I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

They told DH no for his case. I don't think he argued much. Mainly I just wanted it to go away because he had incurred TWO months of late fees/interest over not paying this AF because I thought it'd get refunded, so they had now reported it as past 30 days on his credit report. They took all the fees off/said the past due will come off credit report, so DH just paid the $19. Last AF we are ever paying on that dumb card. It was a really old secured card, not one of their rewards cards.
I’m still thinking I’ll make a note on my spreadsheet. I’m not sure if the Venture can be PC’d to a no AF card. We may just end up closing the card

I just booked this for our trip in a few weeks. I'm excited to see all the characters, but most excited for Ariel! She is my absolute fav! I've heard Flynn is hilarious though.
Have you eaten at 1900 pf? The mad hatter is so funny there. He saw a little girl using a knife across the restaurant and yelled, “she’s got a knife!!!” really loud to everyone

DOC has a link here where you can check for PCs on your card. You may need to login in another tab first. I could either do no fee venture one or no fee quicksilver but keep DHs $19 AF. Or close card. I changed it online because 1. I couldn't find anywhere to chat/sm to close card and 2. I thought the AF would go away and that would be easier/faster than DH calling. But DH did everything this morning via online chat so idk how I missed it

Not recent but last September got approved for the 50K for one purchase and within the next week they had 60K for one purchase. I sent a message, maybe even 2, and never heard from them but the miles mysteriously just showed up in mine and DH's account with the line Adjustment. It did take until the statement after the bonus miles posted.
Thank you! That is certainly encouraging!

That is one of our fav breakfasts! We've done it like 3x though so I'm staying away from it for our next trip. I am planning dinner at 1900 PF for my dd's b-day. It's way more than I would normally pay OOP for a meal, even at Disney, but it's my dd16's b-day and Cinderella has always been her fav growing up. She's loved other princesses like Rapunzel and Moana but Cindy is her classic fav.

I find I am also more likely to like random posts in other places where NO ONE else has liked things and I have to remind myself I am not in the CC thread and need to show some self-restraint.

I will like stuff but if I'm reading something old I make sure not to.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/d...ing-sold-as-extras/ar-BBV2Adb?ocid=spartanntp

This makes me feel real safe about flying that Boeing sells safety features as "extras". :scared1:

No different than stuff on a car being extra
Sadly they know their market and the price point they can sell the planes at. I would imagine airbus is the same way.

Internet is out and supposed to be back by 1030. Over 2500 of us in the area. I've been waiting for the xfinity truck sitting at the park across the street to move and go work for over half an hour and I see he finally left. I'd like to think it was his break time but I can't plus the bathrooms are still closed for winter so not like he did anything. Of course it's also on the day I have an appt with a trainer at the gym in the afternoon so I can't escape either. Sigh my swagbucks are suffering :sad1:

Great pictures!! You look like a model!!

Aaaww thank you!

Love your dress and you look so happy!! And thank you for the laugh this morning regarding "Baby shark a doo" vs. "Holy crap a doo". You can enjoy the beautiful scenery without dipping a toe in!

Thank you! I was brave and dipped a toe but that’s as far as it goes.

Love your dress. It’s super cute. I get the shark thing. Me feet don’t touch the bottom unless I can see it. So my husband carts me around if he wants me to go out in the ocean.

The water is crystal clear and you can see straight to the bottom even in deeper areas. But I’m still not going past my ankles.

You call this an irrational fear...

you-keep-using-that-word.jpg

Ummmm Seems RATIONAL to me!! :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Yay for Princess Bride quotes! Plane Princess jumped in while I had a panic attack. Fortunately he came out quickly and didn’t feel the need to back in again.

Oh my goodness!!! I wouldn’t get in either with him, even though he is just swimming and singing “Baby shark doo doo doo doo doo”! What if “Grandma shark doo doo doo doo” is also swimming nearby :scared1:

See, that’s why I’m not going in. I know the lyrics to that song and really don’t want to meet the rest of the family.

And it looks fantastic - obviously meant just for you!!!

Thank you!

You look gorgeous in that dress! I am obsessed with it and I NEED one for my summer cruise now. Off to scour the interwebs to see if I can find a place selling it. Is it actually a Disney brand dress?

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yes. Here is a pic of the tag.

:rotfl: Now that song is stuck in my head. I'm enjoying following along on your AH-mazing trip! #lifegoals #livingvicariously

You’re welcome LOL and Thank you!

Hi all--as a dedicated lurker, I'm working hard to get caught up, but I keep falling further behind. I am seeking advice, though on whether you experts think it would be safe for P1 or P2 to go for a second CIP. We would be using our SSN. Here are our stats:

P1 (3/24)
CSP 5/17
United Mileage Plus 9/17
CIP 4/18
Southwest Business 10/18
Southwest Plus 11/18

P2 (3/24)
CSP 3/17
Southwest Plus 7/17
CIP 3/18
United Mileage Plus 8/18
United Business 2/19

If you think it would be okay, who would you recommend apply? I really appreciate all of the advice on here. I know I haven't posted much, but the help I've gotten here has sent my family to: Costa Rica, the Desert Southwest-Vegas + 4 National Parks, Florida (X2), Belize and San Antonio, and has funded upcoming trips to Iceland and Florida. I did dip into some of my UR for the flights to Iceland which is why I'm working to replenish the supply. I really appreciate any advice!

So as I was talking to the director of my DD's new daycare yesterday, I was asking her if I could change cc's easily as I have different spends to meet/points to collect. She said yes, and then asked me if I have a Capital One Venture. I said no and she proceeded to tell me I'm missing out on "the best card out there" and how she gets 2% back on everything. I tried to explain about sign up bonuses and how I have different cards for different categories that get me better than 2%, and her response was "but this is 2% back on EVERYTHING". :rolleyes2 I gave up and said I'd look into it, lol.

It works -- with 40,000 AA points, $2,000 spend and the $200.00 statement credit. Can this be matched for a higher offer (maybe 60,000 points)? I may jump on it!
Yep - that’s the one we are all hitting up and then matching for 20k more points.

You can use the credit on a gift card and if you don’t have a use for the GC you can sell it on Raise or another reseller and get about 80% of the card value in cash :)

Save yourself the trouble in the future...when somebody recommends a card to me, I immediately go to “Thanks! I’ll look into it” :rotfl2:

And then in my head...

That’s interesting because on that link it says the AF will be refunded if cancelled within 30 days of it posting

Dined at Ithaa this evening. Bucket list goal ... check

It was an awesome experience! It’s a set price and set menu. The only thing you choose was fish or meat for the main course. Prior to going down into the restaurant everyone is given a glass of champagne to toast. We arrived early and I asked politely if I could go in and takes some pictures while the restaurant was empty and they obliged my request. It is smaller than it appears in the travel magazine pictures. It’s still pretty amazing. After dinner, the chef comes to each table to ask what was the favorite course and if there was any course we didn’t care for too much. The attire for dinner is smart casual but you leave your shoes on the rack at the front door. Everyone dines barefoot which cuts down on the sand getting everywhere.

Haha our capital one will be in the sock drawer now that we made the MSR

When I was getting my haircut yesterday I was talking to my hair cutter about credit cards. She actually listened to everything I said which was nice for a change. I encouraged her to get a discover card because she said she has no credit cards and I thought it was a good starter card

I'm going to chime in regarding the likes here, and say it's the best thread on the board. What really impresses me, though, is that we can all play a slightly different game, have different goals, and have different dreams about how to spend those points, and it's OK! I mean, seriously, it's NOT ok elsewhere on these boards. I've seen people bicker about which resort is better, which restaurant is better (seriously, do we all have to like the same meal?), and which cruise line is better (yeah, on a Disney board). I don't want to hear that I'm dumb for wanting to sail with Disney if it makes me happy. Why do people even need to judge how I choose to spend my vacation time/money/points? It gets old after a while, and I get tired scrolling past the one-hit-wonder posters who seem to have a need for the rest of us to agree on what is best. So thank you for making this thread a great place where we are allowed to think, analyze, critique, and be ourselves! :grouphug:

Wow! Its also kinda pathetic that United did not purchase either safety feature. I guess I shouldn't be shocked.

I had the same though. Seriously, United???

I think this is why we "like" so much more on this thread. We are participating in an actual conversation, so "liking" is kind of like nodding your head at the person talking. Maybe you don't have a comment to add, but you're just validating that you heard what the person said. Also, I care a lot more about the random comments from people I "know" than the motley collection of stuff on the general threads. I absolutely do like stuff I find helpful elsewhere, and will be certain to write a thank you if someone answers a direct question, but when I'm just browsing through other info, I'm much less likely to "like".

Yes, yes, and yes!

Oh bless your young heart! The bad old days were pre horrible IT when you had to get up at o-dark-thirty and start dialing over and over on both the land line AND the newfangled cell listening to horrible clashing fuzzy muszac! You whippersnappers have no IDEA how GOOD you have it!!1

Oh, I remember those days. Back when I had to set an alarm for 3:50AM just to be able to try to book the castle for breakfast, CP before park opening, etc. And they didn't have the +10 back then, so it was days of doing this. I had WDW Dine on speed dial and would be hitting it until they opened up. Then I couldn't go back to sleep. Sometimes the time difference really stinks.

The smolder is real. Put me on board with a tangled live action film

We met Flynn Rider on the Magic, at Rapunzel's restaurant. DD and I asked him for the smolder. He kept asking us if we could handle it. :rotfl:
