Canadian Buffoon's Semi-EPIC Vacation - 10/29 - Link to new TR!

Yay! There's my guy. I'm pretty sure I didn't get a picture of him this trip so I'm glad to see yours.
:) Glad I took it, then.
That's the only thing I got at the food booths and I really enjoyed it.
It was good.
But the lobster was better.
So glad I didn't try this, it sounds disgusting.
It was. 🤢
It was on my list and I'm not sure why because I'm not the biggest fan of garlic. But I love getting grilled corn that's been dipped in butter at the North GA State Fair and I guess I was picturing something like that.
That sounds good!
And similar to what I was expecting.
I thought they'd grill the corn
then slather on the garlic butter.

Not so much.
:crazy2: Definitely did not enjoy that part of the trip. I've been a few other times in the spring and they were much worse this trip.
I've never seen them that bad.
Not like I go every spring, but...

Never had anything there but then I'm not a huge fan of caramel.
What about chocolate?
I had an amazing Rice Krispie
cake dipped in chocolate there.
I do like caramel popcorn a bit but would much rather have something else if I have a choice.
I can understand that.
I love caramel corn, but...
often want something else.
Me too! So much easier than trying to research and find things afterwards.
Feels like cheating...
And I'm okay with that!

:rotfl:I bet you were a bit shocked and disappointed at the same time.
Not really.
If it had been the outdoors ones...
then yes, probably.
But this one is more like...

A museum.
Because animal butt shots are necessary for every TR of course.
Of course! That's it!
I haven't seen that one since 2010. I keep meaning to go back but sometimes those theaters in the round can trigger my motion sickness.
Ah! Then I can totally understand
why you might not want to go back.

Took me twice through but I finally found your latest sponsorship of the F&G Festival.
;)

Well, not only was I 2 updates behind, I am also 3 pages behind. I haven't scrolled from pp 24-26, so there very well may be a 3rd. Sorry. I just can't keep my head above water right now on the DIS. Other more important things are just too pressing. I've got another little getaway planned soon and very little time off until then, but I will try, k?

Anywho, loved your chapter(s). I have many almost identical photos that you do around WS (including the bonsai bouganvilla (sp?) and the torii gate and the topiaries. Yours are better. Got my a Teppan ADR for the kiddos and myself in Sept, and am sure looking forward to it. :)

ETA: I was secretly relieved that there indeed were no more updates on those last pages. However, I am sad that I had to skip the I'm sure very witty and fun banter. Hope you had a fantastic Canada Day! Hugs.

I thought they'd grill the corn
then slather on the garlic butter.

I might be the odd one out...but I devoured my corn swimming in garlic butter down to the last kernel. May have even licked my lips clean :rolleyes1🌽🌽🌽

Nope. You're all caught up. :)
Sorry. I just can't keep my head above water right now on the DIS. Other more important things are just too pressing.
Life.
I get it. :)
Do the things that are
more important.
The DIS will still be here
if/when you have the time

and/or desire to come back. :)

Oh! Very nice.
Another photo trip?

Anywho, loved your chapter(s).
Thanks. :)

Nah. I highly doubt that.
Got my a Teppan ADR for the kiddos and myself in Sept, and am sure looking forward to it. :)
I'd definitely do it again!
First time?

Let me ask you this...
Was it hot?

Nope. You're all caught up. :)

Nah. I highly doubt that.

I'd definitely do it again!
First time?
No, just visiting a friend. :) Others ah e asked to see some from my recent trip, so may put some of those up on my thread eventually.

I'd love to make it down there. :)

Someday? Try to hit up the WWII museum too.

You can have my share. :)
I don't dislike it, but would
just rather have other things.

I'll take you up on that offer.

We'll call 'em the
Bubble Tea Twins.

:thumbsup2

Just the one inside, though!
Pretty sure the outside ones
are real and not glued.

I'm going to try and remember to look at both.

I'm seeing more and more
similarities. :)

I was thinking the same thing.

Not at all that I remember... and I am a great wuss when it comes to hot in the spicy sense
Meant in the temperature sense.
Ours were cold.
Cold corn is..... terrible.

We were just there a couple weeks ago and stayed at Old Key West - we snagged a one-bedroom villa, and LOVED it! It was our first time staying at that resort (we are not DVC) and would not hesitate to go back if the opportunity arose. I loved seeing your pictures - brought back a lot of great memories! :) :) :)

Ours were still warm so that is probably a pretty significant difference in how the food tasted
It would certainly make
a big difference.
Warm is good.

Cold is gross.

First off... :welcome: to the TR!
It's a really nice resort, isn't it?
Where abouts were you?

Do you remember your building number?
It was our first time staying at that resort (we are not DVC) and would not hesitate to go back if the opportunity arose.
It was our first too.
And would love to stay
there again. :)
I loved seeing your pictures - brought back a lot of great memories! :) :) :)
:) Thanks!

Lunch time!

No rush...it can wait, and you certainly didnt eat much.

Our first stop, the Citrus Blossom.
Kay (DD18) had asked for the
souvenir Orange Bird cup, so...

They were out of that when I went.

I grabbed a Crispy Citrus Chicken
with Orange Aïoli and Baby Greens
while Elle tried the Lobster Tail
with Meyer Lemon Emulsion and
Grilled Lemon.

I understand why you didn't share yours, but she didn't give you a bite?

We tossed the corn, less than half eaten.

Well that's a waste. Mine was at least hot, but it wasn't quite as good as regular buttered corn, which we will be having as part of our 4th of July Celebration.

Elle spotted someone with guacamole
outside of Choza de Margarita and
just had to have some.
She loves guac.

But what are those weird little nuggets next to the guac?....

Elle was just about to pop her first
taste in her mouth when she stopped,
mouth agape, hand inches from her face.

"Hey..." She whimpered.
She put her food down, and...

....that murdered the Love Bug.

Did she toss the whole plate at that time?

and managed to walk out
empty handed.

I still don't know how we did it.
I still don't know why we did it.

As someone else said, you can always take it with you. :confused3 We always have a nice supply of Karamel in the room, and now evidently ice cream.

I reached out and gently nudged
a grain of sand with an outstretched finger.
The grain didn't budge.
The entire display was glued solid.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Disney wants to be in control of everything.

Unfortunately, the game froze
at that point, but not before we
got a pressed penny for our efforts.

The game froze again when we
tried to play in the UK.
We gave up after that.

Sounds like it's not all that advanced as they'd like to think.

(Please note the extreme enthusiasm.
I am not a huge fan of topiaries.)

With all the photos you took, I never would have guessed.

"Dad? Why did you take a picture
of Bambi's butt?"

Maybe it was a subliminal means of telling your readers what you thought of topiaries!

And no matter how hard she tried,
it just would not type letters
corresponding to anything entered.

Technology is not your friend today.

And this was the first time
I'd seen anyone order sushi here.
I was very surprised to see him
heat them on the grill!

That's kind of weird too, but it looks like a California Roll which is already cooked fish, so maybe the customer liked it warmed. I did see a guy at Benihana put his fish on the grill, I think he ordered the sashimi sampler and didn't realize it was raw fish.

Then I jerked my head up and looked at him
sharply. He just grinned. I laughed.

Funny guy.

We made a quick stop in
Mouse Gears on the way out.
Elle bought a few knick knacks

Fran just told me today that's it's closing for a "reimagine". :sad2:

Once at the resort, I grabbed my
camera and tripod and headed
out to shoot some resort photos.

Nice nighttime pics!

my head grew heavy
and my sight grew dim.

You had to stop for the night?

"Sorry to bother you, but the room
directly below you is reporting
water leaking from the ceiling."

 I've received that same phone call too, but perhaps I might have plugged the overflow drain with a face cloth and the tub may or may not have spilled over the sides. :rolleyes1

Did you see it
in this chapter

Finally! That was a tough one from my phone. I had to cheat a little and read other people's answers, but they're getting smarter and not blurting it outright anymore.

No rush...it can wait, and you certainly didnt eat much.
Not too much, but... enough.
We knew we were doing
Teppan Edo and didn't want

to spoil our appetites. :)
They were out of that when I went.
I'd heard that.
I warned Kay before we left
that they might not be there.
I understand why you didn't share yours, but she didn't give you a bite?
She did!
And it was better than
the chicken. ::yes::
Well that's a waste. Mine was at least hot, but it wasn't quite as good as regular buttered corn, which we will be having as part of our 4th of July Celebration.
mmmmm…. yummy.
I buy it at least a few times
a year.
From the store or from the guy
who parks his pick-up on the

side of the road.
But what are those weird little nuggets next to the guac?....
I don't know.
I tried to find out, but the
description I found didn't

seem to match what we had.
....that murdered the Love Bug.
Death by hot sauce.
Did she toss the whole plate at that time?
Oh, no.
She just frowned a bit
and I took a photo then

tossed it in the trash.
As someone else said, you can always take it with you. :confused3 We always have a nice supply of Karamel in the room, and now evidently ice cream.
I was a fool, Alison!!
Doesn't surprise me at all. Disney wants to be in control of everything.
::yes::
And yet I'm also sure that the
outdoor ones weren't glued.

Sounds like it's not all that advanced as they'd like to think.
Either the game or the wifi.
Either way... it's their stuff.

With all the photos you took, I never would have guessed.
Elle even asked about it.
"Because my readers will
expect it."
Maybe it was a subliminal means of telling your readers what you thought of topiaries!
:lmao:

Never thought of that, but...
Nope!

That's kind of weird too, but it looks like a California Roll which is already cooked fish, so maybe the customer liked it warmed.
I didn't notice if the chef
asked if he wanted it cooked
or not.
If I ever go back and someone

orders it, I'll pay more attention.
I did see a guy at Benihana put his fish on the grill, I think he ordered the sashimi sampler and didn't realize it was raw fish.
"Whadaya mean it's raw?"
Funny guy.
He was really good.
I liked him. :)

Fran just told me today that's it's closing for a "reimagine". :sad2:
Oh.
Too bad, it's my preferred
"stuff" store.
Nice nighttime pics!
Thanks, Alison! :goodvibes
You had to stop for the night?
Then I realized I was
on the wrong coast.

 I've received that same phone call too, but perhaps I might have plugged the overflow drain with a face cloth and the tub may or may not have spilled over the sides. :rolleyes1
:rotfl:

Whoops!
Finally! That was a tough one from my phone. I had to cheat a little and read other people's answers, but they're getting smarter and not blurting it outright anymore.
::yes::
But I don't mind if there are hints.
Not like when I was running contests. :)
