Breakfast Debarkation Morning

We have early seating so what time would breakfast be in the main dining room debarkation morning?

I've heard that Cabanas is an option for breakfast? What are their hours that morning? Do they serve just a continental breakfast?

6:30, if I remember correctly. We sailed in May and had early dining. On the cruise before that, we had late seating for dinner and had breakfast around 8:00 am.

Don’t think cabanas is open for breakfast the last morning.

Your dining should be 7:00am. Yes cabanas is open and the breakfast selection is not the normal choices when cruising. It’s the same choices that are offered in your designated dining room on your last morning,

You can ask to go to the later breakfast. We had main dinner seating last January on Fantasy, breakfast the last morning was 6:45am. Our flight wasn't until afternoon so we asked our head server if we could come to the later breakfast at 8am. He told us that wasn't a problem but we might not have our same service team (we did).

Never tried Cabana's the last morning.

Maybe I will try asking for second seating breakfast, thanks. If they say no, then try cabanas.

We usually do early walk off and skip breakfast.
But last year we did a B2B and went to Cabanas around 8 to grab some oatmeal and it was a good option. I would do that rather than the MDR it was less hectic.

Yes, definitely ask your Head Server. They will let you know if they can accommodate you or not.

We had an incident with a guest who didn't bother to speak to the Head Server and just decided to show up. It was an early seating and my son decided to go for breakfast. As the assistant server was bringing him his drink, a man came over to the table and told my son he had to leave because he wanted to have breakfast and this was his table. The assistant server immediately told the man that he was second seating and that is breakfast time was after the early seating. The man knew that but he had an early flight and said he needs to eat NOW. He started yelling at the assistant server and the Head Server came over. My son over heard the Head Server inform the man that if he wanted to change, he could have told him and he would be happy to find a place for him. The man continued to scream. My son told us that if the man wasn't so belligerent, he would have offered to let him sit there because the rest of us wasn't coming for breakfast. The server came over to my son and apologized. Apparently, he was complaining the night before that he wouldn't be able to the breakfast and "why does Disney force people to eat at certain times...etc" and our server had suggested to man that he speak with the Head Server. But obviously he didn't and everyone else is suppose to deal with him.

Sorry...just remembered that incident when I saw this thread. I don't think I would have been as calm as my son.

Anyway, as everyone mentioned, it's important to speak with the Head Server. They will do everything they can to help you out. You many not get your serving team and you may be put with other guests, but if there's room, they will definitely assist you.

We were on Dream last week and 1st seating breakfast was at 6:30am (I think) and 2nd seating breakfast was at 8:00am (we were 2nd seating). Cabanas was open 6:30 - 8:30am I believe. We had a noon flight so were asked to be off the ship by 8am, so we went to cabanas at 7:30am before walking off the ship (we had our luggage checked through to the airline). Cabanas was full but we still found a table. We decided we liked cabanas better than main dining and will do that again next time. Everyone found plenty of items to eat. And by that time I am ready for a detox anyway!! So much food all week...

This is SUCH good advice! Worked for the Mouse for years, and it was unreal how many people would complain AFTER they had left but had never asked for assistance during their stay/cruise/etc., which didn't give CM's a chance to help or to make things right. If you have an issue or need, PLEASE talk to a CM about it. They very often CAN help, and if they can't do something very specific you had in mind, they can often offer alternative solutions. Speak up and get help. It works most every time! :cutie:

And DVCDisney, that guest your son saw sounded just awful. It always amazes me when someone makes such a scene as to be abusive or to make all the other guests very stressed. No excuse for that sort of behavior IMHO. My grandma always said, "you catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar". :D

Cabanas is absolutely open for breakfast the last morning, and a full breakfast is available. Not every single item is available as on the other days, but a full American breakfast is available, nonetheless.

Thank you, I appreciate that. Actually, there is a little bit of a backstory with this. On our last dinner, our server asked if we were going to be there for breakfast and when we said perhaps not since it's early and we had a later flight, he said he would like us to go. My son quietly mentioned he wanted to go...mostly because at 15yrs old, he was a bottomless pit...Anyway, our server suggested he should go and that our server would be there to make sure he was okay. My son was unsure about going by himself. But he decided to go and since our server was a wonderful server who was very good with my children, we said it was okay for him and that we would meet him soon after. So when we came down to meet my son, he was walking out with our server. Strange, I thought. He's too busy for that. Our server looked upset. Anyway, he felt horrible and told us briefly what happened. We knew he had nothing to do with it that irate man, so we made sure he knew we weren't upset with him. When my son took a selfie with him, our server seemed less upset.

Another vote for Cabanas. You don't need to ask for a table when it's not your seating, the buffet had more than enough for us to choose from, and it actually felt less stressful and not as rushed as the MD breakfast. Like others have said, it's not the complete buffet that you have on regular mornings, but there is a ton to choose from and you can show up at a time that works for you.

So very sorry to hear that, dvcdisney. Bless your son's heart! That must have been very distressing for him. I'm a grown woman and it certainly would have upset me. Sounds like your server was AWESOME though! :cutie:

My DD22 did the express walk off and I accompanied her to Cabanas at 7:30 am. It was far better than I anticipated and I’d definitely consider that option next time. Lots of choices, it was a little more basic than other mornings but definitely not a continental breakfast. Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Mickey waffles, pancakes, pastries, the usual fruit/muesli/yogurt/cereal station.

Just got off the Fantasy the other weekend. We skip the sit down on debarkation day and while the last minute stuff is packed and the kids are getting dressed, I run up to cabanas at it's opening and get breakfast to go. Brought down a plate of pastries, hash browns, and chocolate milks, and two cereals. Kids put the cereal in their back packs for the road and ate the rest. It allows us to line up before the elevators are packed and the walk off line is long. With a good spot in the line, we are typically off the ship and walking into our door in Orlando just over an hour later.

Never tried Cabana's the last morning.

That would be SO helpful. I'll have to look into that.

We drive in and out of the port in our own car, so we do not have to worry about our schedule, so we skip breakfast on board and head into Cocoa Beach, eat at IHOP (is it still called that?) and then head over to Ron Jons for our yearly t-shirts. There is also an IHOP in Titusville on I-95.

On our 3 night Dream cruise last year, we asked our server about Cabanas for last morning and was told they weren't open and that the dining room was our only option.
Is this unusual?
Would much have preferred Cabanas to the set menu in the main dining room.

Thank you. Yes, he was upset and somewhat shock. I would be too. I've seen a lot of guest behaving badly, but I've never heard of a grown man telling a teen to get off the table. I guess he thought he can bully him into leaving. I guess he wouldn't dare do that if the whole family was there. Although, my son played high school football (linebacker) so he didn't look like he can just pushed him around...but he is very sensitive so I think he may have also felt bad for that guy. I'm just kind tired of making excuses for how some people behave.

And yes, we were fortunate that our server was very caring. He also has children...3 of them and he kept telling my children that they're like his children...very well behaved. I told him that they do have their moments, and he smiled and looked around...so I know what he meant.
