BEST. DAY. EVER. May '17 w/Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby NEW 8/28 x2 THE END!!

I love that Beef Teriyaki Udon! The last time my husband had the currywurst, it wasn't cut up. Definitely easier to eat that way.

I love newbies on Soarin'. In January, there was a young couple near us in line and it was their first time riding. I requested the front row center for all of us so they could get the full appreciation of the ride. They were so cute and excited.

Smart move getting the popcorn bucket! You'll be refilling that regularly on your family trip.

Your Star Wars shirts are really cute.

Your Star Wars Fireworks and Boardwalk at night photos are great!

That's what I love about staying at one of the BW area resorts it's so easy to stop by FW or HS anytime. Looks like you both got some tasty treats from the food booths.
Frozen beer looks interesting :drinking1and I do like my beer ice cold
I love your SW shirt so funny did you get a lot of comments on it?
Glad you got to end May 4th with the SW fireworks perfect :cloud9:

Great pics of all of the great F & G food you got to try. The burnt ends do look amazing!

The fireworks looked great as well and you guys had a really good spot. Can't wait to hear about your other great day!

Sounds like a pretty darn good day to me...can't wait to hear more if that wasn't the best day ever lol. Also, you made me want popcorn lol. That bucket is quite a deal..I just would have a hard time carrying it I think. I am already starting to try to figure out what kind of park bag I want to have for August. I am thinking I have this little mini backpack that might be ideal...but it really would only hold the bare minimum..perhaps a water bottle, wallet, phone and some sunscreen...not a whole lot else...but then...if there is any shopping happening...hmm...so much to plan lol

Great May the 4th day. The FG food looks really good, we missed it this year. I think the express bus is the way to go for park hopping.

The popcorn bucket refills are the best deal at Disney, lol. SW fireworks look like a wonderful way to end the day.

Yours look really good. Not burnt looking, and I can see there's meat there.

It was pretty tasty! And I do admit yours looked a bit burnt out. Maybe it really was just burnt ends!

I don't think Josh ate the veggies in any of his plates :rotfl: So I'm pretty sure he ate the ribs and then declared it done without eating the corn salad.

Oh that's funny. I probably wouldn't have eaten it because it looked too much like a mush but I had a bite and was surprisingly ok.

I love riding Soarin' with newbies!!!

It's so cool, I can't wait to go on with my family! We'll take up about 1.5 rows. Hahaha.

So excited to try this in August! It must cut down the transport times SO much.

It's amazing, you will be whizzing back and forth between parks! Sadly the 29 dollar price is only for 7 days. And we'll be there for 9! So the last 2 days of my trip will be minimal hopping, or, GASP, taking a regular bus.

What?! Ooooh, the suspense!!! :rotfl:

teehee :rolleyes1

All your F&G food and drink choices look so tasty!! I wish we'd tried the watermelon juice. I love watermelon, and Nathan hates it. :P But such tiny cups!

Oh you'd love it! It was sooo refreshing and cold and delicious...but too small! It was gone in 3 gulps.

We also got a popcorn bucket on our last trip because some stranger in line talked us into it haha ...you better believe it's coming back with us in August!

It's the best deal ever! I'm totally milking this bucket...just like I'm milking our annual passes. It's following me on every trip from now on!

This is hilarious! It's like they just moved a livingroom movie night outside...

I know! I was like, this is it?!? Haha. :rotfl:

A twist with May 4th not being the best day ever.....very Empire Strikes Back trip report! :darth:

Hahaha...but Empire is the best SW film! You'll have to wait and see...:rolleyes1

I love that Beef Teriyaki Udon! The last time my husband had the currywurst, it wasn't cut up. Definitely easier to eat that way.

Both items are sooo good and I've had them multiple times over the past 2 years!

I love newbies on Soarin'. In January, there was a young couple near us in line and it was their first time riding. I requested the front row center for all of us so they could get the full appreciation of the ride. They were so cute and excited.

How cute! It's gonna be so much fun riding with my newbie family in August!

Smart move getting the popcorn bucket! You'll be refilling that regularly on your family trip.

Oh totally! I refilled it every day on our trips (a few times a day too!) popcorn::

Your Star Wars shirts are really cute.

Thank you!!

Your Star Wars Fireworks and Boardwalk at night photos are great!

Thanks! It was a lovely night and we lucked out with a great view!

That's what I love about staying at one of the BW area resorts it's so easy to stop by FW or HS anytime. Looks like you both got some tasty treats from the food booths.

It's the best...I'm gonna have to switch my resort loyalties from the Poly to one of the Epcot resorts!! The BW is a good contender though!

Frozen beer looks interesting :drinking1and I do like my beer ice cold

You may enjoy it! The beer was very cold!

I love your SW shirt so funny did you get a lot of comments on it?
Glad you got to end May 4th with the SW fireworks perfect :cloud9:

Thank you! I did get some comments!! As I said, SW fans are the best!!
It was a great day...very close call for Best Day Ever.

Great pics of all of the great F & G food you got to try. The burnt ends do look amazing!

The fireworks looked great as well and you guys had a really good spot. Can't wait to hear about your other great day!

Thank you! It was a really fun day, we've never been for May the 4th before and we had such a good time it may have to be a new favorite time to come...food and wine, Star Wars day...it's awesome! We lucked out with a good spot for fireworks!

Sounds like a pretty darn good day to me...can't wait to hear more if that wasn't the best day ever lol. Also, you made me want popcorn lol. Haha, yeah I know, right? As a SW fan it has to be a Best Day Ever, right? Maybe there was too much pressure to make it a good day...maybe it was a little too warm, but it definitely ranks up there at the top, hahaha.
I think you may need a bigger park bag. Also if you intend on getting express bus pass then you can bring as much stuff as you want. And remember if you shop you can always have stuff shipped back to your resort for free. What's easier is shopping through the app. I scan items and immediately have it sent to my resort. It's so easy (and dangerous!)

I will never go without that express bus transport from now on. Even if I don't use it as much as I'd like to, I'd like to have it just in case, and 30 bucks is a small price to pay for some insurance of not park hopping the regular way.
I love that popcorn bucket! I just wish it was bigger, LOL, then I'd refill it less, haha.

Great Pictures! Cannot wait to read the rest. I am at work overnight and all of the food and drink pictures are making me hungry!!

I love how adventurous you two are when it comes to your food choices! :thumbsup2 You guys choose some seriously interesting stuff to try and to be quite honest, I doubt I would try half of it. :rotfl:

Boardwalk is so pretty at night!!! Esp with the strings of white lights:love:

Your Burnt Ends looks like it had more of the cheese sauce on it than mine maybe? Whatever the case I'm glad you enjoyed it :goodvibes Your little cup of watermelon juice reminds me of my mini Moroccan Sangria from their QS lol! It was like 3 sips for $8!!
You know I don't do SW and while I know the major characters I've never heard of Porkins but your shirt is cracking me up :rotfl2: I would totally wear that just for the saying!

I love the BW at night especially when it's busy. The atmosphere and overall vibe is just so energizing. But it's funny because one night it can be crowded through 11-11:30 and the following night it'll be dead by 9:30, and weekday/weekends don't seem to matter!

Haha, it was all very good, I assure you! But that is the fun part about Epcot festivals in that you can try little bits of things here and there.
Not everything we ate was good as you will see in later posts :)

It is! I love the Epcot resorts so much!!

Haha, maybe it's the cheese? Or the meat? But I thought it was tasty!
Yeah those cups were so tiny. I'd rather they charge 5 bucks and service it in a larger (i.e. double the size) cups.

Hahaha, he's one of the X-wing fighters at the end of the original Star Wars: A New Hope. Unfortunately he goes down with his ship.

There are a lot of funny but totally not PC memes out there. Here's one:

jek_porkins_by_electrikpics-d7zc8x6.jpg

All hail Jek Porkins!

I love the BW at night especially when it's busy. The atmosphere and overall vibe is just so energizing. But it's funny because one night it can be crowded through 11-11:30 and the following night it'll be dead by 9:30, and weekday/weekends don't seem to matter!

Yeah I did notice that too. Think it had to do with weather. He if it was a nice night, I'd drink around the boardwalk too! Unfortunately we were always too tired to partake in Boardwalk libations. I really wanted to go to Abracadabar but never even made it there and it's literally right there.

The stuff from the Japan booth were some of my favorites, I could have done without the ginger on top of the noodles, but I really liked the Ahi Poke. I haven't had enough Poke, nor any in Hawaii, so I didn't know better.

Burnt Ends may not sound so appetizing, but they are! Actually they are the fatty tips of the brisket and tend to get a little more char on them. Once the brisket is cooked, they cut the tips off and either BBQ them again or they're already crispy. It's kind of like the crispy out side with tender fatty inside. If you're a fan or a marble rib eye, or Pork Belly, it's kind of similar.

Sounds like a nice rest of the evening, and I'm glad that you had a nice rest of the day and enjoyed the fireworks!

I always enjoy your reports and had fun catching up this morning. Can't wait for more! By the way, there's also a quiet pool for the Villas with a community hall - ping pong table, DVD rentals and sometimes activities for kids. You'd essentially walk around the clown pool, behind the clown and follow path parallel to path to DHS and it's on your left. I agree can't stand the clown pool between the clown itself and the noise level!

The poke outside of Hawaii is not really quite the same. In NYC, they make it more of a Chipotle style, where you pick your fish, sauces, mix-ins. Etc. To me it's just kinda hit-or-miss that way and doesn't really taste authentic. However if you find the right combo and the fish is fresh, it works as a nice salad, or a healthy lunch. I also think it depends on who is preparing it, so to get the right ratio of sauces to ingredients. i've had some that was too sauced and not sauced enough.
I think there are more places around California that serve poke than NYC, but I'm sure it's not the same as being in Hawaii too. :)
Basically I'm just saying I need to be in Hawaii eating poke right now. :)

I'm a fan of burnt ends now! At least the version I've had at F&G. Ariane and Raeven may beg to differ, LOL.

Thank you so much! Oh I did not know there was another quiet pool behind the clown pool! We did not really figure out the layout of the Boardwalk just yet. But good to know for next time! Thanks for reading!!

At first I didn't understand what you meant by this, as I've only eaten at Chipotle once, but I see what you mean.

These places are springing up all over the place in CA, and I don't mind it as a lunch, albeit very pricey for lunch. Gelson's supermarket has Poke in their fish department, and that I would guess is a little closer to what one might find in Hawaii. Now I'm really craving Poke!

So loving your TR!! That empty airport Magical Express area was heavenly! Hope we get that lucky in July. Really excited to hear about your Best.Day. Ever.!

Revenge of the 5th - Beach Club Buddies

Happy Revenge of the Fifth! I actually think Revenge of the Sixth sounds better than Fifth but most people like the Fifth so we'll just say it's Star Wars Day Part 2. We weren't doing anything Star Wars-related today and weren't even scheduled to go to DHS again, but you never know...:rolleyes1

Today we woke up early as we had an early morning breakfast at Cape May Cafe! Thank goodness it was a short walk away as I don't think I could normally do such early breakfasts if it wasn't at our resort or very close by. When we walked outside it looked like it had been raining for a bit as the ground was wet. Thank goodness we missed the rain! We also realized it was much cooler than it was on previous days and the morning required a light sweater. I actually really love this sort of weather. Cool mornings and evenings, warm afternoons :cloud9:

Walking to the Beach Club:

We walked inside, checked in and got a buzzer thing. I have not been to the Beach Club that often so I wandered around the lobby taking in the sights.

It had a less Victorian-era feel than the Boardwalk, and was more...Colonial Bermuda-ish? LOL I barely sat down when our buzzer thing went off. I don't even know why they handed out buzzers when it was that early and it's not like a ton of people were in the restaurant. It was probably like 50% full at that time.

Goofy!!

We sat down and our sweet server asked us what we wanted to drink and we said coffee and OJ. She asked if it was our first time here and we said yes! She said we were in for a treat as the food is really good. But she wouldn't say otherwise, right? :cutie:

As she went to get our drinks, she told us to go ahead and help ourselves to the buffet, so that's what we did!

We got some visitors! They were decked out in their vacation finest.

There were only 3 characters: Goofy, Donald and Minnie. I'm not sure if there are usually more but it seems like maybe cos it wasn't too crowded they don't have too many characters wandering around. Overall we really enjoyed breakfast. It wasn't too crowded (our ADR was at 8:15am). I can see why Cape May Cafe has such a following. I hope we get to try dinner one year, although I prefer breakfast buffets just because there's usually more foods at breakfasts that I enjoy eating. But really, I come for the unlimited Mickey waffles.

After we were done with breakfast, we walked over to Epcot...soooo convenient from the Beach Club! Depending on where you stay at the Beach Club, you can literally be a hop skip and jump away from Epcot. Well, not really, but you are definitely very close!

Coming up...more Epcot F and G, Disney Springs, Homecoming, and we meet more galactic pals!!
