I am Universal dumb..

Has anyone booked through Expedia? I bought my flight/hotel through Expedia, my Disney days through Disney, and my park tickets through universal. The Disney stuff is easy but figuring out how to link my universal tickets/reservations and understand what's included is proving really challenging. Does anyone have suggestions?

I’m not sure the linking question for UO you asked

Are you staying at one of the universal hotels?
If you booked through a third party for UO, Expedia should be able to give you that hotel reservation number

If you bought your park tickets at the UO website, did you do the print at home tickets or pick up tickets option ?

I’m glad you started this thread! I’m thinking about a Universal trip for next year, either Feb or April, and have some newbie questions.

1. Can I book more than one room with an APH rate if only one of us has an AP? Or does one person in each room need to have one? We’ll be traveling with either 3 or 4 adults & 2 kids, so we’ll need two rooms.

2. Where’s the best place to buy park tickets? Is there any advantage to booking a hotel & ticket package direct with Universal, or is it better to just buy discounted tickets elsewhere?

UO does have ticket specials at times

I would wait and see what deals they offer when you are a few months out from your trip next year

UT has had decent prices also

If you plan to buy the ap, check if any specials are available

The one presently is a good deal but you’ll have to check the website to see if your tentative dates match up with the deadline for the present sale

I have the preferred ap and book my room when I find a price I can live with for the premier hotels onsite

We haven't booked but doing a lot of research for our Jan 2020 trip pre DCL cruise/WDW trip. The site was very confusing to start.

We looked at Expedia and when you find the hotel on Expedia's site and click on 'policies' near the top it will show all that is included. For Royal Pacific it shows the UEP included and everything else. There is a sticky on the Disbords Universal part that explains the UEP for these hotels. While you need park tickets to get in, the UEP is your hotel room card. So to that effect, my understanding is, you don't need to 'link' anything to an account and it does not matter where you book the actual hotel to get the perks. Being from Canada, Expedia is nice because I can pay in Cdn dollars. I found it funny that it was actually cheaper to book in Cdn through Expedia then through Universal's site and using the banks exchange rate. I am NO expert as I've only spent one day at Universal back in 2011. This is just what I gathered from my endless research and site playing.

I think where people are finding price issues is that when you first pick a package it defaults to Endless summer resort with the max number of ticket days for your length of stay. We are going for 3 nights but only want 2 park days. It defaulted to 3 park days with parkhoppers. I changed it to the 2 days we wanted to get an accurate prrice. From there, If you change hotels (for us anyway) it would add the total package price so in effect it was quoting us the new resort PLUS the 2 day park tickets we added PLUS the 3 day park hoppers it defaulted to. Had to manual remove the second set of tickets. It was funny because the first few times I looked I thought 'well price isn't that bad lets check a another hotel'. After seeing the new price thought 'No F'ing way'. Next day tried again and got the original cheap price and started thinking 'hmmm may be a website glitch...better book now before they catch it!!' After a few tries realized what I had done haha.
