I was approved for the 40K Citi AA Biz card on 2/20. On 3/6 I sent a SM requesting a match to the higher 60K offer. After 4 days with no response, I made the request again via chat and was told I'd hear via mail in 7-10 days. Received the letter a couple of days ago denying my request because I wasn't solicited for the offer I mentioned and asking me to send a copy of the front and back of the offer I received. I just now logged into my account and see a points adjustment of 20K!! I'm not even half way through the $2K spend so this was a real surprise.

It seems like the people asking for the match on r/churning have already met the msr. Does that matter?
Hard to say with Chase. They are very inconsistent with matches.
If I end up starting another message, should I just act like I hadn't asked before? Phrase it the same as my original message?
Yep. Maybe try a different angle or phrase it very differently though.

Have you ever noticed that all of us that frequent this thread have WAY more likes than most people elsewhere on the DIS? Apparently we really enjoy encouraging and liking each other.

I don't frequent many threads on the DIS but I've always noticed that when I post (what I feel is) SUPER helpful info on the SW stickied thread that people are so stingy with the likes. There has to be a ton of people looking at that thread... It's crazy, at times, I literally am your google, you couldn't find the next SW release...I mean c'mon are you that lazy. And I (with no snark) provide you information, and it doesn't even receive 1 like...not even from the person who couldn't use GOOGLE!

So I looked at a page of THAT thread tonight...and an entire page (20 comments) had 7 likes TOTAL. No comment had more than one like. Meanwhile, page 761 here from just a couple hours ago here has like 70+ likes already with one of @wendow's comments having 15+ likes. Most of the regulars on our thread have more likes than comments - some by a huge margin!

I know we often comment on how the culture on OUR thread is different from the rest of the DIS - but maybe it starts with something as simple as likes. Knowing that people valued your contribution, that they liked what you had to say, that they appreciated you taking the time answer a question (even if it wasn't yours). I'll like things even if I disagree with them here, because what makes the thread great are people willing to contribute and give out advice. Maybe if people just liked comments more on these other threads they wouldn't turn into flaming heaps of dung so often, lol!

So I'm just rambling about "fake internet points" but there's a lot of reasons why this is the BEST corner of the DIS and maybe likes is the foundation of it all :thumbsup2 ::yes::

Are you fishing for "likes" again?? Making sure you stay well ahead of @Lain

I agree with you though. We are very quick to "like" each other's post here and that makes everyone feel, well, liked! I find the same on other boards here on the DIS. People are quite stingy with their "likes". The exceptions would be the GC thread and SB's thread but many are posting here as well.

This is definitely the BEST place on the DIS. I almost left this board years ago cause I was so tired of getting chewed up and spit out all the time. I was shocked that people who were supposed to be sharing info about their favorite place could be so angry and in attack mode all the time. I was like, why are you here, posting on a Disney forum!?! Go hang out on 'hotheads anonymous' lol! Anyways, now you have me rambling about fake internet points :rotfl:

I completely agree! I love this thread and I feel like I get so much help and love here where if I shared a similar story/problem somewhere else people would probably shrug and say, "everyone has problems". I like that we all help each other out no matter what and we are RESPECTFUL when we disagree on things.

@calypso726 , thanks for mentioning the Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Midtown East. I just used my 35k FN cert for a Saturday in December to bring my DD to see Rockefeller Center and go to the American Girl Store for her bday. The room would have been $428 before tax!

You’re welcome! Always happy to share how/where I use the free night certs and how I make use of our points. I know I am glad when others do as well!

LOL - more likes actually wasn't the goal (but might be a result ;)) The SW thread just got me a little irked - I share that awesome chart of historical releases there, I answer questions...crickets! Most people here go above and beyond too, not only do we "like", we will actually quote and say THANK YOU. What a novel concept...thanking people for their help and contributions!

I actually feel bad when I have a busy day and skim the thread quickly to catch up and don't like a lot of things. I feel like I let my friends down

See Everybody - people can get matches!! We weren't making it up... :rotfl2::rotfl:

The inconsistencies are wild though - persistence is the key. Just Keep Asking, Asking Asking...What do we do? We ask! ASK!

Per DoC: Chase Adds Signup Bonus Tracking Information on Credit Cards (See How Much Spend Remains)
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chas...cking-information-see-how-much-spend-remains/

Numerous folks on r/churning mentioning this today - DoC picked it up and wrote a post on it. I can't find this on my card personally - It seemed there are mixed DPs of who can see it and who can't.

I honestly think is a non-story because (oh yeah you know what's coming...he's gonna say it...AGAIN...:duck:) You should have a spreadsheet and meticulously track this stuff yourself!! The name of this game is organization :)

> DUDE...we get it! You're in love with spreadsheets! :teacher:
I just checked my CIP and I don't see it there. I see plenty of comments on DoC stating the same.

Luckily I have a detailed spreadsheet with every charge i've made, URs earned, amount remaining for MSR, and percent complete. Spreadsheets are our friends!

 (Actual picture of me and my spreadsheet...)

Or maybe it’s this: :grouphug: (I have a lot of spreadsheets after all!)

I find I am also more likely to like random posts in other places where NO ONE else has liked things and I have to remind myself I am not in the CC thread and need to show some self-restraint.

Haha I do that, too. I guess I don't care what people think of me. I will say that my sarcasm does NOT register well on other threads.

Sometimes I find myself liking posts in other threads that turn out to be months or years old and I wonder if those posters think I'm crazy, lol.:thumbsup2

Update on my CSP bonus match situation: The response I got to asking why I didn't qualify for the match said that it was because I hadn't met the spend and if I message back when the msr is met, I'll get it. And by "I", I mean dh. Which really means me, of course.:cool2:

Popping in to report that Diamond status pays off and Hilton does so well on the customer service front. Dinner reservations for Ithaa were fully booked. We managed to get lunch reservations on Saturday though. While we were enjoying our complimentary breakfast at Atoll Marketplace the hostess for Ithaa came by to welcome us to the property and asked about our stay. I mentioned we were on the waitlist as they were fully booked. She called the manager and managed to work some magic and we now have reservations for this evening. Yay!!!

The most surprising thing of all is what I found at the boutique this morning and why I am posting it here. It’s a Disney board and y’all (well most of y’all) will understand why I am so excited! I found a print dress with Mickey Mouse and destinations of different countries with their respective maps! I normally don’t wear dresses but this was too cute to pass up. We are using our Aspire card and charging everything to the room so I should get somewhere between 14 and 34 points per dollar depending on how the Aspire card bonus and Diamond status kicker shake out.

Here’s the Disney/Travel hacking mash up dress. #whenworldscollide
