2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

ASRRRRRGGGHHH.... I'm hearing hold music while the cm is talking to someone else for help. He came back online to ask me what it was I am trying to book again as he totally forgot. Where do they get these people from? I'm looking forward to my survey at the end of the call.

He said his supervisor tried and got the same result of no availability. Now I'm on hold while he is trying to get support to have them look. It's been 37 minutes since I've been talking to this guy so I suppose NOW it is possible that it really is sold out.... but 37 minutes ago I don't believe it.

I am pleasantly surprised if they don't hang up on me after I have been on hold for an hour at this point. I have had that happen before. I have also had a CM INSIST I could not book an event and it was sold out when it was not. \

Just tried for Trader Sam's om 9/27 and she said no availability.

While I listen to It's A Small World in various styles, does anyone know what the cancellation policy is for beverage seminars and F&W special events? I swear I have looked everywhere on the website and haven't found anything. I guess I assume that means they are nonrefundable, but I thought maybe someone here might know. I was planning to ask while I has someone on the line, but who knows when that will happen!

Pam always does a fine job at F&W. Her job is to keep the deminars moving and she is very good at what she does.

You're not alone in thinking that-DH is a fan, also. He's been in lots of meetings and feels she moves things along well. I just get a kick out of her after she's been sipping all day.

Husband is on hold with DVC while I try to work with the dining dept. All the CM did was transfer me to a person in the "escalation" department. She says it shows as unavailable. I've asked her to check to make sure it was actually available at some point to book today, that they didn't forget to open it up. Now I'm on hold again. Still looking for anyone who was able to book Robert Irvine for Oct 22nd???

Omg. It was 45 minutes to the second when I finally got through. Exactly the estimate I was given.

Once through it was easy breezy. Got everything I wanted.

Rain here stopped. Off to enjoy my last day in Mexico. Disney next stop.

Good luck everyone.

Ps - did not need my pass number. And I just have an annual pass voucher that we will activate in October. No issues at all.

What's Cooking With....question....

I have read two different reviews of this experience trying to decide if I want to try it, but one reviewer said guests were served a separate plated brunch and then samples of the chef's food while the other said they were only served full portions of the food the chef was demoing. Does anyone know if there is any rhyme or reason to this?

No cancellations. It's prepaid and no changes

OMG !!! My husband got through on DVC and got the 4 tickets we needed for Robert Irvine while I was still working with the escalation department for Disney Dining. That CM finally went for help to the technical people as I'd been asking for 45 minutes and came back to say they gave her a tip, they should use my name and AP # to look for availability. WHAT? I gave that to the first CM an hour ago!!! So she COULD have finally booked for me but I was able to tell her forget it, my husband called, got put on hold, and got an excellent DVC CM in the time I was trying to work with Disney Dining. If they tell you something isn't available, make sure you aren't dealing with an idiot who didn't put your AP number and name in the system to start with !!!!!

I KNEW there was no way it had sold out in the first 27 minutes when there were so many people being put on hold and not even getting through. I wasn't positive by the time it was more than an hour since booking began and I still wasn't able to book. The escalation dept CM said she'd "put in a report" about the issue I had but who knows if she will or not. In summary, I ran into the first CM who had no clue, that person's supervisor who had no clue, AND the escalation dept lady who had no clue. The only one who DID have a clue was the person in IT who gave them the tip finally that they needed to use my name and AP number in the system to find the available tickets for Robert Irvine. And by then my husband had gotten through to DVC and was in the process of booking our tickets.

If they tell you no availability, don't believe them until you KNOW they have processed everything perfectly and they can SEE that all the seats are taken. I know better so that is why I didn't give up when the first CM told me there were no seats available.

What date? I see DFB has Fri Sep 15 & 29, Oct 6 & 27 down as 9:15AM start...

ETA: I see Fri Oct 20, Nov 3 & 10 listed by DFB as 9:45 start...

I was lucky enough to get what I was looking for but to those who didn't, remember they don't release all seats for pre-booking. In other words, try again on Thursday when more seats will open and hopefully online booking will be active.

9:45 am to 11:15 am for What's Cooking With on Sunday Oct 22. Of course, I don't know that I believe the first CM I talked to though but that is the time he gave me.

You receive a plated breakfast delivered to you at your table and sample sizes of the items the chef prepares near the end of each of his demos. They used to have a good buffet breakfast, but no longer. I've had issues with the plated breakfast not being very warm.

I am there during Robert Irvine's "What's Cooking With......." and have experienced his events before. I do really enjoy him but sure wish he was doing one or two of the regular deminars as I feel the "What's Cooking With" is overpriced for what you get. Plus the dates and times are when I really want to do other things I have scheduled at WDW, including the Cali Grill brunch.

I'm attended 3 of these last year. At each one got the same plated "brunch" dish at opening and then whatever the guest chef was preparing.

Sat down last night and went over the schedules, and carefully picked out what we wanted to try to book. This morning I was able to reserve everything we decided on, but now I'm having a tiny bit of FOMO looking at what everyone else is booking.

Just repeating to myself...It's ok...it's ok...we can't do everything...we still have plenty of stuff to do...don't forget the kiosks....
It is ok. I had this last year when I tried both early booking and regular day and still couldn't get into Behind the Scenes at Trader Sam's. I told myself that I would book it this year but it is only in September and I am going in October. Maybe next year!

I also went for round 2, but this time went through DVC. Was on hold for 40 minutes (again) but the absolutely fabulous CM was able to get my Mediterranean Lunch (Oct. 25) which the other CM could not "find". Good luck to others today and Thursday!
