Blended O'HANA: lights, water fountains, and characters OH MY!

Disney Springs-Dancing & Shopping

We made our way over to Disney Springs to get ready for Gia. By the time we got there is very overcast. This helped to cool us down a little cause Lord knows DHS is the hottest park with no shade. It did drizzle on us a little, luckily we had my handy dandy Minnie mini umbrella. I purchased it @ ASMu in 2017 and have gotten lots of use out of it. It was totally worth the $ spent. Michelle is holding it in the picture she posted in her update where she is holding a sleeping JP. We made a bee-line for the restrooms so we could all get changed into our Gia's O'hana shirts. As Michelle said we did not get a picture of all of us in our matchy-matchy shirts.:sad2:

We met up with Jimmy's parents in World of Disney. We looked around a little then decided we were a little hungry. Michelle & Jimmy got the poutine while I opted for something sweet. This was only my second trip to DS since they changed it up and I'm still very lost. I wanted something from Sprinkles. Even though we weren't very far away I ended up taking the very long way to get there. I did come back by the shorter route. Picture one BIG circle. I picked up a salted caramel for me and a red velvet for Michelle.

We shared and they were both really good. I would do this again! Still so many places I would like to try.

After our bellies were full we did a little shopping. I was on a mission to find an Ariel shirt for @ArielSRL. I found the shirt she wanted and made the purchase. We staked out our spot to get ready for Gia. We even made friends while waiting. There has been many times over the years that we have stopped to watch kids perform on the stage but this would be the first time a family member would be performing. We were all very excited and proud. I know Jimmy's parents were really excited that they would be surprising Gia. Michelle has already posted the best pictures of the surprise and of Gia but I'm still going to post a few.

After the dancing was done it was getting late. Gia headed back with her Mom and friends to do some swimming. Poor kid had been trying to swim all week. I don't know why but the pools at POP closed at 7 every night while we were there. Not sure if it had anything to do with the South American tour groups. We had a large crowd of them near us. They weren't too bad except that night when they played in the pouring rain. It was very late and they were very loud. Moving on...... Jimmy's parents had a dinner reservation for 2. I think Michelle and Jimmy did some more shopping. I know I did. It's not a trip to Disney unless I get an ornament. I've gotten them @ Days of Christmas @ DTD, the Christmas shop in Liberty Square and the It's a Wonderful Shop in DHS. But my favorite spot is the store here.

I also enjoy the windows.

And who doesn't love DS @ night.

I think most of our visits have been at night.

There was still time to do more but we were all real tired, so back to POP we went to have an early night. For the second trip in a row no Fantasmic for me. But there is always next trip. We had a good night except for the noise the tour groups made.

Up next Valentine's Day in MK, our last park day.

I remember that! That was so nice of you to do! I would love to help a fellow dis'r out but we usually have no space left in our suitcases... Maybe that just means I have a shopping problem.

This was the first time I was able to do this. I was so happy to help out a fellow Diser.

Maybe you do have a shopping problem. :confused3

I think we all do.

Lord knows DHS is the hottest park with no shade.

Thank you!
Everyone I know seems to think AK is the hottest and I've always thought DHS was.

 I like that!

Totally get where you're coming from.

er… no pun intended.

I bet you were! :goodvibes

Early!

Ugh. Sometimes people forget that there are actually other human beings on the planet.

After our last 2 trips I definitely think DHS is worse, too much concrete not enough trees.

 I like that!

::yes::

Totally get where you're coming from.

:rotfl2:

I bet you were! :goodvibes

It was a very special feeling.

I thought so too.

Ugh. Sometimes people forget that there are actually other human beings on the planet.

Seems the younger generation suffer from this more.

I don't think so, at least not me. I went to Catholic school until I was in 4th grade. We were graded on our manners.
Interesting! I went to public, but there was a heavy Catholic influence (many teachers were nuns). But I don't recall ever being graded on manners. I do remember that one evil nun with the yardstick. Pretty sure she's in a much "warmer" place now.

This is the South, manners are important.

I'm going to take that with a grain of salt. Are you sure you didn't instigate some of that?:maleficen

This is the North (far north). Manners are inherent.

Bring it, lady.

Actually, I didn't turn evil until grade 7 (Did you know this was a Canadianism? In the US you say 7th Grade, right? Up here it's Grade 7). The black and white... witch was in Gr.5. (Conversely, my favourite teacher was also a nun. Gr. 4.)
I don't think she ever hit me, but I saw her hit other kids. Everyone was absolutely terrified of her.
One day, I won a spelling bee. The reward was to get to go to the library for the rest of the lesson. I had to cross through her section of the class (it was a big class and we were split in two for lessons) and she demanded to know where I was going. I was so scared I couldn't speak. My teacher had to tell her it was okay. She grudgingly (no... dead serious) allowed me to go.

I'll give you that. But the South does have better manners than the middle north.

We do say 7th grade here, which would be middle school when most kids get a little bad. Middle school was rougher on my kids than High School.

Bless your Heart! Sounds like you were scarred for life.

That I wouldn't know... so... I'll give you that!

Huh. High school for mine. By a long ways.

Bless your Heart! Sounds like you were scarred for life.

Uh, oh... now I have to figure out how you mean that! The video just muddied the waters!

Good manners are universal. I certainly don't want to offend anyone. I just know I was brought up with good manners and to respect other.

I'm sorry to hear that. Kids can be so mean.

I'll never tell.

But what if our definition of good manners differs? Now that would make for an interesting get-together.

The worst. Police involvement, changing schools... fun times.

I'll never tell.

I can't tell if that's very good manners or very poor!

DHS is the hottest park with no shade.

It used to be AK until the park "matured", meaning the trees need to grow so they could offer shade. I think they offered more spots to find shade as well. DHS just... sucks.

Poor kid had been trying to swim all week. I don't know why but the pools at POP closed at 7 every night while we were there.

I don't get that either. Not enough lifeguards? Budget cuts? Rude or unsafe guests?

We had a good night except for the noise the tour groups made.

Just...why?

Thank you!

Yes, it is. Esp the new TSland. Unbearable. :(

Yes it would. That's what Dis Meets are for.

The worst. Police involvement, changing schools... fun times.

That's just terrible. It never got that serious for us.

I can't tell if that's very good manners or very poor!

Silence is golden.

Totally agree!

I don't get that either. Not enough lifeguards? Budget cuts? Rude or unsafe guests?

I have no idea, but it wasn't fun for the kids.

Just...why?

The teenagers were playing the rain and having fun. But it was loud fun for those of us trying to sleep.

Yes, it is. Esp the new TSland. Unbearable.

I haven't experienced TSland yet. Hopefully in December it won't be as bad.
