Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I think the last time we stayed there CL I managed to call one of the CL numbers and they were great at explaining the differences in what was served at the DLH and the GCH. We chose the GCH again because of the midday snacks (scones, tea sandwiches, veggies, and those chocolate strawberries) and were glad we did. It was a last minute trip and it was great to be able to go up to the lounge and snack up there in the middle of the day (and it's so conveniently located with regard to the parks, too). It was insanely crowded the night we checked in, and I was thinking we made a big mistake, but by the next morning it was quiet up there and it never was overcrowded again during our stay. Hope you enjoy it! :goodvibes:
Thanks !

For a short trip my tummy will be on eastern time so by 5pm apps it will feel like 8p. I think I'll use it more during the day. DLH was similar to CR and only had a few things.

Packed today! Lots of shorts a heat wave hitting there next weekend!

We returned from WDW a few days ago. Did a split between BC CL and GF RPC. I just want to add that they are letting people use the BC lounge now in between servings, which is really nice. There were quite a few people relaxing there during the 4-5pm time when they usually are closed to prep for the appetizers. I thought this was a really good change. Housekeeping was another story (we only got 1 night of turn down out of three at the BC, and one day of housekeeping was also skipped. And yes, we did talk to the CMs every day about this).

Following with the WL CL theme, here's a loose overview of my two-night stay in May:

CMs: All super nice and genuinely warm and caring. Two (!!) native Spanish speakers, which was a real bonus for my family. We were always encouraged to heap our plates and we never felt like nuisances asking for beer early on in the afternoon (or even to-go cups for said beer.) Also has anyone encountered Lucille at the lounge or at Roaring Fork? She says she is working the lounge temporarily until RF is back up and running but honestly she is an angel on earth and I will make an effort to seek her out once I'm back!!

Thank you so much for the thorough review. I will have to go back to the WL soon.

Hearing such great things about wl cl makes me think we should switch. Not going until August 2018 so plenty of time to decide but reading all these posts is making me confused and excited all at once.

We are going for two weeks so unfortunately budget won't allow gf, poly or contemporary. What resorts would be best for a four and two year old? We have stayed at AKL cl in 2015 and loved it, we think the kids will love the animals and pool but part of me thinks we shouldn't go to the same resort twice. We will probably definitely going to akl I'm 2022 (I know ages away) for a big extended family holiday, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neices and nephews etc so should we go somewhere anywhere in between? Any ideas appreciated

For 2 weeks - I would do a split stay. The BC/YC has a great pool. Maybe you can do a split stay with the WL and BC. We also like the BWI CL but the pool isn't as nice as the BC.

Missing the cleaning is so annoying, I have had that and turndown missed at times too.

I like that they are letting people sit for 4-5. Why not? If we have a glass of wine and unwind we won't jump on them at 5!!

How was rpc ? Any changes?

I checked out of AKL today and in to WL CL for my final week of a 3 week vacation. WOW. I have only been here since 1130 and the experience has already blown the other two hotels out of the water.(I should add my stay at BC was not in Club Level)

Fabulous treatment from the minute we arrived. Fussed alll over my 2 year old son calling him by name, escorted up to the lounge and access to our room before midday. Im sitting in the lounge just now and it really is lovely as is the food and drink selection. Had our lunch earlier at Geysers Point which is a fantastic addition. We have not stayed here since 2014 and have always felt most comfortable here, this has really confirmed it.

Overall. WL already a clear winner with pass marks for AKL and their lounge staff but a definite 'fail' for BC.

Any queries on WL Ill try and answer them as Ill be here for 7 days. Unfortunately my photography skills are as bad as my IT skills so pictures me be problematic.

All the best.

Glad you are enjoying WL CL (again). It's one of our favorites. Hope you enjoy the rest of your time there :wizard:.

Excited to try WL's Club Level for the first time next month! We spent a week in a Woods View room in 2005 so it's been quite awhile since we stayed there!

It's been quite awhile since our WL CL stay, but CL seems to get the same glowing reviews as it did years ago when we stayed there. I hope you have a great stay :).

We are booked for WLCL in August and put in a request for bunk beds! I wonder how many CL bunkbed rooms there are?

I hope you get your request! I don't know how many bunkbed rooms there are, but we had bunks when our boys were little and they loved them. If you aren't assigned bunks, you can always ask if a bb room is available. It's not guaranteed your room can be changed, but it never hurts to ask ;).

Following with the WL CL theme, here's a loose overview of my two-night stay in May:

Check-in: As another poster recently mentioned, WL has the warm welcoming technique down pat. We were received at the entrance by a sweet CM who welcomed us back (we'd been there in February and he remembered us somehow.) He took us up to the lounge while giving my brother a mini-tour since it was his first time there. As I posted that morning in a hazy sleep-deprived bliss, I was immediately handed a mimosa during breakfast and notified that our room was ready (at 8:00 AM!) We were checked in by a Puerto Rican CM and we all reveled in being loud islanders (my parents felt so much more comfortable having someone who spoke Spanish around.) She gave my brother and mom bday buttons and even hooked it up with extra boxes of chocolate. It was awesome.

Room: I opted for a Deluxe Room since we were four adults traveling together. I felt worried about us feeling cramped, but we all had more than enough room to spread around. My dad said it was like an apartment. We were in room 5000, which was exactly the room I requested via DSS. Fairly quiet (you can hear the boats and the geyser, but faintly) and we got a kick out of cramming into the tiny second balcony to watch HEA one night. It was a trek to a lounge, (albeit a pleasurable trek,) so there was a bit of family bartering involved to see who would go up to grab rounds of drinks and snack refills. The CMs would provide us with cardboard trays to carry stuff down whenever we asked. Which brings me to...

Lounge offerings: Breakfast was the same, usual spread with the addition of whole-grain croissants. (I ate two each morning after haphazardly smooshing them into the toaster.) Amazing evening apps included shrimp fagioli (chef said it was her latest recipe), nigiri, pork sliders, corn chowder... needless to say it was a gluttonous experience. Monday night's menu listed roasted chicken with tomatoes, but it never made an appearance. My dad's allergic to shellfish, so he was kind of looking forward to it as his option for the evening. We asked the manager CM and he called in and had a grilled chicken breast with broccolini brought up, made to order from the kitchen, just for my dad to eat. An amazing customer service moment, especially since they don't "have" to accomodate us (they could've just told us to go out and buy dad a steak or something, you know?) One thing I definitely noticed from last time was how much they'd stepped up their dessert game since then. Last time deserts had a more homemade, (dare I say basic?) feel to them. Cobbler, cookies, and cupcakes topped with tacky, too-much-food-coloring frosting. Desserts were much fancier this time around, with panna cotta in mini milk jars, mocha cupcakes topped with pearls, and the ubiquitous cobbler. (Funny story: One night the cobbler was strawberry-rhubarb. My mom, having never "experienced" rhubarb was flabbergasted: "Why'd they ruin a perfectly good cobbler by putting CELERY in it?") I was pleasantly surprised by this new direction in WL CL desserts but still think they should reach a middle ground. My brother bemoaned the absence of cookies.

Housekeeping: First night was a fail since we never got turndown service and had to call in someone to help us with the sofa bed around 10 PM. However, the following day and night we had great service. Lots of chocolates, extra H2O sea salt toiletries (please tip your housekeepers!) and extra sheets and blankets for the sofa bed.

Thanks for your detailed review. Glad you had a great time and enjoyed WL CL :wizard:.

Since you've stayed AKL CL and are going back in the future, I think I'd give WL CL a try. We've stayed at both (although not CL at AKL) and both are awesome places to stay. With that said, I think WL CL is worth a try :goodvibes.

We're booked this august at BC CL. I'm kind of nervous of reviews I've been reading. We stayed at wl in a regular room years ago and loved it. Doing BC for the pool. We met a cl guest when we stayed wl that year and he said WL was his favorite CL out of them all. Its such a warm resort.

WL CL is great! We've stayed at the BC (not CL) and while we had a nice time, it's not one of our favorites. Nothing went wrong with our stay, we just prefer the MK area and like the theme/decor/ambiance of WL over BC. For us, SAB was ok and I'm glad we tried it, but we actually like the WL pool (among others) more than SAB (just personal preference). With that said, BC CL has been getting decent reviews lately, so it might be worth a try if it's a resort/CL you've been wanting to try :).

I just want to say, reading all the great reviews of WL's Club Level, I am so happy we finally decided to book this one! We'll be there 7/17 to 22! :)

You won't regret it! Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

Thanks for the update on the BC lounge being open between food service times. Hope you had a great time at both BC CL and GF RPC :wizard:.

Awesome to hear that BC lounge is now staying open in between servings. That was one of my pet peeves about that lounge....as much as we have loved staying there, it was always so disappointing to not be able to just hang out and relax in there. It has been a couple years since we've stayed there and I'm sort of itching to get back. I miss the pool and how we used to end our nights strolling through Epcot countries! Bummer about the housekeeping - that's so hit or miss at most resorts, and it shouldn't be that way. How was RPC?

That's a slippery slope...if they are actually giving people wine while they wait for cocktail hour to start, it's going to get busy. Then soon there won't be time for them to set up and they'll start closing it again.

Yes, it was a nice change. They were using that second room in the lounge (the one that is farther from the food are but right by the coffee machine) for this purpose. It's ridiculous to close the entire lounge for an hour several times a day when people want to sit there and chat.

RPC was better than our last trip (March, 2016) which was during their cutbacks. We were very disappointed then. This time they had the sticky buns and little egg bites at breakfast, plus yummy chef-made items in the evenings. My only pet peeve there is that they start to put the food out at 7am instead of being ready at 7 - we are rope drop people and were in a hurry to get going and they wanted us to wait about 10 mins to take the food but we needed to get going. Housekeeping was also more reliable there.

thanks, mickeynut1, for your encouragement! We loved WL during our non-CL stays -- so happy to be finally staying CL! :goodvibes

I do want to say something about the Club Lounges staying open between servings, having just returned from AKL-CL and BWI-CL where both lounges remain open. While I'm happy they do, I wish more people would respect the CMs trying to get the next service set up. At AKL especially (this was our 11th or 12th CL stay there and I've observed this each time), people were starting to serve themselves while the CMs were still setting up. I mean, there were several times last week when guests would push past a CM to get at something! I saw it several times at BWI too, but not nearly as intrusive (no pushing!).

And while I'm at it (lol), there are tongs, serving spoons and forks all over the counters. I understand a child reaching in with their hands, but I was stunned at the number of adults who did this!!! One young woman contaminated almost the entire tray of macaroons at BWI! After grabbing several with her hands, she proceeded to push the others around on the tray with her fingers, rearranging them! Maybe I'm a little more sensitive or paranoid than most, but that just grosses me out!!

No, it's not you, that's really gross lol

You are not too sensitive. I have seen this happen almost every time we go. You could ALMOST excuse children doing this but not adults. My children are always supervised or we just grab things for them instead. I'm amazed every time that some adults have no manners!!! Very upsetting. :confused3

Thanks lots of things to think about. With the wl cl changes I have heard all of floor seven isn't club anymore and half is dvc? How have they sectioned it off/how do you access the lounge? Or do they have club access too? Are all club level rooms on the same floor as the lounge? That's one if the things I don't like about akl cl even though I understand why it is set up like that.

I hate people touching the food when there are tongs out. In the same way I hate people that push in front of the queue for the food or jump in front just as you are about to take something. Maybe it's because I'm British and sticking to stereotypes most of us love a queue

You are correct. The entire south portion of the 7th floor is now DVC. The DVC side will not have CL access. There is a "gate" presumably with a MB scanner on the south side of the floor towards the south elevator bank that will restrict access (someone, I wish I could remember who, posted a pic in the last few weeks of this being installed).

So yes, with the exception of the Deluxe Rooms, all of the WL CL rooms are on the 7th floor. When I was there in November a CL CM told me there had been talk of making the 6th floor CL as well. Obviously take that with a BIG grain of salt given the source. But it would kind of make sense given the inventory of CL rooms has been more then 50% reduced with the DVC conversion. Although just speculation on my part based on that CMs comments.

Hope that helps.
