've been home since Saturday and still missing it like crazy. Tikiman was on our flight home, so I got to meet him finally lol.

I keep saying the same things - "this time last week we were at AK and coming back to enjoy ice cream from Beaches & Cream." Ughh I can't wait to go back next Sept.

There is a door by the far end of the villas by the parking lot, you could walk through villas to get there, but only guests staying in the villas can open that door so it won't do much good when coming back.

Moving over to YC tomorrow from CSR and it was cloudy all day today then the skies opened up around 5 and it poured so don't be too jealous. I was at the CSR pool and everyone had to get out, a bunch of people standing under a small overhang at a pool bar, fun. It let up enough after about 15 min for everyone to dash to their rooms but is only just now letting up. Yes, the crowds were light. HM, POC, Little Mermaid and Winnie the Pooh all walkons. Space Mountain was showing a 10 min. wait when I looked, I can't ride it so not sure but it was probably a walk on too. The only rides at MK with any kind of lines were Peter Pan and SDMT, when I walked by both were 50 min.
