Disney Gift Card Deals

I received an email from Bed Bath & Beyond inviting me to join their membership program for $29 per year. The program is supposed to give you 20% off your entire purchase both in-store and online, plus free shipping. This is the first I've heard of this program. Does anyone have any experience with it? I read through the terms & conditions and they list a lot of brand exclusions plus alcohol, baby wipes, diapers, formula, portrait studio, etc., but I didn't see anything that excludes gift cards. Just wondering if it might be worth the $29 fee to give it a try buying Disney gift cards. I could see an exclusion being added really quickly if people start buying thousands of dollars worth.

Don't they always offer the 20% coupon in the weekend newspapers? Seems I get them all the time or on a postcard quite frequently and BB offers 20% off on GC so I really can't see spending $29.

Currently I plan to order from BJS so hopefully it shouldn't be a problem, but I just want trying to save money turn in to a nightmare! I've upgraded our package which is going to cost us around $700 so I'm trying to recoup this the best I can.
I have ordered $9300.00 worth of $100 gift cards from BJ's since mid-September. I've ordered in lots - first 10, came regular post, second 10 same. Then ordered 15, came UPS took twice as long. Then ordered 20, came UPS (long), second 20 same. So, I have deduced that any order over 10 (but under $1000) comes regular post and a lot faster. I ordered my last 2 shipments of 10 and 8 one right after the other to make sure they are sent post. Have had no problems with this, and when they arrive I just go to Disneygiftcard.com and consolidate them. Only $1000 can be on one card at a time, so I load one up, then switch over to my DW account and make a $1000 payment, then go back and do it again. I also bought my xmas party an La Nouba tickets this way. Hope this helps!

The only difference I can tell is the regular 20% coupon lists gift cards as an exclusion and the membership does not. Otherwise I agree, there isn’t any point in paying if the discounts are the same.

It's my first year with Discover and having the It card, and I plan to utilize this quarter's bonus toward gift cards at Target as well. I'm holding out a little longer in hopes that Target will run their 10% off Target gift cards deal in December. They've done it for the past few years or so, and this would make it ~20% discount for new Discover users and ~15% discount for continuing users.
This is my plan as well. I signed up for the card in August so it'll be a really nice discount.

Do you remember exactly when they run it? We leave the second week of December so I definitely can't use it for the trip cost but we always buy extra Disney gc to pay for food and souvenirs. It would be nice to get an extra discount on that!
This is off the top of my head but I think I'm accurate:
2014 - Nov 28 (Black Friday)
2015 - Dec 20 (I am 100% sure of this, it is my birthday and the day I started churning)
2016 - Dec 4

So it jumps around. Just have to wait and see. They to advertise it pretty well in advance so you should have an idea before your trip.

This was all very helpful, thanks!

Does ebates still give CB for Gift cards at BJs? I ordered some a few months ago, and got the CB, but haven't ordered any since.

Website says:
Cash Back Terms

Exclusions: Cash back is not available on gift certificates, gift cards (BJs & third party gift cards), membership, travel orders and PICK UP & Pay.

It may be targeted. Is your app up to date?

Does Fetch credit for GC purchases at Target? I've had a few receipts that credit 0 points because I didn't buy any "qualifying" products on the receipt.

Just submitted my Best Buy receipt that had only a SW gift card on it, got 100pts scan bonus for it. Since bonuses are random I was happy with that amount, I figured anything was better than nothing :) (and will kinda make up for Shopkick being 1to1 still :crazy2:)

Heads up for any new Discover It card users: Target is 5% cashback this quarter (Oct 1 - Dec 31) and if you're a new user then you're also getting double cashback making it a 10% savings. The terms state that online purchases qualify as well. I don't see anything that excludes gift cards. It's up to $1500 in purchases. I thought Target.com had $500 gcs but I couldn't find them today. The highest I found was $100. That's still faster than entering the $50 ones. Hope this info helps someone!

I so wanted to apply for the Discover card but I am at 5/24 and am holding out for a CSR...

You have to pay with the REDcard. Only the amount charged to the REDcard gets 5% off.

If you go to the customer service desk and show them your RedCard you can pay with any other credit/debit card and they’ll honor the 5%. Some employees don’t know about that policy so you might have to get a manager. Anytime you call the RedCard phone number for card issues they’ll mention that as an option if your card isn’t working (if hit the daily limit, etc.)

A sort of O/T question: I have right now $700 in gift cards (all $50s). Can I take them all to the ticket window at Disney to buy an annual pass? Basically, do I have to consolidate them first or it doesn't matter since the CM will have a computer to swipe all the cards? Thanks in advance.

$700 in $50 Disney GCs? You don't have to consolidate all those cards for a ticket window CM. Back before disneygiftcard .com allowed us to transfer balances, we'd have a stack of over a thousand dollars in $50s and $100s that we brought to the Disneyland ticket window to buy our APs. I know a lot of people would read off their stack of cards on the phone to the CM applying each card to the balance of their reservation. Yes, the CM will have to swipe each one and reduce your total card by card. It can take a long time. We combine our cards as we go out of courtesy and ultimately to save time.

Thank you for this reply. Actually, thinking about it, one of my cards is a $200 and another is a $100 so it's not really THAT many cards. I'll probably just take the stack to the window and buy my passes.

This is great info! I had no idea. Do they just credit that card back the 5% or cash back or how does it work exactly? I'd like to find that policy in writing in case I have any push back. I just bought a $100 gc with my Discover It and would love to get an additional 5% back.
