What did Teresa Say?

If you are someone who stays at AllStars just remember that Teresa has zero clue about your financial situation so dont let it bother u.

And btw before I wake up and get swamped with comments...I simply adore the whole team( including)Teresa.

I also found the remark unnecessary and offensive. I am staying at the ASMu suite this coming winter (for the first time ever, have always stayed deluxe suites, money is NOT the issue) and I am spending over $7000 for our trip. But I guess I'm one of "those people" who have "no money". I just found it very "those poor people aren't worth my time". This wasn't "witty banter", it was an insult. And, I do have quite a good sense of humor, IMHO, but referring to awhole group of people who choose to be smart with their finances and stay somewhere that by any other standards would not be considered a cheap place to stay, as "poor", is in "poor" taste.

You do realize what Teresa was saying the people at the values don't have money for, right? It's a joke. A funny one. No one is making fun of people who can't afford to stay at moderates or deluxe resorts.
Anyone getting offended by her comment is either looking for something to get offended by or is ashamed that they can't afford to stay at one of the better resorts (which they shouldn't be, of course) and is taking it out on Teresa for making a joke.

She's a class act (as is Pete), but I still can't believe she felt the need to apologize for that off-the-cuff quip.

From the very beginning I was shocked people thought she even joked that All Stars were poor. They were legit joking about sex work so maybe Teresa was just saying she's expensive haha. I mean she also said they are saving their money so I didn't see it as a big deal.

I ejoy the dis unplugged. It not only has been a wonderful informative program for all my Disney planning it is also very entertaining. These are nice regular people with honest comfortable chatter going on in a friendly round table setting. At times personal opionions are discussed which is why to me makes it so real. These are opinions with at times llittle jokes and innuendos. This is not hollywood and they are not trying to be perfect or politically correct for the audience. Just real honest. For those who feel personally insulted or targeted I believe that person needs to not watch or listen. People are to hyper sensitive these days and should get a tough upper lip! Enjoy discussion. Enjoy ones opinion even when not your own. Learn to relax and take a little fun humor and not be so uptight. They laugh at themselves at each other like a family and with respect. I also believe no apologies were needed but that is our new world making everyone happy. To the Dis....stay true to being yourself. Its a wonderful show with great hosts. Thank you.

The problem is that if you (as i've said before) bravely make the choice to put yourself out there publicly you honestly have to censor every darn word out of your mouth. Every move. Every look. Measure every word. Because someone, somewhere is just waiting to pounce on you because of the way you dress, do your makeup, pronounce words, or the things you say, or even right down to the show format.

Forget big brother watching. "Little sister" is watching...and she cannot wait to run to Mommy and Daddy and tattle on you for what you just said or did.

Keep being your awesome, hilarious, lovely self, Theresa (and the rest of the team)!

"Oh No those people don't have money, um they're saving their money for something else, well you know never whatever. I've been thinking about this too Kathy and I think, people, a lot of my clients are just fishing and wanting information about when this new stuff is coming and they are saving their money and waiting it out......."

I really took it as the people who stay at All Stars don't waste money on things like "women of the night" as part of the joke

I could see myself (someone who grew up VERY poor) as saying something like "They don't have money for..." or "We don't have money for..." and NOT mean that the people are poor or lower class. I might mean they are frugal. Or at the worst, that they aren't millionaires so they have to think about how they allocate money (like most of us do, like I do, like Teresa does).

I guess I just never have had the impression that any member of the podcast was born with silver spoon in his/her mouth. I also don't get the impression that the ones who are the employees are "rolling in it."

You beat me to it Llama. The issue had nothing to do with who stays at All Stars; The problem came from the image of the people who stay at deluxe resorts. Since that podcast, concierge phones on the monorail loop keep getting strange requests at all hours of the night.

People are upset because a woman categorized people staying at a hotel as saving money instead of spending it on hookers? She didn't say they aren't worth her time as a travel agent or friend. It was specifically in the context of sex work. This is where we're at now, that it's insulting to indicate you don't spend money on prostitutes? I just don't see how it's insulting, and there's been times I stay off-site specifically because the value resorts are too expensive for me.

I think we all know that if any resort guests are gonna pay for hookers, it's the ones who stay at Grand Floridian.

They stay at the stuffy, buttoned-up place to hide the fact that they are, in fact, straight-up freaks.
So the "Mr. Paddington Frog" I see on the guest list at GF is, in fact, Duffy? And he is consorting with the likes of Kitty White, or somebody of that ilk while there?!!!!!! I'm AGHAST!!!
