If I don't currently have an AP but plan to upgrade my 7-day hopper when I arrive, can I get the AP discount on a resort reservation now?

You'd think after all these years of going to WDW and having had an AP many times.. I should know this! haha!!!

Yes, you can book a room with the AP discount. You would have to call to make the reservation, though, because you won't have access to the AP discounts on the website until after you get your AP.

Yes. You may have to show the AP after you exchange the PH, though, to ensure any discount. Although with technology showing the AP in MDE, it may be fine without having to do that anymore.

We did the same thing last year. We stayed at WL and they upgraded our park hopper tickets to AP at the front desk when we checked in. We used to have to go to the guest relations at a park entrance so that saved a lot of time.

THAT is great news! I didn't know that you were able to do that so we have always gone to Guest services at the theme park entrance.

After you upgrade your park hopper tickets to AP at the resort front desk, at some point (even next day) don't you still have to go to Guest Relations at a theme park or Disney Springs to activate the AP? Or have they recently started activating APs at the resort front desk?
