Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

We had 5 Disney "adults" (2 adults and 3 teenagers under 18) in a standard YC CL room in June 2018... so some rooms can sleep 5 on the CL.
Disregard this!! I just read back a bit and saw that the CL Standard rooms only sleep 4 now. :( Boo! That is definitely going to change things for us in June 2020!

Not anymore. All YC and BC CL rooms have a max capacity of 4 plus one under 3 yrs old.

I feel the same as you! We had 2 adults and 4 kids (2 under 3) in a CL room at both the BC and YC last June, and when I went to book this year I was surprised they were all sold out until I realized it was because we now exceed room occupancy with a max of 4 (2 kids still under 3, so we would have been able to stay 1 more year in a regular room), and when I took a kid away there were tons of rooms. I ended up booking the BWI CL instead, since we wanted an Epcot resort for part of our split stay. I was bummed, I would rather have had YC or BC, particularly since (as of now) the BWI has deluxe CL rooms that sleep 6 so we will still be able to stay there once our twins turn 3, and this would have been our last summer we fit in a CL room at the YC/BC.

I am booked in a Standard View YC CL room for the end of May but could move to Sugarloaf at the GF for about $150 more total for the length of the stay. Are the offerings in the lounges much different between YC and Sugarloaf?
In fairness, it has been a few years since I have stayed at either, but we felt the food at GF was a little bit better then the rest. Someone else can give you better food updates, but I think GF still offers the unique afternoon tea time. (not a huge deal, but still unique)

I'd say the bigger difference though is the things that don't change, like location and square footage.

GF is on the monorail loop, which means you can dine any place on the monorail loop quite easily. It is also close to MK, which used to be open late most days. In 2019, not so much.

YC is walking distance to both Epcot and HS, which will become a bigger plus come August 29, when the new SW starts to open. You get easy access to all BC/YC/BWK/Swan/Dolphin and WS eateries (with park admission), but none of the pathways are covered. In heavy afternoon rain storms those paths can be rather wet. In nice weather, uncovered paths are super. You can also get around via shuttle boats, but they aren't super fast.

They both have very nice pools, I suggest looking at images of each if the pool is important to you. Much of the YC main pool has a rather unique sand bottom, including a kid sand play area. The GF pools are also very nice.

Rooms at both are quite spacious, but GF is bigger. GF/CR standard rooms are 440sq ft (though I think the GF room layout/allocation of that 440sq ft is much better), YC/BC=381.
To compare other WDW hotels you may have tried: WL/AKL=344, Poly is 415, Bwk=371, mods=314, values=260. This is a big part of why you will most often see AKL and WL for lower rates, while GF is often the highest.

The downside of standard Sugarloaf, within GF, the rooms and lounge do no offer views of MK. It is not located in the main building, so you can't hear the live music (only the more $$ CL at GF), and if you want to eat anywhere other than the lounge, you have to walk outdoors. This matters when you want to dine at V&A or Citricos during a downpour.

Overall though Sugarloaf is a great building location. It is right next to the GF quick serve place.

Sugarloaf is also relatively close tot he GF convention building. If you are at GF for business, Sugarloaf is a plus.

There's also the new gondola, but I'm sure about construction or the opening.

The food will be different but not vastly. It's not like at GF you're getting lobster and YC gets bologna sandwiches, ha. Where will you be spending more of your time? MK or EP & HS? I think location plays a bigger role than the food.

Thanks! We are generally Epcot resort area people and actually stayed YC CL once before several years ago but I've never stayed at GF (non DVC) and was wondering if this trip might be the time to cross it off my WDW Resort Bucket list. :) This is a birthday trip for me for an, um, significant birthday so I am splurging a bit. I think we'll probably end up sticking with YC. The newly renovated rooms seem great, the proximity to Epcot is always a huge plus for us and I can probably find another way to spend that $150-$200 price difference. :rolleyes1

So we are arriving at the Beach Club later today (YAY!!). I’ve received two texts that our room isn’t quite ready yet, but when I looked at the app, I was able to see our room number. Is reasonably safe to assume that will be our room number, but the room is just being cleaned/waiting to be cleaned/otherwise unavailable at the moment? We won’t get in until much later today (we haven’t even left Colorado yet) so no need to get into our room, I’m just curious if our currently assigned room is likely to remain our room when we do arrive.

It is all about what you value and personally like. We have stayed at just about all the WDW hotels, and many offsite places as well. New and super clean is a nice plus when it comes to hotel rooms.

Though perhaps I should mention, since you said this was a birthday celebration, GF is mildly themed towards Alice in Wonderland. A in W is the origin of the Un-Birthday Song....Just sayin'.

In my past experience, Disney doesn't give the room number until the room is actually ready to be occupied. Once you see the number, you can go straight to the room and skip the desk so that room should be done.

Hope you had a good flight! Very curious to know if the room number texted to you earlier ended up being your actual room number! Please keep us posted and have a great time!

We are doing our very first club level stay this November at the Beach Club. How long does it usually take to hear from DSS? I've had the reservation for a week. I'm mostly anxious to find out if we'll be able to purchase the extra fast passes.

Getting a call or card in the mail from signature services can be hit or miss. I have my first CL stay coming up soon and am split between two resorts and did not hear for either of them.

If you have questions, I would reach out directly: (407) 939-7777 or disney.signature.services@disneyworld.com

Just to add to add, it is usually best to call DSS with questions about the paid CL fast passes. Have your reservation number ready.
Happy planning! :flower:

Thanks! We had a lengthy delay (2+ hours) getting out of Denver and then waited (no joke) for 90 minutes at baggage at MCO. Not a good start to our trip, but I have high hopes it will get much better from here! I still haven’t solved the room mystery yet. I never got a text or email that our room is ready. We are en route to BC righ now. I’ll post an update.

Ugh! Sorry you experienced so many delays! I really hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!

Sorry about the delays. Hope you have a great time at the BC :wizard:.

Quick update— we did have to go to check-in when we arrived. The good news is that at 1 AM, no one else was waiting to check in! It was very quick. The reason I needed to check in at the desk had to do with the expiration date on the credit card I’d used for online check-in. I had received a new card a in the mail few weeks ago and hadn’t thought to update it in MDE.

DD and I are both well rested after our late night of delays, just enjoyed some breakfast in the lounge (or rather on our balcony!), and now we are off to Epcot for Flower and Garden!! So excited to be here!!

So glad you made it after the delays!

Was it the same room number you saw earlier in MDE? The not ready text must’ve been because of the credit card issue. Weird because there is a text that says please see the front desk. All that matters is that you’re there and you can start your trip!

Sorry to hear about your delays, but thanks for sharing.

Please keep sharing those details.

I sometimes want to rip my hair out when some DISers insist everyone arrives at WDW no more than 90 min after their scheduled MCO landing.

Sometimes we get room ready texts and sometimes we don't. I can though, at least WDW is pretty nice about it. More than once, Royal Pacific staff (Universal) was rather unapologetic, which was frustrating, because the US staff is usually great.

I feel uncomfortable complaining when 95% of the staff is super, but there's one bad egg in the mix. That was our last visit to RP: most staff members weren't just nice, several went above and beyond our expectations.

I never know quite what number to circle in the feedback surveys.

Yes, same room number that I saw in MDE prior to our arrival. It was strange, but we got a small upgrade from standard to garden view. We have a balcony, too, which is really nice.
