Disney Gift Card Deals

I think there have been a small number of people reporting they had trouble. But, it is very rare. It's standard practice at all of the best buy stores I have bought them at. The guys at one of the stores recognize me now and get excited about my trips, lol.

The trouble stems from purchasing Disney Gift Cards online however in-store I didn't have any issues.

Really? Is this printed somewhere? Have you tried?

The Buy $150 gift card/Get $15 savings code deal is processed through Cashstar and there's nowhere in the checkout process to enter in a BBY GC code and pin; credit and debit cards only. I've taken advantage of these deals several times. No go.

Even if this deal were like the third-party gift cards sold on BBY .com and shipped for delivery or set for in-store pickup, where you can enter a BBY GC to pay for your order, the website will almost certainly cancel the order because of the GC for GC transaction.

Thank you for this. I've never done this deal so now I know what to expect.:thanks: I'll also delete my original post so it does not confuse anyone.

So anyone in/around the Chattanooga, Tennessee area been able to buy a Disney gift card with a Target gift card lately?

Well, I've been busy on this rainy day!

Purchased 2 of the $150 Best Buy GCs with the $15 Fathers Day bonuses.
(I hope to God that BB doesn't suddenly change their policy and not allow gift card with gift card purchases in-store! The $15 bonuses aren't sent via email until 7/7. Will be "fingers crossed" til I have those Disney GCs in my hand!)

Then I used Sams GC earned on Swagbucks + other "found" money to buy a $500 Disney GC via Sams Club website. (yes, back in stock as of 1 hr ago)

No, there's been a couple of in-store issues, but as I said they are very rare.

I know one story I read, the woman was basically accused of fraud and the manager told her she couldn't buy the cards at that store anymore.

I myself have had to make one cashier get the manager, because she thought I couldn't buy the variable load Disney card, but it's actually the variable load visa/mastercards they don't let you buy with the Best Buy gift cards. So, the manager told her any of the Disney gift cards are fine.

I had zero issue when I purchased my Disney GC on 5/31/17 in Utica MI. I used a BB gift Card. I agree it's rare as in VERY rare.

I'm on the other side of the state! I've been buying them there for several years there and have only had that one instance with the cashier, I think she was new and didn't want to mess anything up.

If Staples or OfficeMax has Disney (I know Staples does), you might want to just go straight to Disney, since you can't stack REDcard discounts with gift cards anymore at Target. You'd be buying a Target gift card that you'll trade for a Disney card 1:1 -- it's just an extra step with no gain. If there's Best Buy gift cards, you can take that in store to buy a Disney card and earn Shopkicks that you can save up to redeem for more useful gift cards at usually a 0.8% bonus. If there's Walmart, you can use those at Sam's Club which sells Disney cards at a discount.
There is a 2% gain if you get perks. For every $500 I spend I can get $10 off groceries, for example.

I get the same thing at CVS with the cashiers. When stacking coupons to get free items it's always the newbies that give me grief but certainly not to a point I won't keep getting them :D

Thanks for the heads up on separate rewards, I assumed we can just combine them all and use at once but maybe not. I'll give it a try this week hopefully and see what happens.

OK thanks, like you, we can just apply it to our regular grocery then.

When it comes to paying for gift cards with Rewards points at Meijer, it's not even an option. You know how when you have rewards, after you scan your first item, it pops up on the screen asking you if you want to redeem that reward? That doesn't happen if you are only purchasing gift cards. It will pop up if you are purchasing gift cards as well as other items, but if you have a $5 reward and buy a $50 gift card and $2 worth of other items, you're still paying $50 and losing out on $3 of that reward.

In regards to redeeming multiple rewards in one transaction, you can absolutely do this. There's no limit on the number of rewards you can redeem at one time. They will pop up one at a time after you have scanned your first item and it gives you the option of whether or not to apply it. Again though, just be careful that you aren't redeeming more in rewards than the total price of your items or you forfeit any remaining value of the rewards. I did this once when I wasn't paying attention and redeemed $30 worth of smaller monetary rewards but only had $23 and change worth of stuff in my cart. I didn't realize it until I checked the receipt after leaving the store.

Thanks. I don't think I've seen Disney cards at staples or OM but I will check for sure. Twenty percent is good enough for me if I feel I can do it in one step. I was looking for a card that I thought would be easiest to use in a gift card for gift card transaction, if OM or Staples doesn't have them.

I can't seem to figure out the Cartwheel app... :-(
Perks isn't available nationwide yet, it's in the Cartwheel app but only for select locations still. I made the mistake of upgrading my app cuz I thought they were rolling out soon and lost my store locate feature but no perks to make up for it! Bummed. But if you don't see anything fun in the Cartwheel app, it's not you, it's probably just not there yet.

I did this last time since there was a coupon for $10 off $100 best buy going on at the same time this was offered. You'll get each reward as separate $5 mperk even if you buy more than $50 at once.

I haven't used MPerks in like forever and am a little confused by your wording. So if I buy a $500 GC I get ONE $5 MPerk reward? Where as if I purchase 10 - $50 GC I'll earn $25 MPerk reward and they will be listed in $5 increments?

There is nothing to worry about as the Best Buy gift cards clearly state on the back of the gift card that the only thing excluded are prepaid open loop cards. If Best Buy wants to change their terms and conditions, they can change them for future purchases of gift cards but not on gift cards that are already sold.

This is very different than when ebay stopped allowing purchase of gift cards with gift cards, because while ebay had allowed gift card to gift card purchases, they did not have any explicit language in their gift card terms and conditions saying it was allowed.

You can buy the variable load for $500 and you will get 10 individual $5 mperk rewards which can all be used on one transaction, you just have to click apply reward 10 times on your next purchase. These rewards cannot be redeemed for gift cards however. Usually I just start my shopping trip with going to the counter and buying the Disney card then go do my grocery shopping and use them all on that trip.

Thank you! This is still a nice savings!

Okay, I'm super new to the buying Disney gift cards game and want to make sure I have the right idea. I can go onto Best Buy.com and buy a 150.00 Best Buy gift card. Then next month I will get an email with a 15.00 Best Buy gift card as a reward. I can take the original 150.00 gc I bought and the additional 15.00 gc into the store and buy a Disney gift card for 165.00. Is that all right? Is there a limit of how many 150.00 gc that can be bought? Thank for any help!
