Official 2019 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend

Sorry - I'm new to all of this. Is the process for entering the bib number the same for people who have AP provided PhotoPass?
Yes, it should be. I have AP. It shouldn't make a difference as your only entering a code and a bib number. They'll have no idea by that if you are an AP or not.

I've tried every way possible and I can't get it to take. I'll keep trying but thinking that it won't be accepted until after the race.
Using the MDE app, I was able to put the codes in, and I think they were accepted. It said that the code was linked. If pictures don’t start showing up after the 5k, I will put the code in again.

Had my first race-related nightmare last night. The kind I always have before runDisney events: a series of delays and getting lost etc. Was I glad when I woke up and saw it was just a dream!

How do they route car traffic during the race on the roads leading in and out of AK? Will I be able to leave the lot with my car once our runner passes or will I be "trapped" until the race is finished since Osceola Parkway is part of the race Route?
I've definitely seen cars leaving the AK parking lot while I was running past, and there is traffic on Osceola (they close one or two lanes for the race, but one is open for traffic), so I'm sure you'll be able to leave. They may route you differently than the norm, and there may be a long back-up to get out, but I'm 95% certain you'll be able to get somewhere.

Anyone have helpful hints on signing up for the race photos? I found the link with the race ID required (Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon: 2019-STAR-HLFx-xxxx) but it isn't being accepted on the photopass site, even when I take the dashes out. Thanks!
I've only ever added my codes on the day of the race - sometimes before it's run, sometimes after, but never this far ahead. I've never had a problem linking the code, though, so maybe just wait and try on race day?

I just had a thought. If your bib number is less than 5 digits, try and add zeros before your number to make it 5 digits. I’m not sure if it mentioned that in the guide or not.

Just like everyone else, I am getting excited.
Running plan for days remaining:
T - 5 miles
Th - 4 miles, hill repeats
Sat - 6 miles
Sun - 10 miles
T - 4 miles
Th - 4 miles and Fly to Orlando
Sat - 10K
Sun - 1/2

Just checked weather, it is going to be HOT - and I am looking forward to that after this PA winter, hoping for more sun than clouds.

When my daughter ran the challenge she needed to be present for the mandatory picture that they take.

My 15-year-old nephew ran the challenge two years ago and we were able to pick up his stuff regardless. They made a note on his record and gave us a wristband for him to wear during the Half that verified his eligibility and registration for the challenge.

Looking for any info on the kids races! We just planned a last minute extension for our trip for spring break and my DD loves Star Wars! She is 5 and can run the mile or the 200M dash and both are still open for registration. Are there any characters at the kids races? Any input or feedback would be appreciated! Thanks

What does everyone do as far as sunglasses go? Do you bring them with you to wear when the sun comes up? Especially for the half when most of our running will be after the sun comes up.

Also, how does everyone stay hydrated in the days leading up to the race? Has anyone tried the Liquid I.V. packets? I considered picking some of those up to bring with me, I know the Florida heat can be a lot sometimes.

What you should not do with your sunglasses is carelessly tuck them into your fuel belt at the beginning, expecting them to still be there when the sun comes up! I did this for the Princess half and lost them around mile 2 or 3.

We didn't do anything special hydration-wise beforehand, but we do tend to drink a lot of water regularly and stuck with that.

I have foldable Ray bans that I can put in a hand water bottle thingy.

But I can't decide if I want to bring them because they are ray bans (I got them for free though) lol or if I want to bring just a really cheap throw away pair.

The cheap throw away pairs won't help much....

Honestly I've never run with sun glasses but I feel like I need to! My last run was so sunny and it hurt my eyes.

Wear them on my head the whole race, they’re light, don’t even know they’re there. A must for me...

Same here. I wear them on my head until sunrise. I usually bring a hand towel (a local race near me gives them out) to wipe off the condensation (some people mistake it for sweat...pfffffttttt) off of the lenses. If you don't bring a towel, the aid stations usually have paper towels that will work.

Forget protecting the eyes...UV...road glare...blah blah blah...The important thing to remember is you gotta have sunglasses for that awesome finish photo!

Same here, I just perch my sunglasses on top of my head until I need them. I only run with cheap sunglasses so you may be less comfortable with this if they are expensive and you worry about losing them.

I also keep my sunglasses on my head for the half. They grip well and don't slide. I'm fine without them for 5k and 10k because I usually finish before sunrise (although for 10ks there is a glow in the sky), but I tend to hit Oceola as the sun comes up during halfs and the sun can be brutal. It really depends on your corral and pace. Faster people are finished before sunrise; slower people don't turn toward the sun until it's high enough that the brim of a cap/visor is enough.

I wear a running hat and I just rest the sunglasses on my head, on top of the hat brim. They're sports sunglasses so they are light and they stay put.

Staring into the bright sun is so uncomfortable, I would never risk going without sunglasses. Even on overcast days it can be bright. However, for the 10k I'm usually done before the sun comes up, so I skip the glasses. I'll usually pack them in my gear bag for after the race though!

Oh man, I didn't even think about sunglasses. I always run in the sunlight, so I've never tried running with them atop my head. Ruh roh, new challenge to evaluate.

I live in FL, so nothing different than I do regularly: drink water as thirst dictates, Nuun and Tailwind immediately before/during/after running. Iv'e never heard of Liquid I.V., so can't comment on that!
