DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Looks like a she from a couple of points to me....
Most definitely.

My mistake totally! In my head, I thought Captain America.

Right boys, I'll off behind the Great Firewall of China in the morning, so I'll check out and see you in a week. As TL doesn't seem to want to pick up the mantle, I nominate Jeff for calling it duties.

Have a great week fellas.

I only get one Saturday off every 6 weeks (theoretically), so my weekend usually doesn't start until after 4pm on Saturday and lasts for one day. So my calling of weekends reflects thusly.

Have fun in Shanghai. Bring us back something cool!

That does make me wonder, how many of us have been to Disney parks outside of the U.S.? I've been lucky enough to visit Tokyo Disneyland, and Paris is on the bucket list someday....

TL

Morning Men,

Hope you are all ready for Mother's Day. DW told me Friday she wanted to go see Endgame today so I think that is a win.

Volleyball regionals were yesterday and we are headed to the provincial championship next weekend as the top seed from the region. Boys played great and we seem to be picking it up when we need to. Looking forward to next weekend.

Have a good one all.

I've almost stayed in all the dvc resorts in Florida, and that's my goal. I'd like to add a trip to DisneyLand and a stay at Aulani. I doubt I'll ever make it to the other parks outside the US.

That is a win. Enjoy the movie. Congrats on the win thru the power outage yesterday.

Happy Mother's day to everyone's better half.

I may have to turn in my DisDad number. SWMBO has been saving up for a vacation and asked if I wanted to visit the World, her treat and I said no. I'll throw myself on the mercy of the CBO and offer this excuse. I can only get 4 days off right now and since the driving would all be on me I would leave on a Tuesday AM get in around noon on Wednesday and have to leave by noon on Thursday to be back Friday night. Too much like our first couple of trips which I why I was "notafan". When age, kids, and helping out with the trips more caught up with her our vacations became much more pleasant.

I always insisted on driving, in order to save the $1000+ on flights. However, after flying one trip and making it 2 hours compared to 13 hours driving, I'm willing to pay for the flights. Sadly, the cost of Disney trips has priced me out of the market. While we used to make two trips a year, we won't even make one trip this year. I know Disney doesn't care since profits are higher than ever. But, it is sad to see where they, and comparatively, are country is going.

Monday again...
Dan, I hope you're enjoying your Asian excursion. Have a good time at Shanghai Disney. And watch yourself at those Chinese massage parlours.

I failed miserably with my Friday duties. I must have already been in the bar three sheets to the wind at that point.

I did get to Disneyland Paris but it was 1999 so there have been massive changes since then.
I landed in Hong Kong a couple times but never was able to stop to visit Disneyland.
If I go to any other park besides WDW, top of my list is Disneyland just to say I've walked in Walt's footsteps.
A tour of the Asian parks someday would be nice, but I don't know if that will ever happen.

The cost has become an issue for me as well. Driving for me is 3 days. Flying is painful at $3000 for a family of four. I used to go every 12-18 months. Last gap was 4 years. I suspect the next will be similar. I would like to get there for WDW's 50th in 2021.

Well this week has started peachy. What was a good day yesterday, Avengers for Mother's Day, 1-0 win in soccer, Raptors beating the Sixers ended with a bang. DS showed up at the soccer pitch to change vehicles with me last night and said something is wrong with Mom's Tuscon. So about an hour later we're waiting for the tow truck to take it to the dealer. No power, loud engine knock and oil and engine light on. Just hope this is covered by the warranty.

Not good.
Hope it isn't too painful.

D'oh. That stinks. Hope it's not as bad as it looks.

This looks like a job for...

And Manchester City has done it again. But, Dan's team finished 10th, so there's that.

We flew the smaller airline into Sanford and rented a car. It may have been the same price if we had flown a larger airline into MCO. However, it is a 2 hour drive to Louisville or Nashville to catch a flight to MCO.

Good news on the movie and soccer victory. Watched the replay of the game winner
That was a great play - good defense too. Hope the Tuscon repair is cheap and quick.

And to finish off the Monday, seized engine!! Beverley!!

Need to get all our paperwork together so it can be submitted to Hyundai. So how long should this take I ask? About a month she says!

Beverley!!
