Swan & Dolphin Weddings FAQ

My future wife and I are getting married at the Swan and Dolphin in January....much cheaper than the Disney Wedding packages. We are also adding a fireworks cruiser and made reservations at il Mulino.

Are you having one of the pontoon boats or are you having the Grand 1 for the fireworks

Hey @dsydreamer @ALegrande and everyone else!

I just wanted to mention that we just got our preview pictures back from our Swan Wedding on 12.2.17. We had a West Courtyard ceremony with Cocktail Hour and Dinner/Dancing (we got an awesome DJ) at Crescent Terrace. I thought I'd share some pictures with everyone since this doesn't seem to be a common thing. In fact, we got the impression we were unique in having our wedding this way, so I'm sure those I tagged and others are getting the same impression. I had a really hard time finding any inspiration photos because of the uniqueness of how we did things, so I thought I would share a few of our pictures so that y'all can get a better idea of how things look out at Crescent Terrace at night!

Our photographer was Jesse Sharpe of Jesse Giles photography. I would highly recommend her for those brides conscious about how they look. I was having some SERIOUS, and I mean SERIOUS, bloating in my upper arms on the wedding day and Jessica and her second shooter posed us in such a way that it I look at least somewhat normal, haha!

Anyway, I may start a TR for our wedding so future Swan and Dolphin brides can get a better idea of everything. As I mentioned, I had a difficult time planning our wedding because of the lack of information and example weddings available for me to look at (in the style we were having ours, at least), so I wanted to help in any way I could.

Our wedding was absolutely perfect- from the weather to the guests to the vendors, there is not one thing I would even *tweak* about my day, let alone change (other than how bloated I was!). I highly recommend Swan and Dolphin weddings and I am so happy we didn't go with Disney. I will talk more about this if I decide on a TR, but feel free to leave questions if you have any.

Happy planning everyone! Here are some pictures from our day:

Hey @dsydreamer @ALegrande and everyone else!

Thank you so much for thinking of me!!

I completely agree- I feel like we’ve been so unique with how we’ve planned everything, I’ve never heard of anyone planning a combination like ours. When I started planning, I could find ONE photo of Crescent Terrace decorated for an event at night. Thankfully that one picture was enough to sway me lol but that was literally all I could find! I’m so surprised at how little the space is used for nighttime receptions.

So you had your dinner and traditional first dances, cake cutting, etc at CT? How many people did you have? Do you feel that the space worked well for the dinner portion? Did you do any dancing or other events there?

LOVE your ceremony in the West Courtyard space! That is a really cool space- I’m honestly kind of bummed we’re not using it in any way haha I almost wish now that our cocktail hour could be in that space!

Thanks again so much for sharing! You looked truly stunning! <3

Such beautiful pictures!!
I was a December Swan bride as well. I had my ceremony at Crescent Terrace & cocktail hour in the same courtyard as you, but I had no idea you could have your reception at Crescent Terrace! Thanks for sharing :)

Hey @ALegrande ! and thanks @aristocatz! <3

So, I also used exactly one "inspiration photo" for our Crescent Terrace reception. DIS won't let me upload it due to size, but I'm sure it's the same one you used. It swayed me too, lol!

We had 20 guests, so (plus several infants, and my husband and I) there were around 25 of us at the reception plus staff members. We, very luckily, had some very dance-y guests, so our dance floor was occupied all night. The Crescent Terrace space was perfectly full during our reception with this many guests.

Even though we had a very "small" wedding, we had a normal flow of events and everything worked well. We did introductions, first dance, toasts, parent dances and cake cutting all surrounding dinner.

I have had several positive responses to these pictures so I may share a TR for everyone. Hopefully this will help everyone planning this type of wedding to be more informed!

Let me know if I missed anything! :cloud9:

@myadventurebook I would love to see a TR with everything included! I would love to see more of your photos and it would be cool to see how similar our events are :) I have a PJ going under the Planning Journals page if you ever want to check it out!

Sounds like I have a TR in my future! I will start that soon, probably after the holidays but I might get to it before then- we shall see! I will post here again when I start the TR. I hope it helps some brides out with their planing! I will check yours out too @ALegrande!

Looks nice! There aren't too many pictures of Swan & Dolphin weddings out there. Ours' is scheduled for January 9th. We picked the beach setting, then we're headed to il Mulino's, then two boats out to Epcot to watch the fireworks. We used Just Married to set everything up and utilized the Married by Mail service to get our marriage license ahead of time.

Here are some sneak peak pics we got from our wedding. Everything went very smoothly. More to come....

Hi,
Just got engaged last week and we are planning a swan/dolphin wedding for about 15-20 people. I think I would like crescent terrace. I’m shooting for early December 2019. Does anyone know if there are holiday decorations or lights up in that area for the holidays?

Congratulations on your engagement!!! I got married at the Swan in mid-December, 2011 & we had our ceremony at Crescent Terrace! It was a beautiful location!! There were tons of holiday decorations both inside and outside of the hotels & we got amazing photos, posed with the holiday decorations (the Swan/Dolphin lobbies are gorgeous with Christmas trees during the holidays!). The walkways in that area were so pretty with holiday decor. I do not recall them having Christmas decor already set up at Crescent Terrace though.

Please feel free to ask any more questions & happy wedding planning-you made a great choice with the Swan!! :)

Thank you. I’m sure I will have tons of questions. My vision right now is to have the ceremony at Crescent Terrace around five or 6 PM possibly have another hour for coffee or cocktails and then do a fireworks cruise for illuminations. We are thinking of then doing a brunch at California Grill the next morning. Any tips you would have would be appreciated. Has anyone done the floral not with the package? I wanted to check the prices on some outside floral to see if it was less expensive. Thanks in advance

We used Greenery Productions for our floral & they were very talented and fun to work with :)
We didn't do a fireworks cruise, but we did have an Illuminations Dessert Party in Epcot near France. Our guests still talk about it!

Do you know where I can find pricing info on an illumination dessert party. Rumors is by the time we get married Epcot may have a new show. I’m a little nervous if they are still going to have fireworks cruise or dessert parties etc.
