I love credit cards so much!

Is there a free card I can PC to? And then the Arrival + is churnable?

Idk about the downgrade options for the card. I used all the points I could feasibly use & cancelled it.

@striker1064 covered this well...I'll just add that when my AF came up, I called, talked to the very nice man and he had two offers (I can't remember the second) and I downgraded to the no AF. I've kept this for 6 months but forgot to take it on our last trip to Europe so my plan is to keep it, use it a lot in Europe next summer and fall then cancel and try to get the arrival + in the winter (3 years after original). Hopefully this strategy will work for me since Barlcays is hard to predict approvals but I really like having a true chip and PIN for Europe travels (it actually isn't in my desk [sockdrawer], it stays in my "travel wallet" in the firesafe). :)

I'm mainly saving them for overseas travel at this point. We aren't willing to sit in coach for those long haul 10+ hour flights, and no way can we pay cash for those seats. No overseas trips are planned at the moment - we just got back from one and aren't the type of people to take a big trip like that every year. Our last college tuition payment will be this December, though, so perhaps we could travel more in the future.

I'm jealous of your final tuition bill coming in! DD is senior in hs so those are looming large...MRs are great for overseas travel-we're planning our flights for the ABD next Oct and it's so nice to know I can transfer to BA, Flying Blue or Delta.

so I have what may be a silly question here but when looking at my credit karma page the round circle says I'm utilizing 1% of my credit limit...then shows me an avg. amount(what I assume I spent on a cc in a previous month) along with another much larger number (which is higher than my income)....what exactly does this mean? Is that large nu,ber supposedly my income,or my credit limits in total? And if is my CL total, does that include the cards on which I'm an AU(and can't remove?) and if that's true, then it skews my actual credit utilization? like I appear to have a much larger credit limit than I actually do,(due to being AU?) which is not good for my overall score/new apps b/c it appears I'm already overextended on CL?

I've been waiting on my United Explorer card for a while now. Finally got around to calling last night - it was mailed to me 2 weeks ago. Never got it. They are now re-sending it - another 3 to 5 business days. Glad the MSR on this one isn't that high, or I'd be stressing about missing out on time to make the spend! I've got a couple bills saved up, and it looks like DD will be going on a choir trip to Universal in the spring. My first thought when I saw the cost of the trip? "Oh, well, that's almost half the spend on my new United card - great!"

Pretty sure that you need to do a real direct deposit for Chase. I've been thinking about doing it again (for DH this time) but the hassle of changing direct deposits has been holding me back. I don't think there is a minimum direct deposit, so maybe you could just divert part of your paycheck?

Havaneselover had gotten hers to post with just a Fidelity transfer, which is why I did mine. Ugh. Guess I need to figure out where the heck payroll is...

I am shopping for new iPhones and a new service plan (UGH I’m hating it). I see sprint has a discount for “autopay.” Does anyone know if that can be set to charge my CC or does it have to be a bank account (possible deal breaker)? Anyone try Xfinity mobile or know of any other great deals? Of course I want to pay the bill with a CC but I remember reading that someone chose CIP over CIC but I don’t recall why.....

Whether it has to be CC or bank account would be up to Sprint, but I know that I get a monthly autopay discount for having my AT&T bill drafted from my bank account. However, I just go in every month a couple days before the due date and pay my bill with my credit card. Then the $0 autopay "drafts" and I keep my discount.

I think mine hit mid-day Tuesday. I’d check again at lunch. I’m hoping my savings bonus posts today but it hasn’t so far.

We have tmobile. They do take autopay with a discount and with a CC, I have it set to the CIC. It also includes a netflix subscription. For us, service is not terrible, but not as good as verizon.

I'm starting to get excited/stressed about my upcoming apps for the SW biz and personal cards for the CP 2019/20. My currents stats not including business cards are 4/24(will be 3/24 soon, CSR falls off applied 10/16), 0/12, 0/6/, 0/3. I did lower my credit limits at Chase...had 35K on my old Disney Visa that I never use.
I'd like to get the ball rolling as soon as possible. I guess my biggest question/fear is: do I need to consider the business cards that I opened this year outside of Chase? I got the CIP 3/18, SPG Biz 3/18, and Aviator Biz 8/18.
I have SW flights in Nov and Dec that I could do the inflight offer. I'd like to have the CP by our flights early 3/19.
Any advice?

Wow, that is fantastic! I wonder if that will work with my homeowners insurance? The next auto pay from my bank account is Oct 1st. I think I will call and pay it today with my credit card. And see what happens, lol.

The tiles came in handy this trip..had one in mine and DH luggage and golf bag traveling with my daughter and her husband...no tiles...used Magical Express...they delivered 6 of our 8 bags...

went to the bell hop since on the app it showed the luggage was at The Boardwalk.....they looked on the computer and tell me it’s at the airport....and I have to call SW.....o_O....I’m showing them..it’s within range of my phone so obviously in the storage room...after much back and forth they find the 2 suitcases.

This sounds useful.

The Arrival+ used to be churnable, but who knows if Barclays has changed things since they relaunched the card.

Generally, the way to churn any Barclays cards is this: downgrade at 1 year when AF posts to no-AF option, put some spend on for about 6 months, and cancel the card. Reapply again in 6 months (so you'd be getting the card every 24 months).

There is a no-AF Arrival card. Barclays considers having cards in the same family to be the same product - meaning if you downgrade to the no-AF card, you cannot get another Arrival+. But, assuming the same churning rules still apply, you'd want to hold the no-AF Arrival for 6 months and put some spend on it, then close it, then wait another 6ish months and try to get the Arrival+. That's my plan.

I'll be doing this with the Wyndham soon. The AF is coming up in a few months.
Thanks! Do I lose the points I have currently?

I'm so excited:cool1: finished the mSR on DH's SPG biz (whew) and just got an interesting offer on my pers. SPG..... tell me what you think.... spend 3k/get 10k points by Nov 30????? this sounds awesome.... wouldn't that be a total of 13k points for 3k spend? that sounds like a good return...now my question is if I decide to PC this card to the Luxe(15k/1k offer) would this bonus spend count? I'd have to PC before I finish the spend for the bonus, and I wonder if that 1k spend for the PC to Luxe is counted in the 3k spend for the extra points...... anyone care to help me unravel my thoughts here?:bitelip:

I have Xfinity Mobile and so far it's been excellent. Daughter has it also and so far our bill is really cheap, but I paid for my phone outright. Xfinity mobile is on the VERIZON network. My daughter uses the data - if she had no phone, I'd have no bill as almost all my data is on wifi. She's mostly on wifi and the data is combined so between us it's about 1 gig per month or $12 plus another $2 something in tax. Unlimited gigs is $45 right now. I don't expect this pricing to last once they have enough customers.

I think they chose CIP for the cell phone insurance.

They should stack. I upgraded to the Lux, and then registered for the extra points offer. If you upgrade first, you'd have 16k points vs the 13k since every dollars spent gets 2x on the Lux.

We both have the Ink Business Preferred. I want to take this opportunity to earn some sign up bonuses. DH has the CSR and this INK. I have this INK and just downgraded my CSP to a Freedom and had both SW cards, just closed one. So I have the INK, Freedom and SW Plus currently. We are open to other cc companies as well.
Quoting myself because I have another idea. Our SW CP expires at the end of this year and we got a lot of use out of it. I earned that one by opening two SW cards concurrently. I know October is ideal for starting the process of getting another and DH is eligible. I did it by opening a Plus and Premier at the same time. What is the current advice for getting the SW CP? He can easily and legitimately open business cards.

Amen to that. I really want to love a Disney card :love:and add one long term to my overall strategy. I will wait to see what comes of this. 10% back on Disney cruises might get me on year 1. I remain optimistic. I do believe in fairies, I DO I DO! lol

The one thing that was unclear to me in that survey was the 4% back on restaurants. It doesn't specifically say Disney restaurants. That was interesting. I wonder if they meant to say AT most Disney locations and not "and" most Disney locations.
Heck at this point I just want to love Disney again..... How is it possible to be a fan and yet hate them so much most of the time lately? I'm actually serious....I don't know how to view Disney anymore.

With the death of the death of "it who should not be named", (AKA DD), he'll need to get the SW biz and a personal card. Apply for the Biz first, then the personal card.

You should get 2 points per dollar spent so 16K points. I'm doing the same promo but I already have the Lux so haven't thought out your question. I'd probably try to get the bonus before PC'ing though.
