My cat climbs our porch screens. Well my grand-cat...she arrived home from college with DD19 this time last year and for some reason I am now stuck with her. She scales the screens to the top...10feet. I also can't use my window shades in my bedroom because she climbs those. Oh, and my plants seem to be her litter box. (I'm a tad bitter about this animal...)
I just don’t want to deal with that. They’ll have to live with being inside. I’m not replacing those screens every week lol

You'll have to let us know how the underwriter's take your inquiries and open accounts from our little hobby here, since ya'll didn't have time to lay off the apps with it all happening so fast.
We were preapproved right away. I’m not sure if that means anything. Dh has been doing most of the financial side of the things. We were able to make an offer without it being contingent on selling our other house so I know that’s a good thing too

We do too! It’s a salt pool

Oh man, I LOVE salt pools! I told DH if we ever put one in, we were definitely doing a salt pool!

I continue to be fascinated by the way credit works. Late last night Citi finally approved my next AA after receiving income verification (despite that being my 8th Citi card overall with never a request before). And it was approved for a $22k credit line. I would think, if Citi felt the need to stop and verify income, that would mean I was almost maxed out with them. Guess not?

All of this is very interesting.

I agree. DH currently has 40k worth of credit in his name on two Citi cards. Meanwhile, he's held one Amex for 7 years and when he just got his second Amex, they only gave him a 5k credit line even though his income has more than doubled since his first card. Chase gave me instant approval and a 24k credit limit on my 7th card with them :confused3 I never really care though since we never come close to hitting our credit limits, but it is weird.

Speaking of Capitol One, I need to buy WDW tickets for my Nov trip. I'm leaning towards Undercover tourist because they code as travel and have a park hopper fifth day free promo right now. I cant get an Arrival+ because I'm over 6/24 so my next thought is Capitol One Venture 50k offer to erase part of the charge. Can anyone come up with a better idea that I am not thinking of?

I don’t think I’ve ever been in a salt pool. I know it’s supposed to be a lot easier on your hair, skin, and eyes. I asked the realtor if it’s easier to take care of than chlorine and he said it’s about the same.

Laughing at the talk about grand-pets. I totally did that to my parents. Went to college, came back with a dog. Couldn't afford to live in a decent place that allowed pets so my parents took the dog "temporarily". I met and then moved in with my future wife who had a dog that was not very social so my parents kept my dog. He became my dad's buddy though and even learned how to retrieve beer from the fridge lol.

The pool we go to for swimming lessons is a salt water pool so I can't speak to maintaining it, but I do think it is easier on the skin and eyes. The only thing I think is weird about it is my daughter likes to lick her lips when we swim in the salt water pool (because of the taste?) and doesn't in regular chlorine pools.

Congrats @Haley R

Seconding this request! We just (as in, literally five minutes ago) sent off all our documents for a pre-approval and I am already sweating at the thought of having to explain all those inquiries and bank bonuses to a lender. Please report back! Y'all are first-time homebuyers, right?

You don't need to sweat it LOL. The inquiries are all calculated into your score, so as long as your score is still good you will be just fine. You will have to sign something explaining what each one is for, and if the account isn't yet on your credit report, they will have to add it, so they have the correct debt calculations, but not a big deal. The explanation is as simple as "opened a new card, already on my report" or "opened a new card" and then give them the account information. The bank bonuses, we don't really have any way to know about those unless we see a whole bunch of weird large deposits in your account, those would have to be explained.

Oh my gosh, that's so funny! My DS20 wants a dog. We currently have a cat. He wants a Husky, and then plans to bring the dog with him when he moves. Although, he seems quite comfortable living in my finished basement so really this means I'll have a Husky. :rolleyes2 Plus, I told him a lot of apartments won't allow a big dog like that.

This card’s kind of been a sleeper on r/churning. Lots of folks were signing up for it. I think even @gottalovepluto got it.
*sigh* That card is waiting for me when I get home to make a $5k spend on and it’s questionable if I’ll even get the right bonus.... Now to decide if I say screw it & close it right away in order to hit the bonus on another card.

Normally I’d be rather pissed but I’m in the Seychelles right now and it took me about 5 seconds after hitting the ground to slip into Island Mode.

The MasterCard Gift Card deal is back at Albertsons, Safeway et al. Expires 5/14/19.

Save $10 on 2x $50 MCGC ($4.95 activation fee, $0.10 savings)

Save $15 on 2x $100 MCGC ($5.95 activation fee, $3.10 savings)

Pay with a credit card that gets you a bonus at supermarkets (e.g., Amex Gold for 4x MR, Chase Freedom this quarter for 5x UR, Amex BCP for 6% cash back).

Recently, the Metabank-issued MCGCs in the shiny silver and gold packaging sold at grocery stores have been coding as debit, and thus triggering only a 1% fee on Plastiq.

Enjoy!

It’s been raining most of the day. Was POURING on arrival and lots more rain in the forecast but I got lucky and caught a break this evening. Next storm is coming in and I know I just shared a photo but I think this is one of the coolest I’ve ever taken so I’m sharing a second one. Keep chasing points and dreams DISchurners!

We just went swimming in the ocean yesterday and I did the exact same thing. I would never do that in a chlorine pool.

We were never asked about any of our cards so never had to explain why they were opened or sign anything
