I love credit cards so much!

I took advantage of the latest SW 3-day sale and knocked another 4K RR off of a RT to MCO in January. I modified my reservation in about 2 minutes and got the total down to 9500 RR for both me and DH with the companion pass. Flying SW has its negatives, but they're so user friendly and RR can go a loooong way.

I need to nail down our dates for our January trip during this sale! Better go double check with DH on the dates.

If I cancel my British Airways cc, I still keep my points, right?

I was really surprised how much lower I could get my total because it was already so reasonable to begin with. Throw in the companion pass and it's even sweeter!
That's awesome! I think I can get our April trip to Socal for about 9900, I'm so excited that I can stretch the CP and the RR points even further! Yesterday I made a list of possible weekend trips, plus Socal and WDW that we know are happening for sure. Then I estimated RR cost for the flights. I still had about 20k points left even after estimating on the high side for all of them :)

Though I just jumped on the site and remembered, DEN-MCO is coming up as a sale fare here so they aren't any different than before...

Just was able to save points on our upcoming Christmas trip to Punta Cana and get an earlier nonstop flight! Love the flexibility of SW!

Oh my! Competition is always good, but I wonder how low Southwest can really drive prices long term. There should be some really great low fares when SW first launches to introduce passengers to their service. I remember when Virgin America first started flying to Hawaii, and prices were as low as $169-199 one-way from LAX and SFO to Hawaii; other carriers moved to match. Hawaiian Airlines still runs sales for roundtrip fares at $400 for midweek and low season travel. We'll see. But this potentially ups the value of the companion pass (unless SW decides to exclude the Hawaii market). I'm not usually a Southwest flyer, but I'm thinking now that maybe I should look into it.

I've already got it in my plans to try to get dh the CP for 2019/2020 and our Hawaii plans are for 2019 so this could all fit together nicely :D

Once your Avios have shown up in your BA account, then you will retain them even without the BA cc.

ETA: Like other loyalty programs, there needs to be activity to keep the points from expiring. For Avios it's every 36 months.

I got the Disney Premier Visa with the $200 gift card offer. It's been over 8 weeks and I haven't received my gift card so I called today (gearing up for a big phone fight) and explained very briefly that I haven't received my gift card and the person on the other end says in the perkiest voice "ok, I've escalated this to our marketing team, you'll get a letter from them in 7-10 business days". I hang up, the call took less than 3 mins. Really glad I didn't have to start some sort of fight on the phone and much prefer this stay at a distance thing but... I thought I'd have a first step towards resolution today or at least know whether or not I needed to bring this to CFPB. Now I'll "get a letter" a week before my trip, why do I feel like that letter won't include my gift card? (I hope this feeling is wrong!). Anyways, this is the process if your gift card falls through the cracks like mine did. It's not fast is the only conclusion I have at this point.

Nice! This will be my second MCO trip since getting the 2 cards and the CP, and we just came back from a trip across the country to CA. I still have 80K RR!

Got it- I think I'm good for another 3 years- I can buy through their portal to reset the clock, right?

Ok...I'm so sorry that I'm asking again..... but I lost my question/replies in here quite a while ago...and I need to double check my info..... Sapphire reserve questions re: Travel credit.
1) Dh got card Dec 2016- his statment date is Dec 17,'17. SO that means his reset date for the TC is Dec 18 (correct, right?) That means he will get the AF on his Dec statement, and it will be due by Jan 14 (right?) In the meanwhile,we have a travel plan that includes picking up a car rental on Dec.9,and returning it on Dec 17. Since it takes transactions a day or so to post to acct, I should be safe using DH's CSR for this charge, right? Then I can apply the NEW years TC to this rental.(it's literally almost exactly $300) ADVICE? do you think this is a valid timeline?
2) We intend to PC his CSR anyway- but if the above works, we will wait till after that. What should we PC to? a sapphire or a FrU? (he has 2 FR already due to PC'ing,so thinking the 'new' one is a good plan) And I can still transfer his FR points into MY acct with the premium cards (right?)
3)Then my CSR stment close date is 12/9,so reset is 12/10 for NEW TC. I was going to use mine for other misc. travel expenses both on Dec 19,and in April. (this should work, right?)
4)Now I need to decide on my CSP- Af will come due in Feb '18- should I keep or PC to another FR(or FrU?) I think it's more valuable to keep CSR for at least another year for me- my only concern would be being eligible for the CSP again if I decide I prefer that one- (I highly value my UR,and using those) The CSP is at least 5 years old so I think it would work to do this for at least the next year (right?)
I've done a ton of reading on the CSR TC and I believe this all fits together..... thank you for any replies on this!

Hmmm... Going to book my MCO flights for January. 15k RT... Maybe they'll still go down, last month ended up being 13k RT.

@gottalovepluto I would like to unlike your post, or give it the crying face like you can on facebook...

So for Chase AU signup bonuses... some people just use pets names, etc right? How do you decide what birthday, etc to put in?
