Thoughts on the $300 Halloween party pass for all parties?

I mean that was probably true before this anyway. Don’t know how much this this holds true for WDW since I saw this at DLR. but last time I was around DL on Halloween I remember seeing a family of four getting tickets at the guest relations outside the park for the sold out party that night. So they must have some laying around anyway.

I get some of it’s definitely pixie dust but still interesting to note.

At WDW, anyone with a military id can buy tickets to any party even if its sold out. Perhaps it’s the same at DLR and that group had a military id.

I would be peeved if this were my once in a lifetime trip and I had bought my tickets thinking that they would be limiting capacity. I will be interested to see if this just ends up shifting the mix of partygoers away from tourists and toward locals. My guess is that they are betting on locals not bothering to go enough in those two months to break even.

They stopped advertising parties as limited capacity years ago, after they finished the hub expansion.

Wasn’t aware of the military ID thing, no idea if this family was military to be honest. I was going elsewhere that night so it didn’t effect me I just remember seeing it. Nice that they have that though.

It seems to be a desperate move. Are party ticket sales off this year? Or....is it just that more bodies eat more food, buy more souvenirs, etc. It's roughly the price of 3 parties, right? So....maybe if they lowered the price of the parties, more families could attend. Who knows? It just seems that this move might only make sense to accountants.

Some accountants are looking at current sales and its not good. Break even for the tickets is 4 parties so this is really for locals. But its a really late move

Right. Agreed. And remember that they opened up reservations for the party tickets VERY EARLY this year. Did they anticipate that sales would be down? Again, who knows? I'll be there in 11 days and that's as much as I can do.

I'm debating this. We are there two weeks, it's our honeymoon, we our big Halloween fans, and it would let us stay in MK whenever we want.

Sorry if I missed it, but has it been confirmed or not that this pass allows for 4pm entry and the subsequent fastpasses until the party start time (2pm for DVC members)?

It’s a Season Pass for MNSSHP meaning it’s valid at Event touchpoints.

Today all Partygoers entered at 3:45.

All linked valid tickets in MDX allow FP booking:

I personally think this is a brilliant deal. We were going to 3 parties anyway; this way we could pay the same price and go to 6 during our stay. Such a bargain!

That’s what I thought would be the case. I wonder how many locals will use this pass as a Seasonal (10-week) After-4 Pass to MK. Looking at it that way, it would be a great deal, even if you just use it to make your three fastpasses and don’t even stay for the party.

I guess they want to compete with Universal who have their "frequent fear" pass. But the lines for everything at the HHN at Universal are 3+ hours long. So you have to buy an EP or do one house and you're done.
I'm worried that this pass for MNSSHP will just clog the parties and make the lines so unbearable.

Personally you could get a MNSSHP, MK After Hours, AK After Hours all for LESS. I would personally would do that instead because the After Hours events are supposed to be way less packed.
But the dates for AH cut off right now in September, and I have no idea if they will continue them. Seems like it would be odd to me with all the parties throughout the end of the year, but I don't know what they usually do.

Except they have all the parties in September and still have AH events then as well. They had them last year as well and doubt they will be going anywhere.

I could see using this as a short term AP to MK only. Say for a work trip, go evenings only, use some nights for rides since some party goers shy away from rides towards party specific offerings. But, only if you didn't have an AP already. If you went several nights, it should be cheaper than burning an all day entry on a multi-day pass.

At this point, I am almost at my FP+ day. Much easier to make plans on this side, so unless they announce October AH in the next four days...

This is exactly what I was thinking! It’s like a limited-time AP. If you are local and your family has been priced out of APs for this year, you can get your Disney fix for 3 months at a fraction of normal AP. Especially for families with younger children, their Disney focus is probably going to be MK anyway.
