Sheraton Vistana Villages - Your reviews, tips & ratings

Is there an official list of what is stocked in the kitchen (how many pans, skillets, wine opener, etc.)>

Also, is there a fee to enjoy a pool cabana?

I don't think there is a published list - if you called or emailed the resort, they may be able to send you something.

There is no fee to use a cabana - first come, first serve. They are set up with a table and chairs inside rather than loungers though.

Has anyone ever utilized the pre-stock grocery service at SVV or do you just go to Publix?

The prestock prices are fairly high; the groceries come from the market onsite. With Publix a block away, I would just go there and save a few $$. The onsite store is great for a quick forgotten item, but I wouldn't get a whole weeks worth of supplies there.

I'm thinking about requesting Bldg 23 so that we don't have a far walk to either main pool, market, restaurant, etc. Do you think that i a good choice?

I have to say, that I'm contemplating changing our last 2 nights currently booked at SVV to 2 nights at the Dolphin. We just love being onsite and in particular, the BW area. We wouldn't do parks during those 2 days, just relax at Dolphin and Boardwalk and go to DS one evening. Tell me, is it worth the extra $$ for 2 days at the Dolphin? Or should be just stay put and enjoy our last 2 days at SVV as much as possible? I'm torn; probably just the uncertainty of not knowing how we are going to like SVV having never stayed here.

My cons in doing this are: $400 (total) increase in staying at Dolphin 2 nights plus parking fees (as opposed to cost of 2 nights at SVV); the hassle of packing up and moving; going from a 2 bdrm villa to a 1 bdrm hotel room - 2 adults and 2 adult children.

My pros are: It is WDW! We love the Dolphin / Boardwalk area. We can relax at hotel and walk over to BW and take a bus to DS instead of having to drive.

Your thoughts and tips??

Are all the coffee pots the same? I was going to go ahead and buy coffee and filters if necessary prior to the trip since we will arrive late at night. Gotta have my coffee first thing the next morning! :coffee:

Towels are provided at each pool. The resort uses a towel card system for obtaining and returning towels-you will receive those cards upon check-in!
We want to go to the beach one day. Can we pick up towels from the pool and return them later that day for new towels to use at the pool? I'm trying not to overpack and towels take up a lot of room!

I am not sure if these are the same in all the rooms - the one in our room in Sept was pretty basic. You can get fresh coffee at the Marketplace if you are up for an early morning stroll.

Not sure how this would work out - in our experience they were pretty stingy with handing out the towels, for some reason. You could just take the ones from your room.

Thanks. I don't know why I didn't think of that! LOL And we have a washer and dryer to clean them once we are back. Perfect.

Thank you. I went ahead and packed a half bag of coffee and a hand full of filters just in case.

What did you end up doing? For me its hard going from a 1 bed room room to a standard room...

Since this was your first stay, how did you like it?

We ended up getting (I think) Bldg 25 which is the same building as the market. It was very nice! Our room was on the second or third floor (gosh I can't remember right now) overlooking the pool. I made breakfast every morning and we sat in the screened in balcony enjoying the view. It was a nice location, and I'm glad they put us there. It was nice to pop down to the market and to the workout facility. For some reason, my son's blood sugar numbers were high on this trip (he has Type 1 Diabetes), so he and hubby had just a short walk to the work-out facility to work out and get his number lower. We did go to the Dolphin for 2 nights and crammed into the (1) 2- full sized bed room with a rollaway. Boy was that an adjustment after having a gorgeous 2 bedroom villa with 2 full baths!! I mean it was nice to be right there onsite at Disney, but we didn't get much rest. The ONLY complaint we had about Vistana Villages is having to get in our car and drive everywhere. We are used to being onsite and letting Disney get us everywhere. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Anyone know of any sites that have special offers for SVV? Mousesavers used to but it looks like they are not listed with them anymore.

It is often available on SkyAuction. Just be certain to read the terms carefully. SA generally has a base price listed with additional fees depending on the dates requested, but the price is generally always a great bargain.

As a (now) Marriott Bonvoy member, I get offers several times a year in the mail or email for $200-$600/week at SVV. The membership does not cost anything.

Hmm, I've never received these offers. Have you asked for specific offers to be emailed to you?

Also, does anyone follow Mousesavers? I could have sworn that Mousesavers used to occasionally offer discounts for SVV (and SVR). But, I haven't seen any in a long time, and I couldn't find any reference to the Vistanas on their website. Does anyone know if Vistana offers discounts through Mousesavers any more? Thanks.

Yes, I signed up many years ago under the SPG membership for all emails. I can post here when I get another one?

I otherwise, don't see many offers for SVV/SVR ie: Mousesavers

Going to be Staying at the Vistana Villas on Int'l drive the last week of march. It's our first time there. Going with our 3 kids 7, 10, and 13. Is there a certain building we should request that's closer to amenities? Will they even accommodate that?

Not even sure what we are doing. Might do Universal or Disney. We were just there recently. Any other suggestions or tips on the resort are appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
Paul
