***Hey, Hey! Come right in and plan, OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2017 thread!!!***

This trip is a one and done for us, so I am hoping that I am on the right track for my thinking. Thinking about our personalities as travellers, I know that we will more than likely suit an early start, an afternoon break, and a return to a park. So my thinking is EMH at the parks with it, break in the middle of the day, and then return to the recommended parks from crowd calendars (have cross referenced a couple of sites, although aware this will change with Pandora). Looks great on paper so far, haha.

My DH and I decided that instead of our Disney Cruise in February 2018 we are going to go to Italy in the Fall. We have some friends that have some DVC points they need to use up, so instead of the short trip before the cruise in February, we are going to use the points in December before my AP expires. So know I am planning 2 trips with a little more than a month between. Plus figuring out the Italy trip. :faint:

Ive booked my ADRs for October and not so patiently waiting for Food and Wine events to be announced. Then I can most likely cancel all the current ADR's and rebook them around the F&W plans. I still havent decided whether to go to the Halloween Party or just keep my California Grill ADR and watch the fireworks up there.

Hi all!

If I've missed any of you on the big list, let me know so I can add you, thanks! :)

Yay! I got our party tickets. However, I now have an issue where the eTickets that I printed out have the correct date (10/27) but MDE is showing that we have tickets for 10/28. That won't work as we fly back on the 28th. Will this be a problem since I have the paper tickets or should I try to get on the phone with someone to sort it out?

Does it say 10/28/16? My tickets on MDE all have 2016 dates but say "good through (correct 2017 date)". It's a glitch I'm assuming will be corrected at some point.

I have to admit to everyone, I have ZERO plans to watch Rivers Of Light! :rotfl:

I may watch what is replacing wishes, but most likely from Polynesian's beach. I've seen Illuminations so many times, I can't say we will stay and watch.

Sacrilege, I know.

But I am looking forward to watching Hallowishes!

Do you think it is safe for me to wait a while to purchase my tix for either 10/17 or 10/19? I think I read somewhere that only one or two parties sold out last year. I haven't been able to devote the time I need to plan out my week yet, plus not knowing AK hours is also making it difficult for me to plan.

Hi All. Bittersweet planning as I need to cancel my parents trip. Since booking, my father has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer (this is the 1st time I've posted this online). I am trying to hold it together emotionally and financially to still make this happen for my DH and DD. Disney has been such an incredible bonding experience for them and blessing to us all. Every plan pulls a heart string but I know it's the right thing to do. I need this source of light in my life and to show stability for my child. Disney planning is helping me hope for the best everyday while I face some of the darkest times of my life. Today I reserved MNSSHP for Halloween, today my dad started radiation. The mother in me just wants to provide joy for my child, as the child in me is suffering so much for my daddy. It's an irony I wish for no one. That all said, I hope to have us there 10/27 to 11/4. Currently booked at the Poly but most likely that will change. Moving on I am hoping for a miracle and to bounce back next year with my parents, with my father in remission.

Has anyone been able to book either of the MK Dessert Parties (Plaza standing or Tomorrowland sitting) for October? The website shows that it's open for booking, but I just keep getting the UNAVAILABLE message for any date in Oct or Nov. I know this is a popular event, especially with the new FW show, but not sure it really full or just hasn't been loaded up yet.

IIRC, it won't open up until they open the special events fireworks party (assuming they do?)
