I love credit cards so much!

I have the spend $300/get $60 offer on my SPG Lux. I planned on using my $300 Lux credit for our already booked Swan stay during Spring Break. Is a Marriott GC good for all/any charges at hotels, including restaurants, resort fees, etc?

Also I booked Swan pre merger, with 5th night free on points. Any idea if there’s a way to adjust the reservation and pay 1 night with GC and the rest on points and still get a free night?

It's a Marriott gift card. It lists the Marriott properties on the back. I'm still wondering if it can be used at an SPG property? If you find out anything will you please post?

Judique has a good point about the properties that don't allow use of a Marriott (or RC) gift card. Specifics can be found here. The Swan is a strange case since it was an SPG property before and it looks like all the other pre 8/18 SPG properties are excluded, but the Swan and Dolphin don't fit into any of the brands mentioned on the FAQ. Probably need to call the Swan and ask if they accept the Marriott gift card.

@CyndiLouWho I think you need to have 4 award nights to get the 5th night free. Can you add on another (6th) night to be paid for with the gift card?

Okay. I checked my AU's account and sent her off to buy me lunch and a $300 Disney gift card at Best Buy.

But, I also found another $300/$60 Marriott offer on her AU's card account. I added it and may try another gift card. But, this time I read through the whole thing and it says room charges only and gift cards excluded. Was that always there? Anyone remember? I did the offer on my Lux. This offer is on the SPG personal or as they describe it - the consumer card.

I know it was also on my SPG personal account, but disappeared when I used it on the Lux.

The offer on my Lux says ‘excludes gift cards’

I used the 60 off 300 Marriott offer on my Amex Biz Plat 3 days ago, just buying a Marrriott gift card (no stay) and received the $60 credit. My offer also says 'excludes gift cards' but it still worked anyway.

Couple questions on USO tickets through Chase...

Has anyone here actually bought their USO tickets through the Chase portal? I looked earlier through my CIP and the 1 cpp cash price was higher than the price on Universal's website and I was concerned that you had to choose a date for the tickets. I know you do on Universal too, but I didn't know if I had to use the ticket on THAT date, or if it was just for pricing purposes.

Any issues with using tickets purchased through Chase? I assume email delivery is an option?

If anyone with a CSR is feeling generous this morning, would you mind letting me know the number of URs needed for 2 adults for 2 day PTP tickets?

Yes. I did the same buying with my Lux card. I did not remember the terms and I was checking to see if anything had changed. So, I'll get DD to drop over to the local Marriott and buy me another gift card....

last Chase CC division management meeting:

-they keep using their cards and earning all these points, how do we stop that?

-one way to reduce program costs, get rid of customers. less people to use it, voila, lower expenses. right? guys? what's wrong?

- it's bloody brilliant! although i keep getting a feeling like we missed something...

(i'm not caught all the way up, but with each punch I just can't help but think they have a penny wise, pound foolish approach going with some of the new changes going on. although I suspect the Disney thing may be temporary, but possible not temporary enough for some folks trips :()

I think URs still have a lot of value, particularly for flights and hotels that are cheaper at the 1.5x "cash" rate than booking awards with airline miles or hotel points, even if you can't book Disney. I'm going for a "pentafecta" of Chase UR-earning cards: CSR, CF, CIP, CIC, and CIU (or CFU -- but the CIU has a better signup bonus) to cover the entire portfolio of UR spending bonuses. I agree that for spending categories that offer 3x or 5x UR, I'll try to put it on the corresponding Chase card. Everything lower than 3x, I don't hesitate to throw towards a MSR or even Amex nowadays.
What do you use CIP for vs CIC? I have both but now that the 3X on Plastiq with CIP is dead, I’m not sure I want to keep it. CIC gets me 5X on internet/cable/phone services and I have CSR for 3X on travel. I don’t purchase enough in shipping to make it worth keeping CIP just for that.

I did last year! I remember it was pretty easy. Yeah higher than buying direct from Univ online because you don’t get Univ’s buy direct from us discount but the redemption rate made up for it. Idk about dates, we knew what date we were going and I don’t recall the delivery time frame either.

I’m clueless....can’t find the tickets sorry

Did @amalone1013 end up getting her tickets that way? I know she's down therr now but can't remember on the tickets since she combines so many different things to save

For the past month, the only charges I have on my CIP are eBay seller fees, eBay shipping through PayPal, and my wife’s and my AT&T bills for cell phone insurance.

I looked, and the only USO offering I can find is an adult 1 day 1 park ticket for 11499 URs (CSR portal). Nonrefundable, specific day of travel. Doesn't sound like a great deal, esp when you can buy the same ticket direct on USO website for the same price.

Quick checkin from Ft. Lauderdale as we wait to board our flight to MCO. Direct flight was just too many points for 6 of us. Happy to see no more negative news (yet) from Chase today.

I pulled the Southwest in flight offers. Once you connect to their WiFi, visit their website and there is a rotating banner and it's on one of those. Attaching a screenshot. I grabbed a screenshot of part of terms as well if anyone needs it.

Universal tickets have expiration dates, so you would not have to use the ticket on a specific date (at least for multi-day tickets), but need to get one that doesn't expire before your trip. They have a deal on their website now for 2 day park-to-park plus 2 days free for $282.22, which doesn't help if you are only going 2 days. I'm new to the Chase portal so I don't even know where to look for them.

Does anyone know if Disney tickets purchased through Undercover Tourist count as a travel expense on the Barclay Arrival+? I was also planning to use UR to purchase park tickets and am evaluating backup options.

Were you going through the UR portal for CSR?

@DisneyMandC I found them. Went through CSR UR portal (on the app, I’m on mobile right now) and got all ticket options from PTP 1 day through 5 day tickets! I think the only thing they don’t have now is the 1 day base ticket!
You didn’t mention 2 Park PTP or 3 Park PTP so here’s both & I gave 3 day prices because it’s super cheap to tack on a 3rd day if that’s in the cards and the promo rates could make 4 days for the cost of 2?

2 Park PTP:
-2 day PTP 19,479 for my random day of Oct 5 (cash cost via UR $292.19)
-3 day PTP 20,579 UR ($308.69)

3 Park PTP:
-2 day 23,521 ($352.82)
-3 day 24,551 ($368.27)

They also had “promo” offer but I’m too scared I might accidentally book it if I click “book it” looking for more info...
-2 Park PTP 4 day Promo 19,479
-3 Park PTP 4 day Promo 23,521

I actually booked two nights Marriott Village after Swan, so will use it there. But if I could get back points from Swan stay, it would be better. Doubted I could but worth trying. Lol.

I’m chicken to do this. Not worth it if it doesn’t trigger $300 Lux credit and $60 offer.

San Francisco Centurion Lounge: Departing Passengers Only, No More Than 3 Hours Before Flight -VftW

The SFO Centurion Lounge is now imposing crowd control measures with the following sign:

Due to high traffic in our lounge at this time, we can only welcome Platinum Card Members who are departing and who enter within 3 hours of their boarding pass departure time. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Departures only, and no more than 3 hours before your flight. Does not apply to Centurion cardmembers.

Well, there are two new Priority Pass restaurants in the same Terminal.

Sad news.

Geeze, what if someone has an extended layover?

Well I guess I skipped too many pages. What happened with Chase cards in the past week-ish? Anyone know what page that news was on?
Lots of bad news.
Double dip is dead. Chase canceling cards double dipped since end of August, maybe more.
Booking Disney packages with UR dead. Disney resorts show in portal on CF only, not CSR or CSP right now.

I’m sure I forgot other stuff.
