Applied for DW’s CIP#2 yesterday morning using my link, and it’s been approved overnight!

This is DW’s third open Chase biz card; with a CIU approved in 9/18, and a CIC approved in 12/18. CIP#1 was closed in 10/18 after one year when the AF hit. CIP#2 has only a $5k CL, but that’ll work!

Special thanks to @SouthFayetteFan for being my sounding board. I went back and forth between the United Biz 75k miles offer and CIP#2 for a combined 100k UR. The math was too obviously in favor of CIP#2 even with a $95 AF compared with the United Biz’s first year AF waived. While my wife does fly United quite a bit when she travels for work, she’ll get almost no benefit from the United Biz that her company wouldn’t otherwise cover as an expense. So if we’re just going by the SUBs (because let’s be real, Chase has nerfed the heck out of the CIP for any ongoing bonus category spend), the CIP’s 100k UR easily wins out.

YAY!
Awesome!! I’m hoping this loophole exists the end of the month - Dh and I will both be 4/24 so going to go for CIP #2 for one or both of us!

On the AMEX front do you think we’ll
see a decrease in pop ups now?

I spy with my little eye...2 Barclay Aviator cards on my informed delivery email!!! While having a lot of MSR at once requires some additional planning, I like that I'm not cutting it close and forced to put spend on a non bonus card. I hate that feeling (and I know many here do) of waiting on a card in the mail when you have some potential large spend coming up.

Random question - when you're prepaying things to meet your MSR do others just feel tempted to pay it early? I plan to cap off our CIC by prepaying our Comcast bill. I have until mid-May to meet the spend on the card so there's literally no reason to pay it now and yet I truly feel tempted daily to just pay it and be done with it. It DOES NOT really make sense though to do that. What if some unexpected expense comes up, and now instead of still having $1,500 on my CIC to meet the MSR I don't. I'm also planning to hit the spend on these Aviator cards through prepaid utilities, and again I'm tempted to just pay it all today and be done but there's no real reason to do so.

BONVOY!! Hope you don’t get hung up on too much!
Btw did you also get the dining credits back on the AMEX gold?
Ha, I have now been on the phone with them for just under an hour. First person hung up on me after 20 minutes on hold. Called back and the person I spoke with said that I can't use my cert because it's a Cat 1-4 and the hotel is a Cat 5. I explained that last month when I tried to attach the cert (twice) that the hotel was a Cat 4 and I should still be able to use it for that hotel. She agreed and now I've been on hold for another 20 minutes. Hoping she doesn't hang up on me too...

Still haven't gotten the dining credits but I'll definitely be following back up with them!!

Thanks for rubbing it in!! But yes totally it’s like a race to get it done - totally psychological. But I’m trying to go a little slower with DHs BBP since I think amex doesn’t like a quick MSR hit and little spend after

I like to meet MSR as fast as possible on my cards lol. I'm planning on knocking out the vast majority of DH's CIU MSR with a $2000 Disney payment. I'm dying to get this Citi AA biz done once I get my tax refund.

Speaking of tax refunds... anyone else here have to mail theirs? We mailed ours three weeks ago and it's not even showing up on the status checker :( We got our state refunds a week ago. I'm starting to get nervous that it doesn't even show up on the status checker, even though it says around 6 weeks for refunds when mailed. Probably overreacting, I'm just always nervous when it comes to taxes!

Super excited. Ex didn't have spring break plans and I was able to get non-stop tickets from Reagan (a bit of a drive but worth it for non-stop) to Fort Myers for me and the kids for about 55,000 UR points. So much better than driving 900 miles in a minivan with 130,000 miles on it. I did check SW but tickets were crazy expensive ($1800).

Seriously they are the worst!! How can a business have such crappy customer service??!! Nothing angers me more than being hung up on!

Got my JB+ card PC'd to a no AF card with a quick call in today:thumbsup2 purchased my new couch (finally) over the weekend with a great sale at Macy's, used up a credit on a SWA cc I had plus bought a few Macy's GC to apply to the purchase to hit my WoH MSR,since they don't do split payment at Macys(!!! had to call order in to use those but whatever) so I feel like it was a good weekend as far as getting myself together....(so excited over my new couch!) Almost done with the full WoH MSR ahead of schedule..... now to try and plan some travel for the next year.... my family is unwilling to do anything big at the moment,I may need to get a new family! (or find some travel friends)

Just went to transfer my points from my CIC to my CIP because they just posted this morning and noticed I had points showing up on my new CIU. They already cut a statement after 2 weeks. I earned a whopping 284 URs as I haven't had a chance to use it much yet. Only got DH's card this weekend and haven't even activated it yet. What the heck?!

Do your kids like homeschooling? It’s not a very common thing around here for kids to be home schooled unless they are in competitive sports and travel a lot
I don;t know about anyone else but I LOVED our homeschooling years....we had so much freedom to travel and plan our own schedules.... the kids always had tons of activities with other kids both hs'ing and regular schooled.... The kids seemed to enjoy their childhoods, esp. since a trip to Disney every year was part of our curriculum! (back in the days when mine were young and we'd do lots of fun learning in Epcot for weeks before each trip, I want a time machine to go back!!!) Now mine are grown and leading their own productive lives... I want to go back to the relative simplicity of just doing stuff without worrying about schedules.....

Aviator personal is just one purchase and payment of the annual fee, right?

Yay, Gyft is still coding 5X on my CIC! Hope this continues and Chase doesn't take it away.

For Priceline reservations, I can use my Arrival + to erase the charge, correct? I had been saving it for the Spring Break 2020 RCCL cruise I am going to book but it seems the better plan would be our June FL vacation: Clearwater (Bonvoy pts), Disney (Arrival +), Renaissance at SeaWorld (free night cert) and RPH (URs). Then I can use my URs to help pay for the RCCL cruise.

Hey everyone - just had to say - just over a year ago, I had never applied for a business card, and never even thought of doing so, even though I have had a small side hustle for 10 years. Then I found this wonderful forum.....and as of last night I just applied for, and got instant approval for, business card number 10 (in 2P mode). This haul of cards has (or will soon) brought us biz card SUBs worth.....

230k Chase URs
205k Marriott
130k AAdvantage
80k Delta
60k SouthWest
20k Amex MRs

plus the points from the spend on those cards. I know these totals may not hold a candle to some of your totals, but we are very happy, though we probably need to ease up a bit now. :o

None of this would have happened without you wonderful folks on this board. Truly the best, friendliest place in the ether. Thanks one and all. :worship::worship::disrocks:
