I had an older sister that used to warn me about the bad clown I have always wondered if she used to tell me the stories just so I wouldn't want to tag along with her and her friends. I grew up about 15 miles north of Boston.

Thanks! So since we don't need the luggage tags we don't need to register out arrival with ME at all? Just schedule the return?
Correct. We only had carryons as well so we just brought our bags onto MDE.

I got a mailer today for the $300 TD Bank checking bonus. Did this one last year and it's once per lifetime so I'm surprised to get a mailer, but I'm guessing it's because we've moved. There's a single DP on DoC of someone getting the bonus a second time with a mailer, 2 years apart. I'm guessing I won't get this one again, but this was very much an easy set-and-forget bonus once the DD hit, so I'm willing to be the DP I want to be.

So I asked over on the HEA Dessert Party thread if the dessert party coded as travel. Someone replied that it did for the CSR so I figured what the heck I will give it a try on my Barclay Arrival + Card. So, I go to book it - and there is nowhere to pick MC - They Have Visa, AMEX, Discover but not MC??? Is this right!!

Working remote today and UPS brought my CIP. I activated it, made my business account online, and already charged about $500 to it :-)

Is it normal for a new account to not show recent pending charges? It says "It looks like this part of our site isn't working right now. Please try again later. Thanks for your patience." I wouldn't normally question it, but my personal account shows everything like normal.

The business card doesn't show pending transactions as quickly, which is odd and infuriating to me - I like to see what's going on!

Yes, my new Chase biz card charges didn't start showing up as they normally do until after the first statement period ended. Weird.

Ok, that makes me feel better. Well, better knowing it will be delayed. I always get paranoid.

I also like that instant gratification! I see the remaining credit is less than my CL so I know the charges I made are truly pending. I guess its something I will just have to deal with in order to get the 80,000 UR haha

Quoting myself. Another thought. So, could I say book a Business Select Fare (Refundable) on my Barclay Card. Then get the Travel Reward and then cancel the flight and have $250 to spend. Would I then be able to buy a Disney Gift Card and use that to book the Dessert Party (it doesn't give me that option online but wondering if I called to book it - would that work??)

Talking about Harry Potter world...a couple years ago I went, thought I knew what I was getting into on FJ...umm not so much. My sister and I have motion sickness problems to begin with, we got off the ride and it was awful. Ended up getting to Jurassic world and having to sit down for a long time until the music and the smoking area near by got to much, made it to another area and sat until we got the room ready text. That is a one and done for us. We went through the queue for Gringotts and exited before the ride. I would be cautious if you are prone to any motion sickness. At least my sister and I can laugh about it now and she forgives me for putting her through it. One of the funniest things about the story is my sister was like are you sure we will be ok with this ride and I'm like I've researched it and we will be fine, yeah about that...

My sweet DH chickened out on doing Rock n' Rollercoaster with my ODD at Hollywood Studios, so he was bound and determined to do it when we were there without the kids. He had to sit down for about 10 minutes after that one (but was very proud of himself for making himself do it). I'm not one to drag people on rides they will hate (it makes it not fun for me if I'm worrying about the person next to me) so I'm pretty sure that the HP rides will be out for him. The tickets I got were 4 days for the price of 2 (and cheaper than 2 day passes) so if I can, I may scoot over there for half a day before my conference starts and do some recon and try to ride Gringotts and FJ (if I can squish in), so at least I won't feel that I've missed out if we give it a pass when we're all there. I really enjoyed the transformers ride and thought it was fun, even though I felt pretty queasy afterwards. Hopefully lines won't be bad because I won't have the EP until we check in to RPR later in the week. Maybe another half day in the park will make me feel better about spending $800 for three of us to spend 1.5 days in the parks at universal. They really nail you on short trips!

You absolutely want P2P. Hogswarts Express is so nice. Make sure you ride it in both directions because it is a different experience. If you happen to purchase an adult beverage, it is the only way to take it from one park to the another.

Yep- heard the advice about p2p being absolutely necessary if you're a HP fan. Did not know about adult beverages, but thats a nice perk. I'm planning several forays back and forth (esp if its the only HP "ride" my LO gets to do). My teen is going to Universal this summer with her choir and they sprung for the package with P2P because her choir director said that they could not miss that ride.

One of the big benefits of collecting miles so far for me has been getting DD's one-way tickets back and forth to England--she goes to school there full time. I typically do British Air since it's easier for her to get to Newcastle, but sometimes she'll take the train to London to do Virgin (which she prefers). You can get coach tickets off-peak VERY cheap (i.e. 12,5000 miles each way) and pay taxes of a couple hundred bucks. It's so much easier to do one-way awards as they can be done at different times and are easier to change. I think of the fees as my insurance policy from buying a RT ticket. The only time we did a RT we ended up eating the return. Never again! I hope your daughter enjoys her semester as much as my daughter is loving her Uni experience. It's been amazing for her so far (1.5 years in). It's incredible to think that she's half done as English universities are only three years. She's planning to get her masters over there though, so I think she'll be gone for 4. I hope to get her back :)

I needed either a return ticket (or really a ticket out of the country) because of the visa requirements. Or at least I assumed it because the visa application required a return date. I guess we could have tried it without it, but I am very wary.

When I first got my card...to see transactions...I had to select “all transactions” ..

You know what my sweet and thoughtful hubby got me for Christmas? A heated seat for my car!! So I plug it into the lighter thing and turn it on. It warms all the way down the back and under the seat :D It's AH-mazing!!!! I know some people have cars with these built in but I don't lol so I'm thrilled with it!
I love mine (built in) but wish I had a heated steering wheel. Mi fingers are always cold...my rear has a bit more insulation.

Mine too, for the past 2 cars! DH thought it wasn't necessary when he was living in SoCal and ordering his car before he moved here-- I told him he would regret it...well guess who steals my car ALL the time and immediately puts on the seat warmers? Yep...he even turns it on for the dog:)
I turn it on for the take out food. Lol. DH never uses his, I use mine as driver or passenger.
